< Daniel 11 >
1 El pa kasreyu ac loangeyu.
“And I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, my standing [is] for a strengthener, and for a stronghold to him;
and now, I declare to you truth: Behold, yet three kings are standing for Persia, and the fourth becomes far richer than all, and according to his strength by his riches he stirs up the whole, with the kingdom of Javan.
3 “Toko, na tokosra na pwengpeng se ac fah sikyak. El ac fah leumi tokosrai na lulap se, ac oru na ma el ac lungse oru uh.
And a mighty king has stood, and he has ruled a great dominion, and has done according to his will;
4 Tusruktu pacl se na ma tokosrai lal uh ac kui na pwaye uh, na ac musalelik ac kitakatelik nu ke ip akosr. Mwet in sou lal ac fah tia eis wal lal, a mwet saya ac fah aolul in leum, tusruktu elos ac tiana ku oana ke pacl ma el tuh tokosra uh.
and according to his standing is his kingdom broken, and divided to the four winds of the heavens, and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion that he ruled, for his kingdom is plucked up—and for others apart from these.
5 “Tokosra lun Egypt el ac arulana ku. Tusruktu siena sin mwet mweun fulat lal ac mau yohk ku la lukel, ac leumi sie tokosrai yohk liki na tokosrai lal uh.
And a king of the south—even of his princes—becomes strong, and prevails against him, and has ruled; a great dominion [is] his dominion.
6 In kutu yac toko, tokosra lun Egypt el ac fah orala sie akupasri nu sin tokosra lun Syria, ac sang acn se natul in payuk sel. Tusruktu, asruoki se inge ac tia oan paht, mweyen mutan sac, mukul tumal, tulik se natul, ac mutan kulansap ma welul som uh, nufon ac fah anwuki.
And at the end of years they join themselves together, and a daughter of the king of the south comes to the king of the north to do upright things; and she does not retain the power of the arm; and he does not stand, nor his arm; and she is given up, she, and those bringing her in, and her child, and he who is strengthening her in [these] times.
7 Ac tia paht tukun ma inge, na sie sin mukul in sou lun mutan sac ac fah tokosrala. El ac fah tuyak mweuni un mwet mweun lun tokosra lun Syria, utyak nu in pot ku lalos, ac kutangulosla.
And [one] has stood up from a branch of her roots, [in] his station, and he comes to the bulwark, indeed, he comes into a stronghold of the king of the north, and has worked against them, and has done mightily;
8 El ac fah eis ma sruloala in luman god lalos, ac ma saya su orekla ke gold ac silver ma kisakinyukla nu sin god inge, ac folokunla nu Egypt. Tukun kutu yac ma oasr misla inmasrlolos,
and also their gods, with their princes, with their desirable vessels of silver and gold, he brings in captivity [to] Egypt; and he stands more years than the king of the north.
9 tokosra lun Syria el ac sifil utyak nu fin acn Egypt, tusruktu ac folokinyukla el liki acn we.
And the king of the south has come into the kingdom, and turned back to his own land;
10 “Wen nutin tokosra lun acn Syria elos ac fah akoo elos in mweun, ac orani sie un mwet mweun na lulap. Sie selos ac fah pokla ma fin acn uh nufon oana sronot se, ac mweuni nien muta ku lun mwet lokoalok su ma kuhlusyukyak ke pot na ku.
and his sons stir themselves up, and have gathered a multitude of great forces, and he has certainly come in, and overflowed, and passed through, and he turns back, and they stir themselves up to his stronghold.
11 In kasrkusrak lal, tokosra lun Egypt el ac tuyak mweuni tokosra lun Syria, ac sruokya un mwet mweun na lulap se lal ah.
And the king of the south becomes embittered, and has gone forth and fought with him, with the king of the north, and has caused a great multitude to stand, and the multitude has been given into his hand,
12 El ac mau insefulatak ke kutangla lal, ac ke mwet mweun pus ma el uniya uh, tusruktu ac tia sifilpa oasr kutangla lal tok.
and he has carried away the multitude, his heart is high, and he has caused myriads to fall, and he does not become strong.
13 “Tokosra lun Syria el ac folokla ac sifilpa orani sie un mwet mweun lal su ac yohk liki ma meet ah. Na ke kutu yac tok, el ac foloko wi sie un mwet mweun na lulap ac kufwen mwe mweun puspis.
And the king of the north has turned back, and has caused a multitude to stand, greater than the first, and at the end of the times a second time he certainly comes in with a great force, and with much substance;
14 Na mwet puspis ac fah tukeni lain tokosra lun Egypt. Ac kutu mwet ma lungse orek lokoalok in facl sum, Daniel, ac fah wi tuyak lain tokosra lun Egypt ke sripen sie aruruma ma elos liye, tusruktu ac fah kutangyukla elos.
and in those times many stand up against the king of the south, and sons of the destroyers of your people lift themselves up to establish the vision—and they have stumbled.
15 Ouinge tokosra Syria el ac fah kuhlasla sie siti su arulana akkeyeyukla, ac sruokya. Mwet mweun lun Egypt elos ac fah tia sifil mweun — finne elos su wo emeet ke mweun, ac fah wanginla pac ku lalos.
And the king of the north comes in, and pours out a mound, and has captured fortified cities; and the arms of the south do not stand, nor the people of his choice, indeed, there is no power to stand.
16 Mwet Syria se ma utyak ac eisla acn inge uh ac oru na ma el lungse oru nu selos, ac wanginna lainyal. El ac fah tu in Fulan Wuleang ac leumi nufon acn we.
And he who is coming to him does according to his will, and there is none standing before him; and he stands in the desirable land, and [it is] wholly in his hand.
17 “Tokosra lun Syria el ac akoo elan oru fahsr se lal nu in acn inge, ac el ac us nufon mwet mweun lal welul. Na ke sripen el kena kunausla tokosrai lun mwet lokoalok lal, el ac fah oru sie pwapa in akasrui inmasrloltal, ac sang acn natul in payuk nusel. Tusruktu ma el ako in oru inge ac tiana fahla oana ma el nunku.
And he sets his face to go in with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; and he has worked, and the daughter of women he gives to him, to corrupt her; and she does not stand, nor is for him.
18 Tukun ma inge, el ac fah mweuni facl ma muta sisken meoa uh, ac kutangla acn pus selos. Tusruktu, sie mwet kol sac ac fah kutangulla, ac tulokinya orek funmwet lal. Aok, el ac folokonang ouiya koluk lun tokosra Syria nu facl sifacna.
And he turns back his face to the islands, and has captured many; and a prince has caused his reproach of himself to cease; without his reproach he turns [it] back to him.
19 Na tokosra sac el ac fah folokla nu nien muta ku lun mwet mweun in acn sel sifacna, tusruktu ac kutangyukla pac el, na ac pa ingan saflaiyal.
And he turns back his face to the strongholds of his land, and has stumbled and fallen, and is not found.
20 “Na sie pacna tokosra ac fah aolul, su ac fah supwala sie mwet leum lal in akkeokye mwet inge ke el akyokye tax lalos in akkasrupye tokosrai lal. Ac ke pacl na fototo, tokosra sac ac fah anwuki, tusruktu tia ye mutun mwet uh, ac tia pac ke mweun.”
And stood up on his station has [one] causing an exactor to pass over the honor of the kingdom, and in a few days he is destroyed, and not in anger, nor in battle.
21 Lipufan sac sifilpa fahk, “Tokosra se lun acn Syria tok uh ac mwet na koluk se su wangin suwohs la elan tokosrala, tusruktu el ac mahsrikyak na sruokya wal uh ke inkanek kutasrik lal.
And a despicable one has stood up on his station, and they have not given to him the splendor of the kingdom, and he has come in quietly, and has strengthened the kingdom by flatteries.
22 Kutena mwet ma lainul uh, finne mwet Tol Fulat lun God uh, ac fah pokyukla ac sisila elos.
And the arms of the flood are overflowed from before him, and are broken; and also the leader of the covenant.
23 Ke inkanek kikiap lal, el ac orek wuleang nu sin mutunfacl saya, na ku lal uh ac yokyokelik, finne kitin facl na srisrik pa el leumi.
And after they join themselves to him, he works deceit, and has increased, and has been strong by a few of the nation.
El ac oru akoo lal in sruokya kutu nien muta ku ma potyak, tusruktu pacl lal uh ac sa na in safla.
Peaceably even into the fertile places of the province He comes, and he has done that which his fathers did not, nor his fathers’ fathers; prey, and spoil, and substance, he scatters to them, and against fortifications he devises his plans, even for a time.
25 “El ac fah tuyak na orani sie un mwet mweun na lulap in mweuni tokosra lun Egypt, su ac akola pacna in mweun lainul ke sie pacna un mwet mweun na lulap ac fokoko. Tusruktu tokosra lun Egypt ac fah kiapweyukla, ac tiana orala ma el akoo in oru uh.
And he stirs up his power and his heart against the king of the south with a great force, and the king of the south stirs himself up to battle with a very great and mighty force, and does not stand, for they devise plans against him,
26 Mwet pwapa fulat ma el lulalfongi emeet sin mwet lal uh ac kunausulla. Pus sin mwet mweun lal ac fah anwuki, ac un mwet mweun lal uh ac fah sikiyukla.
and those eating his portion of food destroy him, and his force overflows, and many wounded have fallen.
27 Na tokosra luo inge ac fah tukeni muta mongo ke tepu sefanna, tusruktu ma eltal akoo uh ma na koluk, ac eltal ac tukenina kiapu sie sin sie. Eltal ac tiana eis ma eltal lungse uh, mweyen soenna sun pacl lun ma inge.
And both of the kings’ hearts [are] to do evil, and at one table they speak lies, and it does not prosper, for yet the end [is] at a time appointed.
28 Tokosra lun Syria el ac us ma wap nukewa ma el sruokya ke mweun ac folokla nu yen sel, ac el wotela sel mu el ac kunausla alu lun mwet lun God uh. Tusruktu el ac oru oana ma el lungse nwe tari, na el fah folokla nu in acn sel.
And he turns back [to] his land with great substance, and his heart [is] against the holy covenant, and he has worked, and turned back to his land.
29 “Ac tok, el ac fah sifilpa utyak ac mweuni acn Egypt, tusruktu ma ac sikyak ke fwil se inge ac tia oana fahsr se meet ah.
At the appointed time he turns back, and has come against the south, and it is not as the former, and as the latter.
30 Mwet Rome ac fah tuku ke oak meoa ac lainul, ac el ac fah arulana sangengla. “Na in kasrkusrak lal, el ac fah folokla ac srike in kunausla alu lun mwet lun God uh. El ac porongo ac oru oana kas in kasru ma mwet tila wi alu inge fahk nu sel uh.
And ships of Chittim have come in against him, and he has been pained, and has turned back, and has been insolent toward the holy covenant, and has worked, and turned back, and he understands concerning those forsaking the holy covenant.
31 Kutu sin mwet mweun lal ac arulana akfohkfokyela Tempul uh. Elos ac tulokinya kisa ma orek ke len nukewa uh, ac tulokunak Mwe Aksangeng na Upa sac.
And strong ones stand up out of him, and have defiled the sanctuary, the stronghold, and have turned aside the continual [sacrifice], and appointed the desolating abomination.
32 Ke inkanek kutasrik lal, tokosra el ac eisla insien mwet ma srola liki alu lalos uh, ac elos fah akkeyal, tusruktu elos su srakna fahsr tukun God elos ac tu na ku ac lainul.
And those acting wickedly [against] the covenant, he defiles by flatteries; and the people knowing their God are strong, and have worked.
33 Mwet kol ma lalmwetmet inmasrlon mwet uh ac fah sang etauk lalos in kasru mwet puspis. Tusruktu ke pacl na fototo, kutu selos ac fah misa ke mweun, ac kutu ac fah isisyak, ac kutu ac fah pusrla ma lalos, ac utukla elos nu in presin.
And the teachers of the people give understanding to many; and they have stumbled by sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil—days.
34 Ke pacl ma anwuk inge orek uh, ac fah oasr kitin kasru nu sin mwet lun God, finne kutu mwet uh welulosla ke na sripen elos suk ma in wo nu selos sifacna.
And in their stumbling, they are helped—a little help, and joined to them have been many with flatteries.
35 Kutu sin mwet kol ma lalmwetmet ac fah anwuki, ac ke sripen misa lalos, mwet uh ac fah aknasnasyeyukla. Ac fah oana inge nwe ke safla pacl uh, pacl se ma God El oakiya.
And some of the teachers stumble for refining by them, and for purifying, and for making white—until the end of the time, for [it is] yet for a time appointed.
36 “Tokosra lun Syria el ac oru na ma el lungse oru. El ac konkin ac fahk mu el fulat liki kutena god, ac fulat liki pac God Fulatlana. El ac ku in oru ouinge nwe ke na sun pacl se ma God El akola in sang kai nu sel. God El ac oru oana ma El ako mu El ac oru.
And the king has done according to his will, and exalts himself, and magnifies himself against every god, and he speaks wonderful things against the God of gods, and has prospered until the indignation has been completed, for that which is determined has been done.
37 Tokosra el ac fah pilesru god su mwet matu lal elos tuh kulansap nu se, ac oayapa god se su mutan elos lungse. Aok, el ac pilesru god nukewa, mweyen el pangon el fulat lukelos nukewa.
And to the God of his fathers he does not attend, nor to the desire of women, indeed, he does not attend to any god, for he magnifies himself against all.
38 A el ac akfulatye na god se ma karingin nien muta lun mwet mweun ma potiyukyak uh, ac sang mwe sang ke gold, silver, wek saok, ac kutu pac mwe lung wowo nu sin god ma mwet matu lal elos tia wi alu nu se uh.
And to the god of strongholds, on his station, he gives honor; indeed, to a god whom his fathers did not know he gives honor, with gold, and with silver, and with precious stone, and with desirable things.
39 El ac orekmakin mwet su alu nu sin sie god lun mwetsac in loango inkul potyak lun mwet mweun lal uh. El ac arulana akfulatye mwet ma akilen mu el mwet kol lalos, ac sang nien muta fulat nu selos, oayapa kitalos acn, in mwe srui nu selos.
And he has dealt in the fortresses of the strongholds with a strange god whom he has acknowledged; he multiplies honor, and has caused them to rule over many, and the ground he apportions at a price.
40 “Ke apkuran in sun ao safla lun tokosra lun Syria, tokosra lun Egypt el ac tuyak mweunel, ac tokosra Syria el ac lainul pac ke kuiyal nufon. El ac orekmakin chariot, horse, ac oak meoa pukanten. El ac utyak oana kof ke sie sronot, ac eisla mutunfacl puspis.
And at the time of the end, a king of the south pushes himself forward with him, and a king of the north storms against him, with chariot, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he has come into the lands, and has overflowed, and passed over,
41 El ac fah utyak pac mweuni Fulan Wuleang, ac uniya ngoul tausin mwet, tusruk acn Edom, acn Moab, ac acn lula lun Ammon ac fah painmoulla.
and has come into the desirable land, and many stumble, and these escape from his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.
42 Ke el ac utyak mweuni acn inge nukewa, acn Egypt ac fah sruhu pac.
And he sends forth his hand on the lands, and the land of Egypt is not for an escape;
43 El ac fah usla pac gold, silver, ac ma saok saya nukewa ma wikinyukla oan in acn Egypt. El ac fah kutangla pac acn Libya ac Ethiopia.
and he has ruled over treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the desirable things of Egypt, and Lubim and Cushim [are] at his steps.
44 Na pweng ma ac tuku liki acn kutulap ac eir uh ac fah aksangengyal, ac el ac mweun arulana upa, ac uniya mwet na pukanten.
And reports trouble him out of the east and out of the north, and he has gone forth in great fury to destroy, and to devote many to destruction;
45 El ac fah tulokunak pac lohm nuknuk na lulap lal inmasrlon meoa ac eol soko ma Tempul uh oan we. Tusruktu el ac misa, ac wangin mwet ac muta yorol in kasrel.”
and he plants the tents of his palace between the seas and the holy desirable mountain, and has come to his end, and there is no helper to him.”
