Nahum 1
1 Pa inge kas ke acn Nineveh, oana ma liyeyuk in sie aruruma lal Nahum, sie mwet Elkosh.
The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
2 LEUM GOD El sie God loloik, El kalyaelos su lainul. El foloksak nu selos ke kasrkusrak lal.
A jealous and avenging God is Jehovah: an avenger is Jehovah, and full of fury: Jehovah taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth [wrath] for his enemies.
3 LEUM GOD El tia sa in kasrkusrakak, Tusruktu El arulana ku, Ac pacl nukewa El kalyei mwet su oru ma koluk. Yen LEUM GOD El fahsr we, eng upa ac sikyak; Kutkut in ye nial orala pukunyeng uh!
Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and doth not at all clear [the guilty]: Jehovah, — his way is in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 El sap ku nu sin meoa, ac meoa paola! El akpaoyela pac infacl uh. Ima in acn Bashan uli, Insroan fineol Carmel srusrala, Ac ros in acn Lebanon efla.
He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 Eol uh kusrusr ye mutun LEUM GOD, Eol srisrik uh kofelik ye mutal. Faclu usrusryak ke pacl LEUM GOD El sikla; Faclu ac mwet nukewa fac rarrar.
The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt, and the earth is upheaved at his presence, and the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Ke pacl El kasrkusrak, su ku in moulla? Su ku in moulla liki foloyak lal? El okoala fulen kasrkusrak lal; Eot uh mwesri nu ke kutkut ye mutal.
Who shall stand before his indignation? and who shall abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.
7 LEUM GOD El wo; El loango mwet lal in pacl in ongoiya; El karinganulos su nget nu sel.
Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 El arulana kunausla mwet lokoalok lal oana sie sronot lulap su fungla. El supwala mwet su lainul nu infulan misa.
But with an overrunning flood he will make a full end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9 Mea kowos pwapa sulali sang lain LEUM GOD? El ac kunauskowosla. Wangin mwet ku in alein nu sel pacl luo.
What do ye imagine against Jehovah? He will make a full end: trouble shall not rise up the second time.
10 Kowos su lungse sruhi ac fah isisyak Oana kokul su pinpinla ac sroan mah pao.
Though they be tangled together [as] thorns, and be as drenched from their drink, they shall be devoured as dry stubble, completely.
11 Oasr sie mwet su tuku liki kom, Nineveh, sesseslana ke pwapa sulal elan oru lain LEUM GOD.
Out of thee is gone forth one that imagineth evil against Jehovah, a wicked counsellor.
12 Pa inge ma LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet Israel, mwet lal: “Mwet Assyria finne ku ac pus suna, elos ac fah kunausyukla ac wanginla. Mwet luk, nga tuh akkeokye kowos meet, tusruktu nga fah tia sifilpa oru.
Thus saith Jehovah: Though they be complete in number, and many as they be, even so shall they be cut down, and he shall pass away; and though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 Inge nga fah aksafyela ku lun Assyria fowos, ac wotyalik sein ma kaprikowosi.”
And now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds asunder.
14 Pa inge ma LEUM GOD El wotela ke mwet Assyria: “Ac fah wangin tulik natulos in folokonak inen sou lalos. Nga fah kunausla ma sruloala su oan in tempul lun god lalos. Nga akoo sie kulyuk nu sin mwet Assyria — tia fal elos in moul!”
And Jehovah hath given commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy god will I cut off the graven image, and the molten image: I will prepare thy grave; for thou art vile.
15 Liye, mwet roso se pa tuku fineol uh me ingo, ac use pweng wo! El fahsr in sulkakin ke kutangla! Mwet Judah, oru kufwa in akfulat lowos an, ac sang nu sin God ma kowos wulela ku mu kowos ac sang nu sel an. Mwet koluk fah tia sifilpa utyak mweuni acn lowos. Wutiyukla na pwaye elos!
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth glad tidings, that publisheth peace! Celebrate thy feasts, Judah, perform thy vows: for the wicked one shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
