1 Hagi Asa nona nemofo Jehosafati erino Juda vahe kinia mani'neno, Israeli vahe'mo'za ha'ma eme huzmante zankura kuma'a eri hankaveti'ne.
Asa’s son Jehoshaphat became the king [of Judah], and he enabled his army to become very strong, with the result that they could resist attacks from [the army of] Israel.
2 Hagi sondia vahe'aramina huzmantege'za Juda mopafima me'nea ranra kumatmina ome kva hu'za nemani'zageno, mago'a sondia vahera huzmantege'za ko'ma nefa Asa'ma Efraemu mopafi me'nea kumatmima ha'ma huno hanare'nea kumatamina ome kegava hu'naze.
He put soldiers in all the cities in Judah around which they had built walls, and he put soldiers in other places in Judah and in the towns in the area belonging to the tribe of Ephraim that [soldiers of] his father Asa had captured.
3 Hagi Ra Anumzamo'a Jehosafeti'ene mani'ne. Na'ankure agra kinima nemanino'a, negeho Deviti'ma agafa huno kinima nemanino knare avu'ava'ma hu'neaza huno, Bali havi anumzantera monora huonte'ne.
Yahweh helped Jehoshaphat because when he started [to rule Judah], he did the things that pleased Yahweh like his ancestor [King] David had done. He did not worship the idols of Baal.
4 Hianagi Jehosafati'a Israeli vahe avu'avara amagera onteno, negeho Anumzamofo amage'nenteno kasege'a kegava huno amage'ante'ne.
Instead, he sought advice from the God whom his father [had worshiped], and he obeyed God’s commands, and did not do the [evil things that the kings of] Israel continually did.
5 E'ina hu'negu Ra Anumzamo'a kinima mani'zana agri azampi anteno azeri hankavetigeno, mika Juda vahe'mo'za musezana eri'za eme ami'naze. Ana'ma hazageno'a Jehosafati'a tusi feno antegeno, agimo'a mareri'ne.
Yahweh enabled him to completely control his kingdom. All [the people of] Judah brought gifts to him, with the result that he became very rich and was greatly honored.
6 Hagi agra hankvetino Ra Anumzamofona amage'nenteno mika Juda mopafintira havi anumzamofonte mono'ma hunentaza agona kumatmina erihaviza nehuno, Asera havi anumzamofo amema'ama antre'za tro huntene'zama mono'ma nehaza zafaramina antagi atre'ne.
He was completely devoted to doing what pleased Yahweh. His workers got rid of the shrines on the hilltops and the poles for [worshiping the goddess] Asherah throughout Judah.
7 Hagi Jehosafati'ma 3'a kafuma kinima nemanino'a, eri'za vahe'aramina Ben-hailimima, Obadiama, Zekaraiama, Netanelima, Makaiama huno huzmantege'za, Juda rankumatamimpi Ra Anumzamofo kasege ome rempi huzami'za vano hu'naze.
When he had been ruling [Judah] for almost three years, he sent some of his officials—Ben-Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah—to teach the people in various towns in Judah.
8 Hagi ana kva vahetamima zmazamahu Livae vahetmina, Semaia'ma, Netanaia'ma, Zebadaia'ma, Asaheli'ma, Semiramoti'ma Jehonatani'ma, Adonija'ma, Tobia'ma, Tob-Adonija'e. Hagi pristi netre'na Elisa'ene Jehoramuke anampina vu'na'e.
With them he sent several descendants of Levi—Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-Adonijah—and two priests, Elishama and Jehoram.
9 Hagi ana vahetmimo'za Ra Anumzamofo kasege avontafe eri'neza maka Juda mopafima me'nea ranra kumatamimpi vano nehu'za, vahera rempi huzmi'naze.
They took with them a scroll on which were written the laws of Yahweh and taught them to the people in all the towns throughout Judah,
10 Hagi Juda mopamofo tavaonte'ma manigagi'naza vahetmimo'za Ra Anumzamofonkura tusi koro nehu'za, Jehosafatina hara eme huonte'naze.
The people in all the kingdoms surrounding Judah became very afraid of [what Yahweh might do to punish them if they fought against Judah], so they did not start wars with Jehoshaphat’s army.
11 Hagi mago'a Filistia vahe'mo'za musezane silva zagonena takisi eri'za eme nemizageno, Arabia vahe'mo'zanena 7tausen 700'a ve sipisipi afutminki, 7tausen 700'a ve meme afutminki hu'za avre'za eme ami'naze.
Some people from Philistia brought gifts to Jehoshaphat, and they also brought to him the silver that he demanded that they pay to him. Some Arabs brought to him 7,700 rams and 7,700 goats.
12 Hagi Jehosafati'a hankavenentake kini fore nehuno, maka Juda mopafima me'nea ranra kumatamimpina vihu kegina nehuno, kave'ma ante kumataminena kinenteno,
Jehoshaphat continued to become more powerful/influential. His workers built forts and places to store supplies in various towns in Judah.
13 nezantmina ana kumatmimpina ante avitente'ne. Hagi koro osu'za hankavematiza ha'ma nehaza sondia vahetmina, Jerusalemi kumapi zamavare atru hige'za mani'naze.
Then they put large amounts of supplies in those storehouses. Jehoshaphat also placed in Jerusalem soldiers who were experienced.
14 Hagi ana sondia vahetmima nagate nofite'ma hu'zama zamagima kre'za eri fatgoma hu'nazana vahete kva vahe'mo'za 1tauseni'a sondia vahe kegava hazageno, Juda nagapima 300 tauseni'a sondia vahe'ma kegavama hu'naza sondia kva vahete, Adna'a kva higeno,
The leaders and numbers from each tribe were as follows: From the tribe of Judah, Adnah was the leader of the soldiers, and he commanded 300,000 soldiers.
15 anantera Jehohanani'a 280 tauseni'a sondia vahete kva higeno,
His assistant was Jehohanan, who commanded 280,000 soldiers.

Next was Zicri’s son Amasiah, who volunteered to serve Yahweh in this way; he commanded 200,000 soldiers.
17 Hagi Benzameni nagapintira, Eliada'a atine kevene hankonema erino ha'ma hu sondia vahetmina 200 tauseni'a vahete kva higeno,
From the tribe of Benjamin, Eliada, who was a brave soldier, was the leader of the soldiers; he commanded 200,000 men who had bows [and arrows] and shields.
18 anantera Jehosabeti'a 180 tauseni'a sondia vahetmima hate'ma vunaku'ma tro'ma hu'naza vahetami kva hu'ne.
Next was Jehozabad, who commanded 180,000 men who had weapons for fighting battles.
19 Hagi ama ana maka vahera kini ne'mofo eri'za vahetamine. Hagi mago'a vahetmina maka Juda mopafima me'nea ranra vihu kumatmimpi manitere hu'naze.
Those were the soldiers who served the king [in Jerusalem], in addition to the men whom the king had placed in the other cities in Judah that had walls around them.
