< Matthew 16 >
1 Kutu sin mwet Pharisee ac mwet Sadducee su tuku nu yurin Jesus elos kena sruokilya ke kas lal, ouinge elos sap elan oru sie mwe akul lulap nu selos in akkalemye lah God El welul.
AND the Pharisees and the Sadducees came to him, and, to make trial of him, desired him to shew them a sign from heaven.
2 Tusruk Jesus el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Ke pacl se faht uh ac tili uh, kowos fahk mu, ‘Len lutu uh ac wona mweyen srusra pe kusra uh.’
And he answering, said unto them, When evening comes, ye say, Fair weather, for the sky is red.
3 Ac toang na ke lotutang uh kowos ac fahk mu, ‘Ac afi, mweyen srusra ac lohsrlosr pe kusra uh.’ Kowos ku in palye pacl uh ke kowos liye pe kusra uh, tusruk kowos tia ku in aketeya kalmen akul ma sikyak in pacl inge uh!
And in the morning, It will be tempestuous to-day, for the sky is gloomy and fiery red. Ye hypocrites, do ye know how to discern the appearance of the sky, and are ye unable to discern the signs of the times?
4 Fuka lupan koluk ac pilesru God lun mwet in pacl inge uh! Ya kowos ke liye sie mwe akul lulap? Mo! Pwayena mwe akul kowos ac liye pa mwe akul su tuh sikyak nu sel Jonah.” Na el fahsr lukelos ac som liki acn sac.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh a sign; and no sign shall be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.
5 Ke mwet tumal lutlut elos kalla nu lefahl laco ke lulu uh, elos mulkunla in utuk bread.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Karinginkowosyang liki mwe pulol lun mwet Pharisee ac mwet Sadducee.”
Then Jesus said to them, Beware and abstain from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7 Na elos mutawauk in asiyuki inmasrlolos sifacna ac fahk, “El fahk ma inge mweyen kut mulkunla in utuk bread tuku.”
So they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have not taken bread.
8 Jesus el etu ma elos fahk uh, na el siyuk selos, “Efu ku kowos sramsram inmasrlowos lah wangin bread yuruwos? Arulana srikla lalulalfongi lowos an!
But when Jesus knew it, he said unto them, Why are ye reasoning among yourselves, O ye of little faith, because ye have not taken bread?
9 Ya soenna kalem suwos? Ya kowos tia esam ke nga kunsalik lof limekosr nu sin mwet tausin limekosr ah? Fotoh ekasr kowos tuh nwakla ke luwen mongo ah?
Do you not consider, nor remember the five loaves among the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 Ac ke lof itkosr nu sin mwet tausin akosr ah? Fotoh ekasr kowos tuh nwakla ah?
Nor the seven loaves among the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11 Efu ku tia kalem suwos lah nga tia kaskas ke bread? Karinginkowosyang liki mwe pulol lun mwet Pharisee ac mwet Sadducee uh!”
How is it that ye do not understand, that I spake not to you of bread, to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12 Na mwet tumal lutlut elos fah akilenak lah el tia kas in sensenkunulos ke mwe akpulolye bread, a ke mwe luti lun mwet Pharisee ac mwet Sadducee.
Then understood they, that he spake about abstaining not from the leaven in the bread, but from the doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
13 Jesus el som nu yen ma oan apkuran nu Caesarea Philippi, ac el siyuk sin mwet tumal lutlut, “Mwet uh fahk mu su Wen nutin Mwet uh?”
Then Jesus coming into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, questioned his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I am? The Son of Man?
14 Ac elos fahk, “Kutu fahk mu John Baptais, ac kutu mu Elijah, ac kutu fahk mu Jeremiah, ku sie sin mwet palu.”
But they replied, Some, that thou art John the Baptist; but others, Elias; and others again, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15 Na el siyuk selos, “Ac kowos, kowos mu su nga uh?”
He saith unto them, But who do ye say that I am?
16 Na Simon Peter el topuk ac fahk, “Kom pa Christ, Wen nutin God moul.”
Then Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
17 Ac Jesus el fahk, “Mwe insewowo nu sum, Simon, wen natul John! Ma pwaye se inge tia fwackyuk nu sum sin kutena mwet, a itukot nu sum sin Papa tumuk inkusrao.
And Jesus replying, said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but my Father, who is in heaven.
18 Ke ma inge nga fahk nu sum, kom pa Peter, su kalmac uh pa ‘eot,’ ac fin eot se inge nga ac fah musai church luk; na finne misa, tia pac ku in kunausla. (Hadēs )
And I tell thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock will I build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs )
19 Nga fah sot nu sum key nu ke Tokosrai lun kusrao. Ma kom tia lela fin faclu ac fah tia pac lela inkusrao, ac ma kom lela fin faclu ac fah lela pac inkusrao.”
And I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Na Jesus el sap mwet tumal lutlut in tiana fahk nu sin kutena mwet lah el pa Christ.
Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Messiah.
21 In pacl sac lac, Jesus el kaskas kalem na nu sin mwet tumal lutlut ac fahk, “Nga enenu na in som nu Jerusalem ac akkeokyeyuk sin un mwet matu, mwet tol fulat, ac mwet luti Ma Sap uh. Ac fah anwuki nga, tusruktu tukun len tolu, nga fah sifil akmoulyeyukyak.”
From that time Jesus began to shew his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and of the chief-priests, and of the scribes, and be put to death, and the third day rise again.
22 Peter el solalla nu saya, ac mutawauk in kael ac fahk, “God El tia ku in lela in ouingan, Leum! Ma inge tia ku in sikyak nu sum!”
And Peter taking him aside, began to chide him, saying, Mercy on thee, Lord! this shall never be thy case.
23 Jesus el forang nu sel Peter ac fahk, “Fahla likiyu, Satan! Kom sie mwe tukulkul nu sik, mweyen nunak lom ingan tia ma tuku sin God me, a ma sin mwet uh.”
Then turning from him, he said unto Peter, Get thee behind me Satan! thou art an offence to me: for thou dost not relish the things of God, but those of men.
24 Na Jesus el fahk nu sin mwet tumal lutlut, “Kutena mwet fin lungse wiyu, el enenu in lafwekunul sifacna, srukak sakseng lal ac fahsr tukuk.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 Tuh el su lungse molela moul lal, ac fah tuhlac lukel; a el su moul lal tuhlac lukel keik, el fah konauk moul lal.
For whosoever is desirous to preserve his life, shall lose it; but whosoever would lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
26 Ac tuh mwe mea nu sin sie mwet el fin eis lal faclu nufon, a moul lal tuhlac? Wangin sripa, mweyen wangin ma el ac ku in sang in sifil molela moul lal.
For what would a man be advantaged, though he could gain the whole world, if he should suffer the loss of his soul? or what will a man give as the ransom for his soul?
27 Tuh Wen nutin Mwet el apkuran in tuku in wolana lun Papa tumal wi lipufan lal, na el ac fah sang ma lacne nu sin kais sie mwet, fal nu ke orekma lal.
For the Son of man shall hereafter come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and then shall he recompense every man according to his practice.
28 Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos, oasr kutu sin mwet inge su ac fah tiana misa nwe ke na elos liye ke Wen nutin Mwet el tuku in tokosrai lal.”
Verily I say unto you, There are some of those standing here, who shall in no wise taste of death, until they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
