< Yohana 4 >
1 Pakhuva u Yesu avile alomanyile ukhuta Mafalisayo vapulikhe ukhuta u Yesu alena vakongi nukhuvoncha khulikho u Yohana,
When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and immersing more disciples than John
2 (pakhuva Yesu yumwene salekhwoncha ila avakongi vamwene),
(although Jesus himself did not immerse, but his disciples),
3 akhumile khu Yudea akhaluta khu Galilaya.
he left Judea, and departed into Galilee.
4 Evo yale lasima okhugendela khu Samalia.
And it was necessary for him to pass through Samaria.
5 Pu akhafikha khukhelunga ekhwa Samalia, ekhekhikhelangiwa Siakari, uvuvubadaninie ne khelunga akhyapile u Yakobo oswambe u Yusufu.
So he comes to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the place that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Ne khekholo khwa Yakobo khwalepo apo. U Yesu agatile nukhugenda pwa khatama palukanji pakhekhulu. Khale khasekhe khapa musi.
And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore being wearied from the journey, thus was sitting on the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 Udala Osamalia ainchile khunega amagasi, nu Yesu akhanchova, “Ime amagasi nenywe.”
A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink.
8 Pakhuva avakongi vamwene vakhalutile khujini khwigula ekhyakhula.
For his disciples had gone away into the city so that they might buy food.
9 Udala ola akhambula, “Ndakhekhi uvenjahudi, akhondoma one nedala ne Samalia, akhenu ekhwa khunywa?” Pakhuva Avayahudi savikhekhanjanwa na Vasamalia.
The Samaritan woman therefore says to him, How do thou, being Jewish, ask to drink from me, being a Samaritan woman, for Jews do not associate with Samaritans?
10 U Yesu akhanda, “Inave akhemanyile ekhikungelwa ekhwa Nguluve, nu munu avikhukhuvola, 'Ime magasi,' ukhalevukhodova, akhale ikhukhupa amagasi aga wumi.”
Jesus answered and said to her, If thou had known the gift of God, and who it is who says to thee, Give me to drink, thou would have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 Udala khanda, “Imbakha ulevovole endovo eyakhunegela, ne khekholo khetali. Vukhugavona ndakhu amagasi aga wumi?
The woman says to him, Sir, thou have not even a container, and the well is deep. From where then have thou the living water?
12 Uveve ve mbakha, khuliko ababa veto o Yakobo, avakhatupile ekhekholo ekhe, yu mwene na vana va mwene voni paninie ni senga incha mwene nchikhanywa amagasi pa khekholo ekhe?”
Are thou greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, and his sons, and his livestock?
13 UYesu akhanda, “vevoni uyinywa amagasi aga ipata ekhamu tena,
Jesus answered and said to her, Every man who drinks of this water will thirst again,
14 inave uvinywa amagasi aganikhupa one siwesya okhupata ekhemu tena. Pakhuva amagasi aganikhupa giva lumiminukho ulolukhwedekha isikhu nchooni.” (aiōn , aiōnios )
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will, no, not thirst into the age. But the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. (aiōn , aiōnios )
15 Udala ola akhambula, “Imbakha nidove amagasi ago nelekhe okhwumila tena, nelekhe okhotesekha okhwincha apa khwinega amagasi.”
The woman says to him, Give me this water, sir, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw out.
16 U Yesu akhambula, “Luta khamwilango ogosi, pu vuye.”
Jesus says to her, Go, call thy husband, and come here.
17 Udala akhambula, “Nelevovole ogosi.” UYesu akhanda, “Onchovile vononu, 'Ulevovole ugosi;'
The woman answered and said to him, I have no husband. Jesus says to her, Thou said correctly, I have no husband.
18 Pakhuva uvile na vagosi vakhano tena oveulenave leno sio igosi vakho, pakhuva unchovile lweli!”
For thou have had five husbands, and he whom thou now have is not thy husband. This thou have said true.
19 Udala akhambula, “Imbakha nivona ukhuta oveve ve nyamalago.
The woman says to him, Sir, I perceive that thou are a prophet.
20 Ava baba veto vaisayile mukhe wamba ekhe. Pakhuva omwe mwinchova mwita Yelusalemu lyo lieneo alwa vanu lwa khwesayela.”
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where it is necessary to worship.
21 U Yesu akhanda, “Ovedala, inyedekhe, akhasekhe khikhwincha sokhesaye khwa Baba pa khewa mba ekhe au Yerusalemu.
Jesus says to her, Woman, believe me, that the hour is coming when neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem will ye worship the Father.
22 Mwe vanu mukhesaya ekhesa mukhevona, pakhuva twikhesaya ekhetukhevona, pakhuva ovolokhole vukhuma khu Vayahudi.”
Ye worship what ye do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.
23 Inave evo, osekhe gukhwincha, leno ogo apa, osekhe ogu vovikhesaya elweli yuvikhesaya khwa Baba khu mepo nelweli, pakhuva u Baba ikhovalonda avanu ndava ukhuta vanu vamwene avavi khesaya.
But an hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for also the Father seeks such kind who worship him.
24 U Nguluve ve Mepo, na avavikhesaya yenogelanile okhwesaya khu mepo ne lweli.”
God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
25 Udala akhambula, “Nelumanyile ukhuta u Yesu ikhwincha, (Ovikhelangiwa Klisiti). Oywa voikhwincha ikhotuvula gooni.” U Yesu akhavavola,
The woman says to him, I know that Messiah comes, he who is called Christ. When that man comes he will declare all things to us.
26 “One vevunchova nene.”
Jesus says to her, I who speak to thee am the man.
27 Osekhe gugugwa avakongi vamwene vakhakilivokha. Navope vakhaswiga khekhi inchoova nudala, pakhu akhasipali avakhavonchinche, “Vunogwa ekhekhi?” au khekhi vunchovanave oyo?”
And upon this his disciples came. And they marveled that he spoke with the woman, yet no man said, What seek thou? or, Why do thou speak with her?
28 Pu dala akhalelekha elitenchi akhalula khujini khuvavola avanu,
The woman therefore left her water pot, and departed into the city, and says to the men,
29 “Mwinche mulole umunu ovyanchovile imbombo nchooni inchinevombile, te yiwesekhana ukhuta ve Klisiti?”
Come, see a man who told me all, as many things as I did. Is not this the Christ?
30 Vakhakhuma khumuji vakhincha khu mwene.
They went out of the city, and came to him.
31 Akhasekhe khapamusi avakongi va mwene vakhanchova, “Rabi lwiya ekhwakhula.”
In the meanwhile the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
32 Pakhuva omwene akhanchova, “One nelenakhwo ekhyakholwa ekhesamukhemanyile omwe.”
But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not.
33 Avakongi vakhavolana, asipali uva ndetile ekhenu khyokhyoni, “Je vakhaletite?”
The disciples therefore said to each other, Did any man bring him to eat?
34 U Yesu akhavavula, “Ekhyakholwa khyango khuvomba uvonogelanile vwa mwene avyasukhile nu khuvomba indagelo incha mwene.
Jesus says to them, My food is that I do the will of him who sent me, and may finish his work.
35 Te, samunchova, 'Pakhuva akhasekhe khadebe uvubeni vyango vuva tayali?' Nikhuvavula lolaga ifyalo vofilitayali khu vubeni!
Do ye not say, There are still four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, that they are already white for harvest.
36 Omwene ovibena ikhupelela emisahala nukhuvundanwa isekhe incha wumi wa sikhu nchoni, pakhuva uyivilwa nu vibena va lakhekhelaga pupaninie. (aiōnios )
And he who reaps receives a wage and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios )
37 Pakhuva ovonchovi ovu wayelweli, 'Oyunge iviala oyunge ibena.'
For in this the saying is true, One is who sows, and another who reaps.
38 Navasukhile khwibene ekhe tava samukhavombele, avange vavombile embombo omwe mwingile ndo khekhelo olwa mbombo eyavene.”
I sent you to reap what ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
39 Avasamalia vingi vakhamwedekha pakhuva khululagelo ulwa dala ole avale khunchova ne mivele, “Ovekhambulile imbombo nchooni inchine khavombile.”
And many of the Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, He told me all, as many things as I did.
40 Pakhuva Avasamalia vavile vinchile vakhadova okhutama navo pupaninie navene puakhatama khuvene isikhu ivele.
So when the Samaritans came to him they asked him to remain with them, and he remained there two days.
41 Vuvingi vakhamwedekha pakhuva khumamenyu gavene.
And many more believed because of his word.
42 Vakhambula udala ola, “Tukhwekha sio khumamenyu gakho, pakhuva yufwe tupulikhe, leno putulumanyile ukhuta umwene ve mbakha va khelunga.”
And they said to the woman, We no longer believe because of thy speaking, for we have heard ourselves, and know that this really is the Savior of the world, the Christ.
43 Osekhe ogwa vigono vivele, akhakhega nukhuluta khu Galilaya.
And after the two days he departed from there and went into Galilee.
44 Pakhuva yumwene akhanchovile ukhuta venyamalago alevovole ulwedekho khukhelunga khya mwene.
For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own fatherland.
45 Vuinchile okhukhuma khu Galilaya, ava Galilaya vakhamwupelela, vakhanchiwene imbombo nchooni inchakhavombile khu Yerusalemu mu shelekhe, pakhuva navope vule muvale mushelekhe.
So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.
46 Akhincha tena khu Kana eya Galilaya ukhwa ukhwagewisye amagasi ukhuva inkisa. Palepo nu mbakha oswambe ale intamu khu Kapernaumu.
Jesus therefore came again to Cana of Galilee where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 Vuapulikhe ukhuta u Yesu akhumile khu Yudea nu khuluta khu Galilaya, akhaluta khwa Yesu nu khudova amwokhole omuialeve, avale kholonda okhufwa.
This man having heard that Jesus comes out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and besought him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was going to die.
48 Pu Yesu akhambula, “Umwe mungalekhe okholola ishara ne vidego samukhawesye ukhwedekha.
Jesus therefore said to him, Unless ye may see signs and wonders, ye will, no, not believe.
49 Ondongonchi akhanchova, “Imbakha ekha pasi khetave omwalevango safwile.”
The nobleman says to him, Sir, come down before my child dies.
50 U Yesu akhambula lutaga omwalevo inkafu, “Umunu ola akhedekha elimenyu alelekhanchoviwe nu Yesu akhekhegela.
Jesus says to him, Go, thy son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus said to him, and he departed.
51 Pu avile avavombi vamwene vakhamwopela nukhumbula umwaleve ale inkafu.
And as he was now going down, his bondmen met him and reported, saying, Thy boy lives.
52 Pu akhavavuncha osekhe gule khu akhale khuba. Vakhanda, “Pamikhe akhasekhe akha saa saba ovotamu vokhandekha.”
So he inquired of them the hour in which he fared well. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 Pu babaye akhagundula okhuta akhasekhe khala khala akhanchovile uYesu, “Omwalevo inkafu.” Pu mwene na valokololwe vakhamwedekha.
So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son lives. And he himself believed and his whole house.
54 Eye yale ishala ya vele eya vombile u Yesu voakhumile khu Yudea ukhuluta khu Galilaya.
This again is a second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
