< Dagiti Proverbio 3 >

1 Anakko, saanmo a liplipatan dagiti bilbilinko, ken tungpalem dagiti sursurok dita pusom,
My son, don't forget my instructions. Always keep my commands in mind.
2 ta inayonda kenka ti atiddog nga al-aldaw, ken tawtawen ti panagbiag, ken talna.
Then you will live a long time, and have a full life.
3 Saanmo nga ipalubos a panawannaka ti kinapudno ti tulag ken kinamatalek, maiyarig dagitoy iti kwintas nga igalutmo iti tengngedmo, isuratmo dagitoy dita pusom.
Hold on to kindness and truth. Tie them around your neck; write them in your mind.
4 Iti kasta makasarakkanto iti pabor ken nasayaat a pakasaritaan iti imatang ti Dios ken tao.
That way you'll gain a good reputation and be appreciated by both God and people.
5 Agtalekka kenni Yahweh iti amin a pusom ken saanka nga agtalek iti bukodmo a pannakaawat;
Put your trust totally in the Lord—don't rely on what you think you know!
6 iti amin a dalanmo, bigbigem isuna ket palintegennanto dagiti pagnaam.
Remember him in everything you do, and he'll show you the right way.
7 Saanmo nga ipagarup a masiribka; agbutengka kenni Yahweh ket tallikudam ti kinadakes.
Don't think you're wise—respect God and avoid evil.
8 Agbalinto daytoy a pannakapaimbag ti lasagmo ken pannakapapigsa ti bagim.
Then you will have healed and be made strong.
9 Dayawem ni Yahweh iti kinabaknangmo ken kadagiti umuna a bunga dagiti amin nga apitmo,
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all the crops you grow.
10 ket mapnonto dagiti kamaligmo ken aglupluppiasto dagiti burnaymo, a napno iti baro nga arak.
Then your barns will be filled with produce, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 Anakko, saanmo a laisen ti panangdisiplina ni Yahweh ken saanmo a guraen ti panangtubngarna,
My son, don't reject the Lord's discipline or resent it when he corrects you,
12 ta disdisiplinaen ni Yahweh dagiti ay-ayatenna, a kas iti panangdisiplina ti maysa nga ama iti anakna a makaay-ayo kenkuana.
for the Lord corrects those he loves, as a father corrects a son who pleases him.
13 Naragsak ti makasarak iti kinasirib, makagun-od met isuna iti pannakaawat.
Happy are those who find wisdom and gain understanding,
14 Nasaysayaat ti magun-odmo iti kinasirib ngem iti magun-odmo iti pirak ken nasaysayaat ti magungguna iti kinasirib ngem iti balitok.
for wisdom is worth more than silver, and pays better than gold.
15 Napatpateg ti kinasirib ngem kadagiti alahas ken awan kadagiti tartarigagayam ti maiyasping kenkuana.
She is more valuable than rubies—everything you could ever want just doesn't compare!
16 Adda iti makannawan nga imana dagiti al-aldaw; adda iti makannigid nga imana dagiti kinabaknang ken pammadayaw.
She offers long life in one hand, and riches and honor in the other.
17 Dagiti wagasna ket wagwagas ti kinaimbag ken amin dagiti wagasna ket talna.
She brings true happiness, and leads to peaceful prosperity.
18 Isuna ket maiyarig a kayo ti biag kadagiti kumpet kenkuana, naragsak dagiti agtalinaed iti daytoy.
Wisdom is a tree of life to everyone who embraces her, blessing those who accept her.
19 Babaen iti kinasirib ket inaramid ni Yahweh ti daga, babaen iti kinalaingna ket inkabilna dagiti adda iti langit.
It was through wisdom that the Lord created the earth, and through understanding he set the heavens in place.
20 Babaen iti pannakaammona ket naglukat dagiti yuyeng ken intinnag dagiti ulep ti linnaawda.
It was through his knowledge the waters of the deep were broken open, and the clouds sent down the dew.
21 Anakko, salimetmetam ti naimbag a panangukom ken pannakaammo, ken saanmo nga isinsina ti panagkitam kadagitoy.
My son, hold on to good judgment and wise decisions—don't let them out of your sight,
22 Agbalindanto a biag ti kararuam ken a kuwintas ti bendision nga isuotmo iti tengngedmo.
for they will be life to you, and an ornament for your neck.
23 Ket magnakanto iti dalanmo a sitatalged ken saanto a maitibkol ti sakam;
You will be able to walk confidently on your way, and you won't trip up.
24 inton agiddaka, saankanto nga agbuteng; inton agiddaka, mayatto ti pannaturogmo.
When you rest, you won't be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Saanka nga agbuteng iti inton adda kellaat a dumteng ti pagbutngan wenno panangdadael dagiti nadadangkes,
You won't be afraid of a sudden panic, or of disasters that hit the wicked,
26 ta addanto ni Yahweh iti abaymo ket saluadannanto ta sakam manipud iti pannakapalab-ogna.
for the Lord will be the one you can trust in, and he will prevent you being caught in a trap.
27 Saanmo nga iyimot ti kinaimbag kadagiti maikari iti daytoy, no adda kabaelam a mangaramid iti daytoy.
Don't hold back good from those who deserve it when it's something you have the power to do.
28 Saanmo a kunaen iti kaarrubam, “Agsublikanto no bigat ket itedkonto kenka,” idinto nga addan kenka ti kuarta.
Don't tell your neighbor, “Go away. Come back tomorrow and then I'll give it to you,” when you've already got it.
29 Saanka nga agpanggep a mangdangran iti kaarrubam— ti agnanaed iti asidegmo ken agtaltalek kenka.
Don't plan to harm your neighbor who lives nearby and trusts you.
30 Saanka a makirinikiar nga awan gapgapuna iti maysa a tao, idinto nga awan inaramidna kenka a dakes.
Don't quarrel with anybody for no reason, when they haven't done anything to hurt you.
31 Saanka nga umapal iti naranggas a tao wenno mangpili iti aniaman kadagiti wagasna.
Don't be jealous of violent people—don't choose to follow their example!
32 Ta ti ulbod a tao ket makarimon kenni Yahweh, ngem iyasidegna kenkuana dagiti nalinteg a tattao.
For the Lord hates deceitful people, but he is a friend to those who do what is good.
33 Ti lunod ni Yahweh ket adda iti balay dagiti nadangkes a tattao, ngem benbendisionanna ti pagtaengan dagiti nalinteg a tattao.
The houses of the wicked are cursed by the Lord, but he blesses the homes of those who live right.
34 Lalaisenna dagiti mananglais, ngem kakaasianna dagiti napakumbaba a tattao.
He mocks those who mock, but he is kind to the humble.
35 Tawiden dagiti nasirib a tattao ti pammadayaw, ngem maibabainto dagiti maag.
The wise will receive honor, but fools are held up in disgrace.
