1 Thesalonike 1

1 uPaulo, Silwano nu Timatheo ku Itekeelo nila ku Thesaloniki mung'wa Itunda Tata nua Mukulu uYesu Kristo. Ukende nu ulyuuku utule nu nyenye.

Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.

2 Ki ipumya ilumbi kung'wa Itunda kila nkua ku nsoko anyu mihi, matungo ni kuumuta mu malompi itu.

We give praise to God at all times for you, keeping you in memory in our prayers;

3 Kimikimbukiilya shanga kukondya ntongeela ang'wa Itunda Tata i ilimo anyu nu uhuiili, kinya ngulu nika ulowa, nu ugimya nu ukete i kinyangulu kunsoko a panyambele mu Mukulu uYesu Kristo.

Having ever in mind your work of faith and acts of love and the strength of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

4 Anyandugu ni muloilwe ni Itunda, kulingile u witangwi nua nyu.

Being conscious, my brothers, dear to God, that you have been marked out by God's purpose;

5 Ni kinya inkani ninza ni itu nai izile kitalanyu shanga ku nkani duu, ila ga nu ku ngulu, mu Ng'wau Ng'waelu, nu mu kulu kuulu. Ku mpyani yiyo, mulingile ga nu sese ai katulaa antu a mpyani kii mukati anyu kunsoko anyu.

Because our good news came to you, not in word only, but in power, and in the Holy Spirit, so that you were completely certain of it; even as you saw what our behaviour to you was like from our love to you.

6 Ai matulaa antu a kuigiilya usese ku Mukulu, anga nai musingiiye u lukani mu lwago ki iloeelya ni lipembeeye kung'wa Ng'wau Ng'welu.

And you took us and the Lord as your example, after the word had come to you in much trouble, with joy in the Holy Spirit;

7 Ni mapumilo akwe, mikatula mpyani ku ihi mu Mekadonia ni Akaiya naza ahuiie.

So that you became an example to all those who have faith in Christ in Macedonia and Achaia.

8 Ku nsoko kupuma kitalanyuu lukani nulang'wa Itunda lekondaniie pihi. nu sese ku Mekadonia ni Akaiya ing'wene du. Badala akwe, ku kila kianza u uhuiili nua nyu kung'wa Itunda lukondaniile pihi. Ni mapumilo akwe, shanga kukete nsula kuligitya kihi.

For not only was the word of the Lord sounding out from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith in God is made clear; so that we have no need to say anything.

9 Kunsoko enso akola akupindula u upembyi nuitu ai watulaa wa mpyani kii kati anyu. Akuganula nai mu mupilukie Itunda niiza mupanga hangi nua tai.

For they themselves give the news of how we came among you; and how you were turned from images to God, to the worship of a true and living God,

10 Ai apumilye i nkani kina mu mulindiie u Ng'wana nuakwe kupuma kilunde, nai wiukigwe kupuma ku ashi. Nu uyu ingi Yesu, nui kuika ilyuuku kupuma mu ikuo nilipembilye.

Waiting for his Son from heaven, who came back from the dead, even Jesus, our Saviour from the wrath to come.
