Jeremiah 32
1 LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik in yac se aksingoul ke Zedekiah el tokosra lun Judah, su pa yac aksingoul oalkosr ke Nebuchadnezzar el tokosra lun Babylonia.
The word that has been to Jeremiah from YHWH in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah—it [is] the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar—
2 In pacl sac, un mwet mweun lun tokosra lun Babylonia elos kuhlusya acn Jerusalem, ac nga kauli in kalkal lun mwet san inkul sin tokosra.
And then the forces of the king of Babylon are laying siege against Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet has been shut up in the court of the prison that [is] in the house of the king of Judah,
3 Tokosra Zedekiah el kaliyuwi we ke sripen nga fahkak mu LEUM GOD El fahk, “Nga fah lela tokosra Babylonia in sruokya siti se inge,
where Zedekiah king of Judah has shut him up, saying, “Why are you prophesying, saying, Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has captured it;
4 ac Tokosra Zedekiah el fah tia ku in kaingla. Ac fah itukyang el nu inpoun tokosra Babylonia. Eltal fah ngetani sie sin sie, ac sramsram.
and Zedekiah king of Judah does not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth has spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes,
5 Ac fah utukla Zedekiah nu Babylonia, ac el fah mutana we nwe ke nga sulela ma fal in orek nu sel. El finne mweuni mwet Babylonia, el ac fah tiana kutangla. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
and he leads Zedekiah [to] Babylon, and there he is until My inspecting him—a declaration of YHWH—because you fight with the Chaldeans, you do not prosper.”
6 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik lah
And Jeremiah says, “A word of YHWH has been to me, saying,
7 Hanamel, wen natul Shallum su matu lukel papa, el ac tuku nu yuruk ac siyuk nga in molela ima se lal in acn Anathoth in facl sin Benjamin, mweyen nga pa sou fototo oemeet nu sel, ac oasr suwohs luk in molela ima sac luk.
Behold, Hanameel son of Shallum, your uncle, is coming to you, saying, Buy my field that [is] in Anathoth for yourself, for the right of redemption [is] yours to buy.”
8 Na oana ke LEUM GOD El fahk ah, Hanamel el tuku nu yuruk ke inkul lun tokosra, ac siyuk ngan molela ima sac. Ke ma inge nga etu lah pwaye LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik.
And Hanameel, my uncle’s son, comes to me, according to the word of YHWH, to the court of the prison, and says to me, “Please buy my field that [is] in Anathoth, that [is] in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession [is] yours, and redemption yours—buy [it] for yourself.” And I know that it [is] the word of YHWH,
9 Na nga molela ima sac sel Hanamel, ac pauniya molo ah, su oasr ke ipin silver singoul itkosr.
and I buy the field that [is] in Anathoth from Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and I weigh the money to him—seventeen shekels of silver.
10 Nga sainiya inek ke pwepu in kuka acn, ac siliya ye mutun mwet loh, na nga pauniya molo ah ke mwe paun.
And I write in a scroll, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;
11 Nga eis pwepu luo ma simla oakwuk nukewa ke acn kukala sac — sie oasr sil kac, ac sie wangin sil kac —
and I take the purchase scroll, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one;
12 ac nga sang pwepu inge nu sel Baruch, wen natul Neriah su ma natul Mahseiah. Nga oru ma inge nukewa ye mutal Hanamel ac ye mutun mwet loh su wi pac sain inelos ke pwepu in kuka sac, oayapa ye mutun mwet su wi muta inkul lun tokosra.
and I give the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle’s son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase scroll, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison.
13 Ye mutalos nukewa nga fahk nu sel Baruch,
And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying,
14 “LEUM GOD Kulana, God lun Israel, El sap kom in eis pwepu inge, kewana ma siliyuki ac ma wangin sil kac, ac in filiya in sie sufa eot tuh in ku in oan kawil nu ke yac puspis fahsru.
“Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Take these scrolls, this purchase scroll, both the sealed one and the open one, and you have put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days.
15 LEUM GOD Kulana, God lun Israel, El fahk mu lohm, ima, ac nien grape fah sifilpa kukakinyuk in facl se inge.”
For thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards are bought in this land again.”
16 Tukun nga sang pwepu in kuka sac nu sel Baruch, na nga pre,
And I pray to YHWH after my giving the purchase scroll to Baruch son of Neriah, saying,
17 “LEUM GOD Fulatlana, kom orala faclu ac kusrao ke ku lulap lom. Wanginna ma upa nu sum.
“Aah! Lord YHWH, behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power, and by Your outstretched arm; there is nothing too wonderful for You:
18 Kom akkalemye lungse kawil lom nu sin tausin fwil, tusruktu kom oayapa kai mwet ke sripen ma koluk lun papa tumalos ac nina kialos. Kom sie God fulat ac ku. Kom LEUM GOD Kulana.
doing kindness to thousands, and repaying iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; God, the great, the mighty, YHWH of Hosts [is] His Name;
19 Kom oru lemlem lalmwetmet ac oru orekma usrnguk ac kulana. Kom liye ma nukewa ma mwet uh oru, ac kom sang nu selos fal nu ke orekma lalos.
great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
20 Pacl loes somla kom orek mwenmen ac ma usrnguk in acn Egypt, ac kom srakna oru nwe misenge in acn Israel ac inmasrlon mutunfacl saya nukewa. Inge eteyuk kom yen nukewa.
in that you have done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt to this day, and in Israel, and among men, and You make for Yourself a name as [at] this day.
21 Ke mwenmen ac usrnguk ma aksangengye mwet lokoalok lasr, kom orekmakin ku lulap lom in use mwet lom liki facl Egypt.
And You bring forth Your people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great fear,
22 Kom sang nu selos acn mut ac kasrup fohk we, oana kom tuh wulela nu sin mwet matu lalos.
and you give to them this land that you swore to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey,
23 Tusruktu ke elos utyak nu in facl se inge ac sruokya tuh in ma lalos, elos tuh tia akos ma sap lom, ku moul fal nu ke mwe luti lom. Elos tia oru kutena ma kom sapkin nu selos, pwanang kom use mwe ongoiya inge nukewa nu faclos.
and they come in, and possess it, and they have not listened to Your voice, and have not walked in Your law, all that which You laid a charge on them to do they have not done, and You proclaim all this calamity [to] them.
24 “Liye, mwet Babylonia elos elosak tari acn in fan lalos nu fin pot uh, ac inge elos mweuni. Ke sripen mweun, sracl, ac mas upa, elos ac sruokya siti uh. Kom ku in liye lah ma kom tuh fahk ah nufon akpwayeiyuk.
Behold, the [siege] mounds have come to the city to capture it, and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it, because of the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence; and that which You have spoken has come to pass, and behold, You are seeing.
25 Tusruktu, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, kom pa sapkin nga in molela ima sac ye mutun mwet loh, siti uh finne apkuran in sruhu sin mwet Babylonia.”
Yet You have said to me, O Lord YHWH, Buy the field for yourself with money, and cause witnesses to testify—and the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!”
26 Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
And the word of YHWH is to Jeremiah, saying,
27 “Nga LEUM GOD, God lun mwet nukewa faclu. Wanginna ma upa nu sik.
“Behold, I [am] YHWH, God of all flesh: is anything too wonderful for Me?”
28 Nga ac fah sang siti se inge nu inpaol Tokosra Nebuchadnezzar lun Babylonia ac un mwet mweun lal. Elos ac sruokya
Therefore, thus said YHWH: “Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he has captured it.
29 ac esukak. Elos ac furreak nwe ke apatla, wi pacna lohm ma mwet uh akkasrkusrakyeyu we ke elos esukak mwe keng nu sel Baal fin lohm selos, ac ke elos okoala mwe kisa wain nu sin god saya.
And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city have come in, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it—and the houses on whose roofs they made incense to Ba‘al, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger.
30 Oe ke mutaweyen sramsram kaclos me, mutunfacl Israel ac Judah elos tiana oru lungse luk, ac elso akkasrkusrakyeyu ke ma elos oru.
For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only evil in My eyes from their youth; for the sons of Israel are surely provoking Me with the work of their hands,” a declaration of YHWH.

“For this city has been a cause of My anger and a cause of My fury, even from the day that they built it, and to this day—to turn it aside from before My face,
32 ke sripen ma koluk nukewa ma orekla sin mwet Judah ac Jerusalem, weang pac tokosra, mwet kol, mwet tol, ac mwet palu lalos.
because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me—they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
33 Elos totulikiyula, ac nga nwe kwafeang in lotelos elos tiana porongeyu ku eis mwe luti luk.
And they turn the neck to Me, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not listening to accept instruction.
34 Elos oru nwe ke na elos filiya pac ma sruloala srungayuk lalos uh in Tempul ma musaiyukla tuh in nien alu nu sik, ouinge elos akfohkfokyela.
And they set their abominations in the house over which My Name is called, so as to defile it.
35 Elos etoak loang nu sel Baal ke Infahlfal Hinnom in kisakin wen ac acn natulos nu sel Molech, god lalos. Nga tiana sapkin elos in oru ma inge, ac nga tia pacna nunku mu elos ac ku in oru ouiya inge, in tuh pwanang mwet Judah elos oru ma koluk.”
And they build the high places of Ba‘al that [are] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on My heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin.
36 LEUM GOD lun Israel El fahk nu sik, “Jeremiah, mwet uh fahk mu mweun, sracl, ac mas upa ac oru siti se inge in itukyang nu inpoun tokosra lun Babylonia. Inge, porongo pac ma nga ac fahk uh.
And now, therefore, thus said YHWH, God of Israel, concerning this city, of which you are saying, It has been given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence:
37 Nga ac fah eisani mwet uh liki mutunfacl nukewa ma nga akfahsryeloselik nu we ke sripen mulat ac kasrkusrak luk, ac nga ac fah folokunulosme nu in acn se inge, ac oru tuh elos in mutana we ac tia fosrnga.
Behold, I am gathering them out of all the lands to where I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back to this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;
38 Elos ac fah mwet luk, ac nga ac fah God lalos.
and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God;
39 Nga fah sang nu selos sripa sefanna nu ke moul lalos: in akfulatyeyu pacl nukewa, tuh in wo nu selos sifacna ac oayapa nu sin fwilin tulik natulos.
and I have given to them one heart and one way, to fear Me all the days, for the good of them and their sons after them:
40 Nga fah oru sie wuleang yorolos su ma na nwe tok. Nga fah tiana tui in oru ma wo nu selos, ac nga fah oru elos in sangeng sik ke insialos nufon tuh elos fah tiana sifil forla likiyu.
and I have made a perpetual covenant for them, in that I do not turn back from after them for My doing them good, and I put My fear in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;
41 Nga fah arulana insewowo in oru ma wo nu selos, ac nga fah oakelosi in facl se inge nwe tok.
and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul.”
42 “In oana ke nga tuh sang mwe ongoiya se inge nu fin mwet inge, nga fah oayapa sang nu selos ma wo nukewa ma nga wulela kac.
For thus said YHWH: “As I brought to this people all this great calamity, so I am bringing on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;
43 Mwet uh fahk mu acn se inge ac fah oana sie acn mwesis ma wangin mwet ku ma orakrak muta we, ac lah ac mau itukyang nu inpoun mwet Babylonia. Tusruktu acn in ima ac fah sifilpa kukakinyuk ac moliyuk in acn se inge.
and the field has been bought in this land of which you are saying, It [is] a desolation, without man and beast, it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
44 Mwet uh ac molela acn, ac pwepu kac ac fah sainiyuki ac siliyuki ye mutun mwet loh. Ma inge ac fah orek in facl sin Benjamin, in siti srisrik ma rauneak Jerusalem, inkul srisrik lun Judah, yen tohktok uh, pe eol uh, ac layen eir in Judah. Nga fah folokunla mwet uh nu in facl selos. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
They buy fields with money, so as to write in a scroll, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in outskirts of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I return their captivity,” a declaration of YHWH.
