1 Qachalal, kꞌisbꞌal re, chibꞌana chꞌawem pa qawiꞌ rech jeriꞌ aninaq kachikon ubꞌixik ri utzij ri Dios xuqujeꞌ nim kilik are kakꞌamawaꞌxik, jetaq ri xkꞌulmataj iwukꞌ ix.
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, as also with you,
2 Chibꞌana xuqujeꞌ chꞌawem rech man kujqaj ta pa kiqꞌabꞌ itzel taq winaq, jeriꞌ rumal man konojel taj kꞌo kikojobꞌal pa Jesucristo.
and that we may be delivered from evil and malignant men; for not all have faith.
3 Ri Ajawxel kꞌut kubꞌan na ri kubꞌij, areꞌ kuya na ichuqꞌabꞌ xuqujeꞌ kixukol na cho ri Itzel.
But the Lord is faithful, who will strengthen you and guard you from the malignant one.
4 Kuꞌl qakꞌuꞌx chirij ri Ajawxel chi ri ix kibꞌano xuqujeꞌ kibꞌan na ri qakꞌutum chiꞌwach.
We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command.
5 Are bꞌa ri Dios chixutoꞌ rech jeriꞌ kixloqꞌanik xuqujeꞌ rech kajeqiꞌ ikꞌuꞌx jetaq ri xubꞌan ri Cristo xuchap ukꞌuꞌx churiqik ri kꞌaxal.
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the perseverance of Christ.
6 Qachalal, pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Ajawxel Jesucristo kixqataqchiꞌj rech kiqꞌat iwibꞌ che ri alaxik ri man je taj tajin kanoqꞌijik jetaq ri kubꞌij ri kꞌutuꞌn ri xqaya chiꞌwe.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who behaves irresponsibly and not according to the tradition that they received from us.
7 Ri ix iwetaꞌm jas rajawaxik kibꞌano rech je kixnoꞌjinik jetaq ri kujnoꞌjin uj. Man xujqꞌiꞌtaj taj are xujkꞌojiꞌ iwukꞌ.
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we did not behave irresponsibly among you;
8 Xuqujeꞌ man xaq ta xqatij ri iwa xane xqatoj chiꞌwe. Xujchakunik rukꞌ chuqꞌabꞌ chi paqꞌij chi chaqꞌabꞌ rech jeriꞌ man xujux ta jun eqaꞌn chike jujun chiꞌwe.
neither did we eat anyone's bread without paying; rather we worked night and day, with difficulty and hardship, so as not to be a burden to any of you;
9 Jeriꞌ xqabꞌano, man xa ta rumal mat taqal chaqe kaqakꞌam ri tobꞌanik, xane are kaqaj kaqakꞌut chiꞌwach jas ri taqalik kixnoꞌjinik.
not because we do not have the right, but in order to offer ourselves to you as a model for you to imitate.
10 Jeriꞌ rumal are xujkꞌojiꞌk iwukꞌ xqabꞌij chiꞌwe: Chi ri man karaj taj kachakunik, man waꞌ bꞌa.
Yes, because when we were with you we gave you this command: “If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat!”
11 Xqetaꞌmaj chi e kꞌo jujun chiꞌxoꞌl ri xaq e saqꞌor, man kakaj taj kechakunik xuqujeꞌ kakinim kibꞌ pa taq kꞌulmatajik ke nikꞌaj chik.
Yet we hear that some among you are behaving irresponsibly; not working, just meddling.
12 Keꞌqataqchiꞌj we winaq riꞌ xuqujeꞌ keꞌqayajo pa ri Ajawxel Jesucristo rech jeriꞌ kechakunik pa jororemal rech kakichꞌek ri kakitijo.
Now to such individuals we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.
13 Ri ix kꞌut qachalal, mixqꞌiꞌtajik chubꞌanik ri utzilal.
But as for you, brothers, do not lose heart in well doing.
14 We kꞌo jun man kunimaj ta we xqabꞌij chiꞌwe pa we wuj riꞌ, chitzujuj chikiwach konojel xuqujeꞌ makiwachiꞌlaj taj rech jeriꞌ kel ukꞌixibꞌal.
If anyone does not obey our word in this letter, take note of him and do not associate with him, that he may be shamed;
15 Pune jeriꞌ kubꞌano, mibꞌan ikꞌulel che, xaq xwi chiyajaꞌ jetaq ri kibꞌano che jun iwachalal.
yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 Are ri Ajawxel rech jaꞌmaril chuya jaꞌmaril chiꞌwe pa ronojel ri kꞌaxkꞌolal. Are ri Ajawxel kakanaj kanoq iwukꞌ iwonojel.
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you the peace during every situation, in every way. The Lord be with you all.
