Ezra 7

And after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,
2 su wen natul Shallum, su wen natul Zadok, su wen natul Ahitub,
son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,
3 su wen natul Amariah, su wen natul Azariah, su wen natul Meraioth,
son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,
4 su wen natul Zerahiah, su wen natul Uzzi, su wen natul Bukki,
son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,
5 su wen natul Abishua, su wen natul Phinehas, su wen natul Eleazar, su wen natul Aaron.
son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the head priest;
6 Ezra el tuh sie mwet lutlut su arulana yohk etu lal ke Ma Sap su LEUM GOD lun Israel El tuh sang nu sel Moses. Ke sripen LEUM GOD El akinsewowoyal Ezra, ouinge tokosra fulat el sang nu sel ma nukewa el siyuk kac. Ezra el som liki acn Babylonia
Ezra himself has come up from Babylon, and he [is] a scribe ready in the Law of Moses, that YHWH God of Israel gave, and the king gives to him—according to the hand of his God YHWH on him—all his request.
7 in yac se akitkosr tukun Artaxerxes el mutawauk in leum fin acn we, na el som nu Jerusalem wi kutu sin mwet Israel ac kutu mwet tol, mwet Levi, mwet on, mwet topang su forfor taran mutunpot, ac mwet orekma lun Tempul.
And there go up of the sons of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8 Elos utyak nu Jerusalem ke malem se meet in yac se akitkosr lun tokosra fulat sac.
And he comes to Jerusalem in the fifth month, that [is in] the seventh year of the king,
9 Elos mukuiyak liki acn Babylon ke len se meet in malem se meet, na ke kasreyuk lun God elos sun acn Jerusalem ke len se meet in malem se aklimekosr.
for on the first of the month he has founded the ascent from Babylon, and on the first of the fifth month he has come to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God on him,
10 Ezra el sang insial in lutlut ke Ma Sap lun LEUM GOD ac in moulkin, oayapa el luti ma sap ac oakwuk nukewa kac nu sin mwet Israel.
for Ezra has prepared his heart to seek the Law of YHWH, and to do, and to teach in Israel statute and judgment.
11 Tokosra Fulat Artaxerxes el sang leta se inge nu sel Ezra, su sie mwet tol ac mwet lutlut su arulana yohk etu lal ke ma sap ac oakwuk ku su LEUM GOD El tuh sang nu sin Israel:
And this [is] a copy of the letter that King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, a scribe of the words of the commands of YHWH, and of His statutes on Israel:
12 “Ma sel Tokosra Fulat Artaxerxes, nu sel Ezra, mwet tol ac mwet lutlut yohk ke Ma Sap lun God lun Kusrao.
“Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, a perfect scribe of the Law of the God of the heavens, and at such a time:
13 “Nga sapkin nu yen nukewa in tokosrai luk tuh kutena mwet Israel, ku mwet tol ac mwet Levi, su lungse wi kom som nu Jerusalem, elos ku in som.
By me has been made a decree that everyone who is willing, in my kingdom, of the people of Israel and of its priests and Levites, to go to Jerusalem with you, go;
14 Nga ac mwet pwapa itkosr luk, kut supwekom in som liye ouiyen acn Jerusalem ac Judah, in liye lah fuka akosyen Ma Sap lun God lom, su El asot nu sum in karingin.
because that from the king and his seven counselors you are sent, to inquire concerning Judah and concerning Jerusalem, with the Law of God that [is] in your hand,
15 Kom in us mwe sang orek ke gold ac silver su nga ac mwet pwapa luk lungse in sang nu sin God lun Israel, su Tempul la oan in Jerusalem.
and to carry silver and gold that the king and his counselors willingly offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling place [is] in Jerusalem,
16 Kom fah oayapa us silver ac gold nukewa su kom orani in acn nukewa lun Babylon, ac mwe sang pac su mwet Israel ac mwet tol lalos elos sang nu ke Tempul lun God lalos in Jerusalem.
and all the silver and gold that you find in all the province of Babylon, with the free-will offerings of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly, for the house of their God that [is] in Jerusalem,
17 “Kom fah oaru in orekmakin mani inge in moli cow mukul, sheep mukul, sheep fusr, wheat, ac wain, na kom fah kisakin ma inge fin loang lun Tempul in Jerusalem.
therefore you speedily buy with this money, bullocks, rams, lambs, and their presents, and their drink-offerings, and bring them near to the altar of the house of your God that [is] in Jerusalem,
18 Kom ku in orekmakin silver ac gold ma lula nu ke kutena ma su kom ac mwet lom fah sulela, fal nu ke lungse lun God lom.
and that which to you and to your brothers is good to do with the rest of the silver and gold, according to the will of your God you do.
19 Kom fah sang nu sin God in acn Jerusalem ahlu nukewa ma itukot nu sum in orekmakinyuk in Tempul ke pacl in alu.
And the vessels that are given to you, for the service of the house of your God, make perfect before the God of Jerusalem;
20 Ac fin oasr kutena ma saya su kom enenu pac nu ke Tempul, kom fah eis liki iwen filma lun tokosra.
and the rest of the necessary things of the house of your God, that it falls to you to give, you give from the treasure-house of the king.
21 “Nga sapkin nu sin mwet nukewa su karingin mwe kasrup in acn Roto-in-Euphrates, tuh kowos in aksaye sang nu sel Ezra, su mwet tol ac mwet lutlut ke Ma Sap lun God lun Kusrao, ma nukewa el siyuk kac.
And by me—I Artaxerxes the king—is made a decree to all treasurers who [are] beyond the river, that all that Ezra the priest, scribe of the Law of the God of the heavens, asks of you, be done speedily:
22 Aok, in tia alukela paun itkosr tausin lumfoko ke silver, bushel lumfoko ke wheat, gallon lumfoko lumngaul ke wain, gallon lumfoko lumngaul ke oil in olive, ac lupan sohl ma el ac enenu.
To silver one hundred talents, and to wheat one hundred cors, and to wine one hundred baths, and to oil one hundred baths, and salt without reckoning;
23 Kowos enenu in arulana oaru in sang ma nukewa su God lun Kusrao El enenu nu ke Tempul lal. Ouinge kowos fah oru tuh El fah tiana kasrkusrak sik ku selos su ac fah leum tukuk.
all that [is] by the decree of the God of the heavens, let be done diligently for the house of the God of the heavens; for why is there wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons?
24 Nga sapkin tuh in wangin sie suwos eisani tax sin mwet tol, mwet Levi, mwet on, mwet topang ke mutunpot, mwet orekma, ku kutena mwet saya su kupasr nu ke Tempul se inge.
And to you we are making known, that on any of the priests and Levites, singers, gatekeepers, Nethinim, and servants of the house of God, tribute and custom there is no authority to lift up.
25 “Kom, Ezra, ke lalmwetmet su God lom El asot nu sum, kom in sulela mwet kol ac mwet nununku in liyaung mwet nukewa Roto-in-Euphrates su moul ye Ma Sap lun God lom. Kom in luti Ma Sap inge nu sin kutena mwet su tia etu.
And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God, that [is] in your hand, appoint magistrates—even judges who may be judging—judging all the people who are beyond the river, to all knowing the Law of your God, and he who has not known, you cause to know;
26 Kutena mwet fin seakos ma sap lun God lom, ku ma sap lun tokosrai luk, eneneyuk tuh in sa na kalyeiyuk elos ouinge: ke misa, ku nu ke sruoh, ku ke eisla ma lalos, ku ke kauli in presin.”
and any who does not do the Law of your God, and the law of the king, judgment is done speedily on him, whether to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of riches, and to bonds.”
27 Ezra el fahk, “Kaksakin LEUM GOD lun mwet matu lasr! El oru tuh tokosra fulat elan insewowo in akfulatye Tempul lun LEUM GOD in Jerusalem in ouiya se inge.
Blessed [is] YHWH, God of our fathers, who has given such a thing as this in the heart of the king, to beautify the house of YHWH that [is] in Jerusalem,
28 Ke lungkulang lun God, nga ku in eis kulang sin tokosra fulat, oayapa sin mwet pwapa lal, ac mwet nukewa lal su fulat ac ku. LEUM GOD luk El akpulaikyeyu, pwanang nga tuh ku in aknunakye sifen sou puspis lun Israel in wiyu folok.”
and to me has stretched out kindness before the king and his counselors, and before all the mighty heads of the king: and I have strengthened myself as the hand of my God YHWH [is] on me, and I gather out of Israel heads to go up with me.
