< 2 Samuel 12 >

1 Ya mere, Onyenwe anyị zigara Netan ka o jekwuru Devid. Mgbe Netan bịakwutere Devid, ọ kọọrọ ya akụkọ a, “E nwere ndị ikom abụọ bi nʼotu obodo, otu bụ ọgaranya ma nke ọzọ bụ ogbenye.
And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2 Onye ọgaranya a nwere ọtụtụ igwe atụrụ na igwe ehi.
The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
3 Ma nwoke ogbenye ahụ enweghị ihe ọbụla karịa otu nwa nne atụrụ nta nke ọ zụtara. Ọ zụlitere ya, o tolite nʼetiti ya na ụmụ ya. Ọ na-eri nri site na ihe oriri ya, na-aṅụ mmiri site nʼiko mmiri ya, nʼobi ya ka ọ na-edinakwa. Ọ nọ ọnọdụ dịka nwa nwanyị nye ya.
But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own food, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the travelling man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
5 Devid were oke iwe megide nwoke ahụ, ọ sịrị Netan, “Ana m aṅụ iyi nʼaha Onyenwe anyị dị ndụ na onye mere ihe dị otu a aghaghị ịnwụ!
And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD lives, the man that has done this thing shall surely die:
6 Ọ ga-ejikwa nwa atụrụ okpukpu anọ kwụghachi ogbenye ahụ ụgwọ otu atụrụ ahụ o weere, nʼihi na onye ọgaranya ahụ egosighị na o nwere obi ebere ọbụla.”
And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
7 Mgbe ahụ, Netan sịrị Devid, “Ọ bụ gị bụ nwoke ahụ! Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel sịrị, ‘Mụ onwe m tere gị mmanụ ịbụ eze Izrel, mụ onwe m napụtakwara gị site nʼaka Sọl.
And Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul;
8 Enyere m gị ụlọ nna gị ukwu, nyefekwa ndị inyom nna gị ukwu nʼaka gị, na alaeze Izrel na Juda, ka ha bụrụ nke gị. Ma ọ bụrụ na nke a ezughị, agaara m atụkwasịrị gị ihe ndị a niile okpukpu okpukpu.
And I gave you your master's house, and your master's wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto you such and such things.
9 Gịnị mere i ji lelịa okwu Onyenwe anyị anya, mee ihe a jọgburu onwe ya? Nʼihi na i jirila mma agha gbuo Ụraya onye Het, zurukwa nwunye ya nʼohi. Ọ bụkwa mma agha ndị Amọn ka i ji gbuo ya.
Wherefore have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? you have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10 Ya mere, nʼihi ihe a i mere, mma agha agaghị esi nʼezinaụlọ gị pụọ, nʼihi na i ledara m anya kpọrọ nwunye Ụraya onye Het ka ọ bụrụ nwunye gị.’
Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.
Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them unto your neighbour, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.
For you did it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
13 Mgbe ahụ, Devid sịrị Netan, “Emehiela m megide Onyenwe anyị.” Netan zara sị ya, “Onyenwe anyị nʼonwe ya agbagharakwala gị mmehie gị, ị gaghị anwụ.
And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
14 Ma nʼihi na i meela ka ndị iro Onyenwe anyị nwe ohere ikwulu na ilelị ya anya, nwa nwoke ahụ amụụrụ gị ga-anwụ.”
Nevertheless, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto you shall surely die.
15 Mgbe Netan lara, Onyenwe anyị mere ka nwantakịrị ahụ nwunye Ụraya mụụrụ Devid daa ọrịa.
And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
16 Devid rịọrọ Chineke arịrịọ banyere nwantakịrị ahụ. O buru ọnụ, dinaa nʼala efu abalị ahụ niile nʼihu Onyenwe anyị.
David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
17 Emesịa, ndị okenye ụlọ ya rịọrọ Devid ka o bilie rie nri, ma ọ jụrụ iri ihe ọbụla.
And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
19 Mgbe Devid hụrụ na ha na-ekwurịta okwu nʼetiti onwe ha na nzuzo; ọ matara na nwa ahụ anwụọla. Ọ jụrụ ha sị, “Nwata ahụ ọ nwụọla?” Ha zara sị ya, “E, ọ nwụọla!”
But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
20 Mgbe ahụ, Devid sitere nʼala ebe o dina, bilie, saa ahụ, gbanwee uwe ya, baa nʼụlọ Onyenwe anyị, kpọọrọ ya isiala. Ọ lọghachiri nʼụlọ ya nye iwu ka e wetara ya ihe oriri. O rikwara nri.
Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
21 O juru ndị na-ejere ya ozi anya, nʼihi ya ha jụrụ ya ajụjụ si, “Gịnị mere i ji eme omume dị otu a? Mgbe nwantakịrị ahụ nọ ndụ, i buru ọnụ, kwaakwa akwa, ma ugbu a, nwa ahụ anwụọla, ị kwụsịla iru ụjụ. Ugbu a, ị biliela na-erikwa nri.”
Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that you have done? you did fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, you did rise and eat bread.
22 Devid zara ha sị, “Eburu m ọnụ, kwaakwa akwa mgbe nwa ahụ nọ ndụ, nʼihi na ekwuru m sị, ‘ma eleghị anya, Onyenwe anyị ga-enwe ọmịiko nʼebe m nọ mee ka nwa ahụ dị ndụ.’
And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23 Ma ugbu a ọ nwụrụ, gịnịkwa ka m nwere dịka uru ibu ọnụ ọzọ? M pụrụ ime ka ọ dị ndụ ọzọ? Aga m alakwuru ya, ma ọ gaghị alaghachikwutekwa m.”
But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
25 O zigara ozi site nʼaka Netan, onye amụma, ka a gụọ ya Jedidaya nʼihi Onyenwe anyị.
And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.
26 Nʼoge a, Joab busoro Raba obodo ndị Amọn agha dọta isi obodo eze ha nʼagha.
And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.
27 Joab zigara Devid ozi sị ya, “Ebuola m agha megide Raba dọta isi mmiri ọṅụṅụ ya nʼagha.
And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.
28 Ugbu a chịkọtaa ndị agha fọdụrụ bịa lụpụchaa agha a, ka ị dọta obodo a nʼagha. Ọ bụrụ na i meghị otu a, aga m adọta obodo a nʼagha, a ga-akpọkwasịkwa ya aha m.”
Now therefore gather the rest of the people together, and camp against the city, and take it: lest I take the city, and it be called after my name.
29 Nʼihi nke a, Devid duuru ndị agha Izrel jeruo Raba, buso ya agha, meriekwa ya.
And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.
And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
31 Ọ kpọpụtara ndị nọ nʼebe ahụ, manye ha nʼịrụ ọrụ nke e ji mma nkwọ e ji awa osisi, na igwe e ji egwu ala na anyụike nʼarụ. O mere ka ha rụọ ọrụ nʼebe a na-akpụ blọk brik. Devid mekwara otu ihe a nʼobodo niile nke ụmụ Amọn.
And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
