< II Samuel 21 >

1 Adda iti panagbisin iti tiempo ni David iti tallo a tawen a nagsasaruno, ket sinarak ni David ti rupa ni Yahweh. Ket kinuna ni Yahweh, “Daytoy a panagbisin ket adda kenka gapu kenni Saul ken iti manangpapatay a pamiliana, gapu ta pinapatayna dagiti Gibeonita.”
There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”
2 Ita, dagiti Gibeonita ket saan a nagtaud kadagiti tattao ti Israel; nagtaudda kadagiti nabati kadagiti Ammoreo. Insapata dagiti tattao ti Israel a saanda ida a papatayen, ngem no pay kasta, pinadas ni Saul a papatayen amin ida gapu iti bumarbara a panagayatna kadagiti tattao ti Israel ken Juda.
The king called the Gibeonites and said to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites, and the children of Israel had sworn to them; and Saul sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);
3 Isu nga inayaban amin ni Ari David dagiti Gibeonita ket kinunana kadakuada, “Ania ti rumbeng nga aramidek kadakayo? Kasano a makaaramidak iti pangabbong iti basol, tapno mabalinyo a bendisionan dagiti tattao ni Yahweh, a nagtawid iti kinaimbag ken kadagiti karina?”
and David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for you? And with what should I make atonement, that you may bless the LORD’s inheritance?”
4 Simmungbat dagiti Gibeonita kenkuana, “Saan a marisut ti pirak wenno balitok ti dakes nga inaramid kadakami da Saul ken iti pamiliana. Ken saan a para kadakami ti pumatay iti siasinoman a tao ti Israel.” Insungbat ni David, “Aniaman a dawatenyo, dayta ti aramidek para kadakayo.”
The Gibeonites said to him, “It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.” He said, “I will do for you whatever you say.”
5 Simmungbatda iti ari, “Ti tao a nangpadas a mangpapatay kadakami amin, a nagpanggep iti kinadakes kadakami, isu a nadadaelkami ita ken awanankami iti lugar kadagiti nagbeddengan ti Israel —
They said to the king, “The man who consumed us and who plotted against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,
6 ipaimam kadakami ti pito a lallaki manipud kadagiti kaputotanna, ket bitayenmi ida iti imatang ni Yahweh idiay Gabaa a lugar ni Saul, ti pinili ni Yahweh.” Isu a kinuna ti ari, “Itedko ida kadakayo.”
let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD.” The king said, “I will give them.”
7 Ngem insalakan ti ari ni Mefiboset a putot ni Jonatan nga anak ni Saul, gapu ti sapata ni Yahweh iti nagbaetanda, iti nagbaetan ni David kenni Jonatan nga anak ni Saul.
But the king spared Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Ngem innala ti ari dagiti dua nga annak a lallaki ni Rispa a putot a babai ni Aia, annakna a lallaki kenni Saul—ti nagan dagiti dua nga annakna a lallaki ket Armoni ken Mefiboset; ken innala met ni David dagiti lima nga annak a lallaki ni Mikal nga anak a babai ni Saul, nga anak ni Mikal kenni Adriel a putot a lalaki ni Barsillai a Meholitita.
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 Impaimana ida kadagiti Gibeonita. Binitayda ida idiay bantay iti imatang ni Yahweh, ket naggigiddanda a pito a natay. Napapatayda kabayatan iti tiempo ti panagaapit, kabayatan dagiti umuna nga al-aldaw ti rugi iti panagaaapit ti sebada.
He delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites; and they hanged them on the mountain before the LORD, and all seven of them fell together. They were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, at the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Kalpasanna nangala ni Rispa a putot a babai ni Aia iti nakersang a lupot ket inyaplagna iti rabaw ti bantay para iti bagina, iti abay dagiti bangkay, manipud iti rugi ti pinagaapit agingga a natudoanda manipud iti tangatang. Saanna nga impalubos a singaen dagiti billit iti tangatang dagiti bangkay kabayatan iti aldaw wenno dagiti atap nga ayup kabayatan iti rabii.
Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water poured on them from the sky. She allowed neither the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the animals of the field by night.
11 Naibaga kenni David ti inaramid ni Rispa a puto a babai ni Aia, ti adipen nga asawa ni Saul.
David was told what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 Isu a napan ni David ket innalana dagiti tultulang ni Saul ken ni Jonatan nga anakna manipud kadagiti tattao ti Jabes Galaad, a nangtakaw kadagitoy manipud iti plasa idiay Bet-san, a nangbitayan dagiti Filisteo kadakuada, kalpasan a pinapatay dagiti Filisteo ni Saul idiay Gilboa.
So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hanged them in the day that the Philistines killed Saul in Gilboa;
13 Innala ni David dagiti tultulang da Saul ken Jonatan nga anakna manipud sadiay, ket inurnongda met dagiti tultulang dagiti pito a lallaki a naibitay.
and he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son. They also gathered the bones of those who were hanged.
14 Ingkalida dagiti tultulang da Saul ken Jonatan nga anakna idiay pagilian ni Benjamin idiay Sela, iti tanem ni Kis nga amana. Inaramidda amin nga imbilin ti ari. Kalpasan dayta, sinungbatan ti Dios dagiti kararagda para iti daga.
They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father; and they performed all that the king commanded. After that, God answered prayer for the land.
15 Ket ginubat manen dagiti Filisteo ti Israel. Isu a simmalog ni David ken ti armadana ket nakirangetda kadagiti Filisteo. Nabannog unay ni David iti pannakigubatna.
The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. David grew faint;
16 Ni David ket pinanggep a patayen ni Isbibenob a kaputotan dagiti higante, nga addaan iti bronse a gayang nga agdagsen iti tallo gasut a siklo, ken nakaarmas iti baro a kampilan.
and Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, he being armed with a new sword, thought he would kill David.
17 Ngem inispal ni Abisai a putot ni Zeruyas ni David, rinautna ti Filisteo, ket pinapatayna ni Isbibenob. Ket nagsapata dagiti tattao ni David kenkuana, kunada, “Saankanton a pulos a kumuyog iti gubatan kadakami, tapno saanmo nga iddepen ti silaw ti Israel.”
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “Don’t go out with us to battle any more, so that you don’t quench the lamp of Israel.”
18 Kalpasan daytoy ket dimteng manen ti sabali a pannakigubatda kadagiti Filisteo idiay Gob, idi pinatay ni Sebecai a Husatita ni Saf, a maysa kadagiti kaputotan dagiti Refaim.
After this, there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.
19 Dimteng manen ti simmaruno a pannakigubatda kadagiti Filisteo idiay Gob, pinatay ni Elhanan a putot ni Jair a Betlehemita ni Goliat a Giteo, nga akin-gayang iti kasla poste ti pagabelan.
There was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite’s brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
20 Dimteng manen iti maysa a gubat idiay Gat nga adda iti maysa tao a kasta unay ti katayagna nga addaan iti innem a ramay iti tunggal imana ken innem met a ramay iti tunggal sakana, duapulo ket uppat ti bilang dagiti ramayna. Nagtaud met laeng isuna iti Refaim.
There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on every hand and six toes on every foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was born to the giant.
21 Ket idi linaisna ti Israel, pinatay isuna ni Jonatan a putot ni Shama, a kabsat a lalaki ni David.
When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David’s brother, killed him.
22 Dagitoy dagiti kaputotan ti Refaim ti Gat, ket napapatayda kadagiti ima ni David ken iti ima dagiti soldadona.
These four were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
