ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 16
And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
Thou shall not take to thee a wife, —Neither shalt thou have sons or daughters, in this place.
3 ೩ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಗಂಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತ ತಾಯಿಯರು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದ ತಂದೆಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ, ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆ ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ,
For, Thus, saith Yahweh, Concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are being born in this place, —and concerning their mothers who do bear them, and concerning their fathers who do beget them, in this land,
4 ೪ ಅವರು ಘೋರವಾದ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವರು, ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಯಾರೂ ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಹೂಣಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೊಬ್ಬರವಾಗುವರು. ಖಡ್ಗವೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮವೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡುವವು; ಅವರ ಹೆಣಗಳು ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಜಂತುಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಹಾರವಾಗುವವು” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
Of deaths from diseases, shall they die, They shall not be lamented, Neither shall they be buried, As heaps of dung on the face of the ground, shall they serve, —Yea by sword and by famine, shall they be consumed, And, their dead bodies shall become, food—To the bird of the heavens, and To the beast of the earth.
5 ೫ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ಗೋಳಾಟದ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಬೇಡ, ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ, ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದೆ ಬಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂ ಬೇಡ. ನಾನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು, ಅಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗು ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನೂ ಈ ಜನರಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನಷ್ಟೆ.
For, Thus, saith Yahweh—Do not thou enter into the house of crying, Neither do thou go to lament, nor do thou bemoan for them, —For I have withdrawn my blessing from this people, Declareth Yahweh, Both lovingkindness and compassion.
6 ೬ ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ದೊಡ್ಡವರೂ. ಅಲ್ಪರೂ ಸಾಯುವರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಹೂಣಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಯಾರೂ ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಗಾಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ತಲೆಬೋಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
So shall great and small die in this land, They shall not be buried, —Neither shall men lament for them Nor cut themselves, Nor make themselves bald for them;
7 ೭ ಸತ್ತವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದುಃಖಪಡುವವರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಾರೂ ಕಜ್ಜಾಯವನ್ನು ಹಂಚುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂದೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕಳಕೊಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಾಯಕ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Neither shall they break bread to them in mourning To console one over his dead, —Nor cause them to drink the cup of consolation, Over one’s father Or over one’s mother;
And the house of banqueting, shall thou not enter To sit with them, To eat and to drink.
9 ೯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರೂ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾತನು ಹೀಗೆಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹರ್ಷಸಂಭ್ರಮಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ವಧೂವರರ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನೂ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದೊಳಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು.’
For, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! causing to cease out of this place, Before your eyes, And in your days, The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, The voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride,
10 ೧೦ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರು, ‘ಈ ಮಹಾವಿಪತ್ತು ನಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಏಕೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ? ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧವೇನು? ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪವೇನು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವಾಗ,
And it shall be when thou shalt declare to this people, all these words, —and they shall say unto thee—For what reason, hath Yahweh pronounced against us all this great calamity? Or what is our iniquity, or what our sin, which we have sinned against Yahweh our God?
11 ೧೧ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, ‘ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಪೂಜಿಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ನನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ,
Then shalt thou say unto them, —For that your fathers forsook, me, Declareth Yahweh, And walked after other gods, and served them, and bowed down to them, —Whereas me, they forsook And my law, kept they not;
12 ೧೨ ಇಗೋ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಟಹೃದಯದ ಹಟದಂತೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ,
And, ye, have done more wickedly than your fathers, —for look at you! walking every man after the stubbornness of his wicked heart, so as not to hearken unto me,
13 ೧೩ ನೀವಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಾಗಲಿ ನೋಡದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಸೆದುಬಿಡುವೆನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವಿರಿ; ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Therefore will I hurl you forth, from off this land, unto a land which ye have not known, ye, nor your fathers, —and ye can serve there other gods day and night, in that I will grant you no favour.
14 ೧೪ “ಇಗೋ, ಮುಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು,
Therefore lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When it shall be said no more By the life of Yahweh, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt; but—
15 ೧೫ ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಬಡಗಣ ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೂ, ತಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಸಕಲ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡುವರು; ನಾನು ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿಸುವೆನಷ್ಟೆ” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಘೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
By the life of Yahweh, who hath brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of the North, and out of all the lands whither he had driven them, —So will I bring them back upon their own soil, which I gave to their fathers.
16 ೧೬ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹು ಮಂದಿ ಬೆಸ್ತರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸುವೆನು; ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಂಡೆಗಳ ಸಂದುಗೊಂದುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ, ಬೇಟೆಯಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹುಜನ ಬೇಡರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸುವೆನು.
Behold me! sending for many fishers Declareth Yahweh, And they shall catch them, —and thereafter will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from off every mountain and from off every hill, and out of the clefts of the crags.
17 ೧೭ ನಾನು ಅವರ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ಅಧರ್ಮವು ನನಗೆ ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗೇ ಇದೆ.
For mine own eyes are upon all their ways, they have not been hid from my face—neither hath their iniquity been concealed from being straight before mine eyes.
18 ೧೮ ಅವರ ಅಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೂ, ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೂ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಕೊಡುವೆನು; ಹೆಣಗಳಂತಿರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೇಯವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊಲಸುಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವತ್ತನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದ್ದಾರಷ್ಟೆ.”
Thus will I recompense, first, twofold, their iniquity and their sin, because of their profaning my land, —with the carcase of their disgusting and detestable things, have they filled mine inheritance.
19 ೧೯ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಬಲವೇ, ಬಲವಾದ ನನ್ನ ದುರ್ಗವೇ, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯವೇ, ಲೋಕದ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಶುದ್ಧ ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು, ಮಾಯವನ್ನು, ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾರಂಪರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಅರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವರು.
O Yahweh, my strength, and my refuge, and my place to fly to, in the day of distress, —Unto thee, shall nations come in, out of the ends of the earth, that they may say—Surely! Falsehood, did our fathers inherit, Vanity, among whom is none that can profit:
Shall a son of earth, make for himself gods, Seeing that, they, are no-gods?
21 ೨೧ ಈ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ, ಇಗೋ, ಇದೊಂದೇ ಸಲ ನನ್ನ ಭುಜಬಲವನ್ನೂ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುವೆನು, ಹೌದು, ಗ್ರಹಿಸಮಾಡುವೆನು; ನನ್ನ ನಾಮಧೇಯವು “ಯೆಹೋವ” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.
Therefore behold me! causing them to know, by this stroke, I will cause them to know my hand and my might, —That they may know that my name, is Yahweh!
