< Daniel 3 >
1 Eze Nebukadneza kpụrụ oyiyi ọlaedo nke ịdị elu ya ga-adị iri mita atọ, obosara ya ga-adị ka mita atọ. Emesịa, o debe ya nʼobosara ala Dura, nke dị nʼotu mpaghara Babilọn.
Nebuchadnezzar the king, made an image of gold, the height thereof, sixty cubits, the breadth thereof, six cubits, —he set it up in the valley of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
2 Eze Nebukadneza ziri ozi ka e zie ndị nnọchite anya eze niile, ndịisi, ndị na-achị achị, ndị ndụmọdụ ya niile, ndị na-elekọta ụlọakụ ya niile, ndị ọkaikpe, ndị maji na-edozi okwu na ọtụtụ ndị ọzọ nọkwa nʼisi ọchịchị akụkụ niile nke ala ahụ, ka ha bịa nʼụbọchị a ga-edo oyiyi ahụ nsọ bụ nke eze Nebukadneza guzobere.
And, Nebuchadnezzar the king, sent to gather together the satraps, the nobles and the pashas, the chief judges, the treasurers, the judges, the lawyers, and all the rulers of the province, —to come to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchadnezzar the king, had set up.
3 Ya mere, ndị nnọchite anya eze niile, ndịisi, ndị na-achị achị, ndị ndụmọdụ ya niile na ndị na-elekọta ụlọakụ ya niile, ndị ọkaikpe, ndị maji na-edozi okwu na ọtụtụ ndị ọzọ nọkwa nʼisi ọchịchị akụkụ niile nke ala ahụ, zukọtara maka ido oyiyi ahụ nke eze, bụ Nebukadneza guzobere nsọ. Ha niile guzooro ọtọ nʼihu oyiyi ahụ bụ nke eze Nebukadneza guzobere.
Then were gathered together, the satraps, the nobles and the pashas, the chief judges, the treasurers, the judges, the lawyers, and all the rulers of the province, to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up, —and they stood before the image, which Nebuchadnezzar, had set up.
4 Onye nkwusa kwuru okwu nʼolu ike, “Mmadụ niile si na mba niile na asụsụ niile dị iche iche bịa, ka a na-enye iwu nke a,
And, the herald, proclaimed aloud, —To you, is given the word, O ye peoples, races, and tongues:
5 mgbe ọbụla unu nụrụ ụda ọja, une, ụbọ akwara, maọbụ ụda ihe egwu ọbụla, unu ga-ada nʼala kpọọ isiala nye ihe a Nebukadneza eze ji ọlaedo kpụọ.
At what time ye shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery, the bagpipes, and all kinds of instruments of music, ye shall fall down and adore the image of gold, which Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up;
6 Onye ọbụla juru ịkpọ isiala ka a ga-atụba ngwangwa nʼime ọkụ nke na-enwu ajọ onwunwu.”
and, whosoever shall not fall down and adore, shall, instantly, be cast into the burning furnace of fire.
7 Ya mere, ngwangwa ha nụrụ ụda opi ike, nke ọja, une ụbọ akwara, nke une na nke egwu dị iche iche, ndị niile si mba dị iche iche, ndị na-asụ asụsụ dị iche iche, dara nʼala kpọọ isiala nye oyiyi ọlaedo ahụ, nke eze bụ Nebukadneza guzobere.
Wherefore, at the same time—when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery, and all kinds of instruments of music, they were falling down—even all the peoples, the races, and the tongues, —adoring the image of gold, which Nebuchadnezzar the king, had set up.
8 Nʼoge a, ụfọdụ nʼime ndị Kaldịa pụtara nʼihu boo ndị Juu ebubo.
Wherefore, at the same time, drew near certain Chaldeans, —and accused the Jews:
9 Ha gwara eze, bụ Nebukadneza, “Ka eze dị ndụ ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
they spake, and said, to Nebuchadnezzar the king: O king! for ages, live!
10 Gị, onwe gị nyere iwu, na onye ọbụla nụrụ ụda opi ike, ọja, une, ụbọ akwara maọbụ ihe egwu ọzọ ga-akpọ isiala sekpuoro ihe ahụ e ji ọlaedo kpụọ,
Thou thyself, O king, hast made a decree, that, any man who shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery and the bagpipes, and all kinds of instruments of music, shall fall down and adore the image of gold;
11 na onye ọbụla jụrụ ịkpọ isiala ka a ga-atụba nʼime ọkụ na-enwu ajọ onwunwu.
and, whosoever shall not fall down and adore, shall be cast into the burning furnace of fire.
12 Ugbu a, e nwere ụfọdụ ndị Juu, ndị aha ha bụ Shedrak, na Mishak na Abednego, ndị i mere ka ha bụrụ ndị na-elekọta ihe niile a na-eme eme nʼala Babilọn; ha aṅaghị ntị nʼiwu eze nyere, jụkwa ịkpọ isiala nye oyiyi a i ji ọlaedo kpụọ.”
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the business of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —these men, have made thee, O king, of no account, thy god, they serve not, and, the image of gold which thou hast set up, do they not adore.
13 Nebukadneza nʼọnọdụ oke iwe nyere iwu ka a kpọta Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego. Ya mere, a kpọbatara ndị ikom a nʼihu eze,
Then, Nebuchadnezzar—with anger and wrath, gave word to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, then, these men, brought they before the king.
14 Nebukadneza sịrị ha, “Ọ bụ eziokwu, Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego, na unu adịghị efe chi m maọbụ kpọọ isiala nye oyiyi ọlaedo ahụ m guzobere?
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it, with design, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —that, my god, ye are not serving, and, the image which I have set up, are not adoring?
15 Mgbe unu nụrụ ụda opi, ọja, une na ụbọ akwara maọbụ ihe egwu ọzọ, ọ bụrụ na unu adaa nʼala kpọọ isiala nye oyiyi ahụ a kpụrụ akpụ, ihe niile ga-adị mma. Kama ọ bụrụ na unu ajụ ịkpọ isiala, a ga-atụnye unu ngwangwa nʼime ọkụ na-enwu ajọ onwunwu. Kedụ chi ahụ nke pụrụ ịnapụta unu site nʼaka m?”
Now, if ye be ready, at what time ye shall hear the sound of the cornet, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery and the bagpipes, and all the instruments of music, ye shall fall down and adore the image which I have made, but, if ye shall not adore, instantly, shall ye be cast into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, —and who is the god that shall deliver you out of my hands?
16 Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego, gwara eze, “O Nebukadneza, ọ dịghị mkpa na anyị ga-azara ọnụ anyị nʼihu gị banyere okwu a.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered, and said to the king: O Nebuchadnezzar! we are not accounting it needful, concerning this, to answer thee.
17 Ọ bụrụ Chineke anyị na-efe nwere ike ịzọpụta anyị site nʼọkụ na-enwusi ike nʼaka gị, ya zọpụta anyị.
If it is, our God, whom we serve, is able to deliver us, —out of the burning furnace of fire, and out of thy hand, O king, he will deliver.
18 Ma ọ bụrụkwa na ọ zọpụtaghị anyị, mata nke ọma, o eze, na anyị agaghị efe chi gị ndị a maọbụ kpọọ isiala nye oyiyi a ị kpụrụ akpụ nke ị guzobere.”
But, if not, be it known to thee, O king, —that, thy god, will we not serve, and, the image of gold which thou hast set up, will we not adore.
19 Mgbe ahụ, Nebukadneza jupụtara nʼoke iwe megide Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego, nke bụ nʼihu ya gbarụrụ nʼebe ha nọ. O nyere iwu sị ka e mee ụlọ ọkụ ahụ ka ọ dị ọkụ ugboro asaa karịa ka o kwesiri.
Then, Nebuchadnezzar, was filled with wrath, and, the likeness of his countenance, was changed, against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —he spake and gave word to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it was ever seen heated;
20 Ọ nyere ụfọdụ ndị kacha sie ike nʼetiti ndị agha ya iwu ka e kee Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego eriri nʼụkwụ na aka, tụbakwa ha nʼọkụ ahụ na-enwu enwu.
and, to men, who were the mightiest men in his army, gave he word to bind fast Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —to cast them into the burning furnace of fire.
Then bound they, these men, in their trousers, their tunics, and their cloaks, and their (other) clothing, —and cast into the midst of the burning furnace of fire.
22 Ebe ọ bụ nʼokwu eze dị ọkụ ọkụ, tinyere na ọkụ ahụ na-enwusi ike, o mere ka ire ọkụ regbuo ndị agha ahụ tụbara Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego.
Therefore, because the word of the king had raged forth, and the furnace was exceeding hot, those very men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, were slain by the flame of the fire;
23 Ya mere, Shedrak, na Mishak, na Abednego ndị e kesịrị agbụ ike, dabara nʼime ọkụ ahụ na-enwusi ike.
and, these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, fast bound.
24 Nʼọnọdụ iju anya, Eze Nebukadneza wuliri nʼụkwụ ya, jụọ ndị ndụmọdụ sị, “Ọ bụghị ndị ikom atọ anyị kere agbụ ka anyị tụbara nʼime ọkụ?” Ha zara eze, “Ọ bụ ezie, eze.”
Then, Nebuchadnezzar the king, was amazed, and rose up in haste: he spake and said to his nearest friends—Were there not three men, we cast into the midst of the fire, fast bound? They answered and said to the king, Surely, O king!
25 Ọ sịrị, “Ma ana m ahụ mmadụ anọ ndị a na-ekeghị agbụ, ka ha na-agagharị nʼime ọkụ ahụ. Leekwa na ọkụ ahụ anaghị ere ha. Onye ahụ mere ha mmadụ anọ yiri nwa nke ndị bụ chi.”
He answered and said, Lo! I, see four men, unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and, injury, there is not in them, and, the appearance of the fourth, is like to a son of the gods!
26 Mgbe ahụ Nebukadneza, bịara nso nʼọnụ ụzọ oke ọkụ ahụ sị, “Shedrak, Mishak na Abednego, ndị ohu Chineke Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, pụtanụ! Bịanụ nʼebe a!” Ya mere, Shedrak, Mishak na Abednego, sitere nʼoke ọkụ ahụ pụta.
Then did Nebuchadnezzar, draw near, to the door of the burning furnace of fire, he spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, step forth and come hither. Then stepped forth Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, out of the midst of the fire.
27 Ụmụ ndị eze niile, ndịisi niile, ndị ahụ niile na-achị achị na ndị ndụmọdụ eze niile, zukọtara gburugburu ndị ikom atọ ahụ, ha hụkwara na ọkụ emerụghị ha ahụ, na o rechapụghịkwa agịrị isi dị ha nʼisi, uwe ha ereghịkwa ọkụ, isisi anwụrụ ọkụ adịghịkwa nʼahụ ha.
And—being gathered together—the satraps, the nobles, and the pashas and near friends of the king, saw these men, over whose bodies the fire had, no power, nor was, a hair of their head, singed, neither were, their trousers, disfigured, —nor had, the smell of fire, come upon them.
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his messenger, and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, —when, the word of the king, they transgressed, and delivered up their bodies, that they might not serve nor adore any god, saving their own God.
29 Ya mere, ana m enye iwu a taa, na-asị na onye ọbụla, maọbụ mba ọbụla, maọbụ asụsụ ọbụla, onye kwuru okwu ọjọọ megide Chineke Shedrak, Mishak na Abednego, a ga-etikpọkwa ụlọ onye ahụ, mee ka ọ ghọọ mkpọmkpọ ebe. Nʼihi na o nweghị chi ọzọ nke pụrụ ịzọpụta nʼụzọ dị otu a.”
Therefore do I make a decree, that, whosoever of any people, race, or tongue it be that shall charge any error upon the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and, his house, into a dunghill, shall be changed; because there is no other God, who is able to deliver, like this!
30 Mgbe ahụ, eze nyere Shedrak, Mishak na Abednego ọkwa ọzọ dị elu karịa nke ha nwere na mbụ nʼala Babilọn.
Then, the king, advanced Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.
