< Joshua 10 >
1 Ke pacl se inge Adonizedek el tokosra lun acn Jerusalem. El lohng lah Joshua el eisla acn Ai ac arulana kunausla acn we, ac uniya tokosra lun acn we oana ke el tuh oru nu ke acn Jericho ac tokosra we. El oayapa lohng lah mwet Gibeon elos insesela yurin mwet Israel ac elos muta misla inmasrlolos.
And it comes to pass, when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem hears that Joshua has captured Ai, and devotes it (as he had done to Jericho and to her king so he has done to Ai and to her king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon have made peace with Israel, and are in their midst—
2 Na el ac mwet lal elos arulana fosrnga ke pweng se inge, mweyen acn Gibeon yohk oana siti saya su oasr tokosra la, ac yohk liki acn Ai, ac mwet we nukewa mwet wo ke mweun.
that they are greatly afraid, because Gibeon [is] a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it [is] greater than Ai, and all its men [are] heroes.
3 Ouinge Tokosra Adonizedek el sapla nu sel Tokosra Hoham lun Hebron, Tokosra Piram lun Jarmuth, Tokosra Japhia lun Lachish, ac Tokosra Debir lun Eglon, ac fahk,
And Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sends to Hoham king of Hebron, and to Piram king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 “Fahsru kasreyu mweuni acn Gibeon, mweyen mwet we elos orala wulela in misla nu sel Joshua ac mwet Israel.”
“Come up to me, and help me, and we strike Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.”
5 Ouinge tokosra limekosr inge lun mwet Amor, su tokosra lun Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, ac Eglon, elos orani mwet mweun lalos in som raunela acn Gibeon, ac mweuni mwet we.
And five kings of the Amorite (the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon) are gathered together, and go up, they and all their camps, and encamp against Gibeon, and fight against it.
6 Mwet Gibeon elos sapla nu sel Joshua nu yen elos mutangan aktuktuk we in acn Gilgal, ac fahk, “Nimet ngetla liki kut! Fahsru aksaye nu yorosr! Kasre kut ac molikutla, mweyen tokosra Amor nukewa su muta fulan eol uh pa toeni lain kut inge!”
And the men of Gibeon send to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Do not let your hand cease from your servants; come up to us [with] haste, and give safety to us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorite, dwelling in the hill-country, have been assembled against us.”
7 Ouinge Joshua ac mwet mweun lal nukewa wi mwet pisrla ke mweun, elos mukuiyak liki acn Gilgal.
And Joshua goes up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valor.
8 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Joshua, “Nimet kom sangeng selos. Nga eisaloswot tari nu inpoum. Wangin sie selos ac fah ku in lain kom.”
And YHWH says to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have given them into your hand, there does not stand a man of them in your presence.”
9 Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos fahsr fong nufon se liki acn Gilgal nu Gibeon, na elos sa na sruokya mwet Amor meet liki elos akola.
And Joshua comes to them suddenly (all the night he has gone up from Gilgal),
10 LEUM GOD El akfohsyauk mwet Amor ye mutun mwet Israel, ac mwet Israel elos onela kutu sin mwet Amor in acn Gibeon, ac elos ukwe mwet lula an ac oatula ke inkanek oasriksrik soko inmasrlon eol in Beth Horon. Na elos oru na anwuk lalos som na nwe sun acn Azekah ac Makkedah, su oan eir in Beth Horon.
and YHWH crushes them before Israel, and strikes them [with] a great striking at Gibeon, and pursues them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and strikes them to Azekah, and to Makkedah.
11 Ke mwet Amor elos kaingkin mwet Israel ke innek soko ah, LEUM GOD El supweya af yohk kosra nu faclos ac onelosla. Pus mwet misa ke af yohk kosra liki mwet misa ke cutlass nutin mwet Israel.
And it comes to pass, in their fleeing from the face of Israel—they [are] in the descent of Beth-Horon—and YHWH has cast great stones on them out of the heavens, to Azekah, and they die; more are they who have died by the hailstones than they whom the sons of Israel have slain by the sword.
12 Ke len se LEUM GOD El sang mwet Amor inge nu inpoun mwet Israel, Joshua el fahk nu sin LEUM GOD ye mutun mwet Israel nukewa, “Faht, tui fin acn Gibeon; Ac malem, tui na Infahlfal Aijalon.”
Then Joshua speaks to YHWH in the day of YHWH’s giving up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he says before the eyes of Israel, “Sun—stand still in Gibeon; and moon—in the Valley of Ajalon”;
13 Na faht ah tui, ac malem ah tia mukuila nwe ke na facl sac onelosla su mweun lainulos. Ma inge simla in [Book In Jashar]. Faht ah tui infulwen kusrao ac tia tili ke lusen len nufon se.
and the sun stands still, and the moon has stood—until the nation takes vengeance [on] its enemies; is it not written on the Scroll of the Upright, “and the sun stands in the midst of the heavens, and has not hurried to go in—as a perfect day?”
14 Soenna oasr sie len sikyak ouinge omeet me ku tukun pacl sac me, LEUM GOD Elan topuk pusren mwet ke ouiya se inge. LEUM GOD El mweun ke inen mwet Israel!
And there has not been like that day before it or after it, for YHWH’s listening to the voice of a man; for YHWH is fighting for Israel.
15 Na Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos folokla nu nien aktuktuk lalos Gilgal.
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
16 Tusruktu, tokosra Amor limekosr ah kaingla ac wikla in luf se in acn Makkedah.
And these five kings flee, and are hidden in a cave at Makkedah,
17 Mwet se konalosyak, ac fwackyang nu sel Joshua acn elos wikwik we.
and it is declared to Joshua, saying, “The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.”
18 El fahk mu, “Epusang kutu eot lulap an in fonosya mutun luf sacn, ac filiya kutu mwet in taran.
And Joshua says, “Roll great stones to the mouth of the cave, and appoint men over it to watch them;
19 Tusruktu nik kowos muta we paht. Ukweya mwet lokoalok lowos an ac onelosla, mutawauk na tokyak fahsrot. Nimet lela elos in sun siti lalos an, mweyen LEUM GOD lowos El eisaloswot tari nu inpouwos.”
and you, do not stand, pursue after your enemies, and you have struck them from the rear; do not permit them to go into their cities, for your God YHWH has given them into your hand.”
20 Joshua ac mwet Israel elos uniya pusialos, tuh ekasr na selos moulla utyak nu in kalkal lun siti selos.
And it comes to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel finish to strike them [with] a very great striking until they are consumed, and the remnant who have remained of them go into the fortified cities,
21 Ke ma inge mwet mweun lal Joshua nukewa elos moul folokla nu ke nien aktuktuk selos in Makkedah. Wanginna mwet in acn sac fahkla kutena ma lain mwet Israel.
that all the people return to the camp, to Joshua, [at] Makkedah, in peace; none moved his tongue sharply against the sons of Israel.
22 Na Joshua el fahk, “Ikasla luf sacn ac pwanma tokosra limekosr an nu yuruk.”
And Joshua says, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out to me these five kings from the cave”;
23 Na elos ikasla mutun luf sac, ac tokosra lun Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, ac Eglon elos ilme.
and they do so, and bring out to him these five kings from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
24 Ke elos pwanma tokosra limekosr ah nu yorol Joshua, na Joshua el pangonma mwet Israel nukewa ac fahk nu sin mwet kol lun mwet mweun su welul ah, “Fahsru ac longya kwawen tokosra inge.” Ac elos oru oana.
And it comes to pass, when they bring out these kings to Joshua, that Joshua calls to every man of Israel, and says to the captains of the men of war, who have gone with him, “Draw near, set your feet on the necks of these kings”; and they draw near, and set their feet on their necks.
25 Na Joshua el fahk nu selos, “Nik kowos sangeng ku alolo. Kowos in ku ac pulaikna, mweyen pa inge ma LEUM GOD El ac oru nu sin mwet lokoalok nukewa lowos.”
And Joshua says to them, “Do not fear, nor be frightened; be strong and courageous; for thus does YHWH do to all your enemies with whom you are fighting”;
26 Na Joshua el uniya tokosra inge ac srupsralosyak ulun sak limekosr, ac manolos sripsrip na nwe ke ekela.
and Joshua strikes them afterward, and puts them to death, and hangs them on five trees; and they are hanging on the trees until the evening.
27 Ke faht ah tili, Joshua el sap in ituki elos ac sisiyang nu in luf se ma elos tuh wikwik loac ah. Elos sang eot lulap fonosya mutun luf sac, ac eot inge srakna oan nwe misenge.
And it comes to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, Joshua has commanded, and they take them down from off the trees, and cast them into the cave where they had been hid, and put great stones on the mouth of the cave until this very day.
28 Joshua el mweun ac sruokya acn Makkedah ac tokosra lun acn we ke len sac. El onela mwet nukewa in siti sac, ac wangin mwet lula. El oru nu sin tokosra Makkedah oana ke el tuh oru nu sin tokosra Jericho ah.
And Joshua has captured Makkedah on that day, and he strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and he has devoted its king, them and every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; and he does to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.
29 Tukun ma inge, Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos som liki acn Makkedah nu Libnah ac mweun lain acn we.
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah [to] Libnah, and fights with Libnah;
30 LEUM GOD El oayapa sang kutangla nu sin mwet Israel fin siti se inge ac tokosra lun acn we. Elos onela mwet nukewa in siti sac ac wangin mwet lula. Elos oru nu sin tokosra we oana ke elos tuh oru nu sin tokosra Jericho ah.
and YHWH also gives it into the hand of Israel, and its king, and [Joshua] strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it—he does not leave a remnant in it; and he does to its king as he did to the king of Jericho.
31 Tukun ma inge, Joshua ac mwet mweun lal nukewa elos som liki acn Libnah nu Lachish, ac raunela acn we ac mweun lainulos.
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encamps against it, and fights against it.
32 LEUM GOD El sang acn Lachish nu inpoun mwet Israel. Joshua el sruokya acn we ke len se akluo ah. Elos onela mwet nukewa in siti sac ac wangin mwet lula, oana ke elos tuh oru in acn Libnah.
And YHWH gives Lachish into the hand of Israel, and [Joshua] captures it on the second day, and strikes it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it, according to all that he did to Libnah.
33 Pacl se inge tokosra Horam lun Gezer el tuku in kasru acn Lachish, tuh Joshua el kutangulla ac mwet mweun lal pac, ac wangin sie selos moul.
Then Horam king of Gezer has come up to help Lachish, and Joshua strikes him and his people, until he has not left a remnant to him.
34 Toko, Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos som liki acn Lachish nu Eglon, ac raunela acn we ac mweun lainulos.
And Joshua passes over, and all Israel with him, from Lachish to Eglon, and they encamp against it, and fight against it,
35 Elos eisla acn we ke len sacna, ac onela mwet nukewa we oana ke elos tuh oru in acn Lachish.
and capture it on that day, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who [is] in it he has devoted on that day, according to all that he did to Lachish.
36 Na toko, Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos som liki acn Eglon ac fanyak nu Hebron ac mweuni pac acn we.
And Joshua goes up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron, and they fight against it,
37 Elos eisla siti sac ac onela mwet nukewa we, wi tokosra lun acn we ac acn nukewa oan apkuran nu we, ac wangin sie moul. Joshua el arulana kunausla acn we oana ke el tuh oru in acn Eglon.
and capture it, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant—according to all that he did to Eglon—and devotes it, and every person who [is] in it.
38 Na Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos forla som nu Debir ac mweuni
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fights against it,
39 ac sruokya acn we. Elos onela mwet we ac mwet in acn nukewa oan apkuran nu we. Joshua el oru nu in acn Debir ac nu sin tokosra we oana ma el tuh oru in acn Hebron ac in acn Libnah ac nu sin tokosra we.
and captures it, and its king, and all its cities, and they strike them by the mouth of the sword, and devote every person who [is] in it—he has not left a remnant; as he did to Hebron so he did to Debir, and to its king, and as he did to Libnah, and to its king.
40 Ouinge Joshua el kutangla in pola sac nufon. El sruokya tokosra inge nukewa — elos su muta fineol uh, acn oatu nu kutulap, oayapa pe eol nu roto, ac yen mwesis nu epang. Wangin sie selos moul. El onelosla nukewa oana ke LEUM GOD lun Israel El tuh sapkin.
And Joshua strikes all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings—he has not left a remnant, and he has devoted all that breathe, as YHWH, God of Israel, commanded.
41 Joshua el kutangla acn nukewa, mutawauk Kadesh Barnea tafun yen nu epang, nwe ke acn Gaza sisken meoa wi acn Goshen nufon, utyak nwe Gibeon layen nu eir.
And Joshua strikes them from Kadesh-Barnea, even to Gaza, and all the land of Goshen, even to Gibeon;
42 Joshua el kutangla tokosra inge nukewa ac sruokya acn lalos ke fwilin mweun sefanna, mweyen LEUM GOD lun mwet Israel El welulos ke mweun lalos.
and Joshua has captured all these kings and their land [at] one time, for YHWH, God of Israel, is fighting for Israel.
43 Tukun ma inge Joshua ac mwet mweun lal elos folokla nu nien aktuktuk lalos in acn Gilgal.
And Joshua turns back, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.
