< Esther 8 >

1 In len sacna Tokosra Ahasuerus el sang nu sel Kasra Esther ma nukewa su ma lal Haman, mwet lokoalok lun mwet Jew. Esther el fahkang nu sel tokosra lah Mordecai el sou nu sel, ac tukun pacl sac fahla, filfilla Mordecai elan ku in utyak nu ye mutun tokosra.
On that day the king Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy to Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was to her.
2 Tokosra el eisla ring se lal ma sil lal oan kac (ring se ma el tuh eisla sel Haman) ac sang nu sel Mordecai. Esther el sang tuh Mordecai elan nununku ma nukewa lal Haman.
And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
3 Na Esther el faksufi sisken nial tokosra, tung ac kwafe sel elan oru sie inkanek in sikulya pwapa sulallal ma Haman, su ma in fwilin tulik natul Agag, el orala tari in lain mwet Jew.
And Esther spoke yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his plot that he had devised against the Jews.
4 Tokosra el asroela scepter gold lal nu sel, ouinge Esther el tuyak ac fahk,
Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,
5 “Fin wo ac suwohs ye mutun Tokosra, ac el fin nunku keik ac pakomutuk, lela in simla sie pac mwe fahkak in sikulya ma sap lal Haman, wen natul Hammedatha su ma ke fwilin tulik natul Agag, ma fahk mu in sikiyukla mwet Jew nukewa in tokosrai uh.
And said, If it shall please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing shall seem right before the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces:
6 Nga ac mutangla fuka ma koluk lulap se inge fin tuku nu fin mwet luk, ac sou luk sefacna elos anwuki?”
For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come to my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
7 Na Tokosra Ahasuerus el fahk nu sel Kasra Esther ac Mordecai, mwet Jew, “Liye, nga srupsrulak Haman ke sripen pwapa sulallal lal lain mwet Jew, ac nga sang lal Esther ma lal nukewa.
Then the king Ahasuerus said to Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.
8 Tusruktu kutena mwe fahkak ma supweyukelik inen tokosra ac sil lun tokosra oan kac tia ku in tulokinyuki. Finne ouinge, komtal ku in simis kutena ma komtal lungse nu sin mwet Jew, ac komtal ku in simusla inek kac, ac siliya ke ring lun tokosra.”
Write ye also for the Jews, as it pleaseth you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, no man may reverse.
9 Ma se inge sikyak ke len aklongoul tolu in malem aktolu, malem lun Sivan. Mordecai el solani mwet sim nukewa lun tokosra. El kaskas ac elos sim leta nu sin mwet Jew ac nu sin governor, mwet leum ac mwet fulat nukewa lun mutunfacl siofok longoul itkosr, mutawauk India me na nwe Ethiopia. Leta inge simla ke kas lun kais sie acn, ac ke luman sim lun kais sie acn, oayapa nu sin mwet Jew in kas lalos ac ouiyen sim lalos.
Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day of it; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the satraps, and the governors and princes of the provinces which are from India to Cush, an hundred and twenty and seven provinces, to every province according to the writing of it, and to every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
10 Leta nukewa simla inel Tokosra Ahasuerus ac siliyuki ke ring lun tokosra. Utukelik sin mwet kasrusr fin horse na mulac, ma tohfla mwe kulansap lal tokosra.
And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus’ name, and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:
11 Leta inge akkalemye lah tokosra el lela mwet Jew in siti nukewa in tukeni pwapa in sifacna loangelos. Mwet mweun lun kutena mutunfacl ku kutena acn fin tuku mweun nu selos, tulik natulos, ku mutan kialos, na mwet Jew elos ku in lainulos ac onelosla. Elos ku in sukelosla ac eis ma lalos nukewa tuh in ma wap.
In which the king granted the Jews who were in every city to gather themselves together, and to defend their lives, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to plunder them for spoil,
12 Ma sap se inge ac fah mutawauk orekmakinyuk fin acn Persia nufon, fal nu ke len se oakwuki in anwuki mwet Jew, len aksingoul tolu in malem aksingoul luo, malem in Adar.
Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
13 Enenu in sulkakinyuk oana sie ma sap, ac in akkalemyeyuk nu sin mwet nukewa in mutunfacl nukewa, tuh mwet Jew nukewa fah akola in foloksak nu sin mwet lokoalok lalos ke len sac.
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was proclaimed to all people, and that the Jews should be ready for that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
14 In oana oakwuk lal tokosra, mwet utuk kas elos kasrusr fin horse nutin tokosra, ac elos kasrusr ke mui na safla lalos. Ma sap sac oayapa sulkakinyuk in siti Susa.
So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.
15 Mordecai el illa liki inkul sin tokosra, ac el nukum nuknuk folfol ac fasrfasr lun tokosra, ac nuknuk lik orek ke linen sroninmutuk srik eoa, ac el puela sifal ke sie nuknuk yunla ke gold. Na inkanek Susa ah ngisyak ke sasa ac pusren engan lulap.
And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.
16 Mwet Jew elos arulana enganak ac mongi; elos insewowo ac pulakin mu elos ac kutangla.
The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
17 In siti ac mutunfacl nukewa, ku kutena acn ma mwe fahkak lun tokosra ritiyuk we, mwet Jew elos oru tuh in sie len lulap lalos, ke elos orek kufwa ac arulana engan. Ma inge pwanang mwet puspis saya weang mwet Jew, ke sripen elos mutawauk in sangeng sin mwet Jew.
And in every province, and in every city, wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
