2 Krónika 11
1 Méne azért Roboám Jeruzsálembe, és összegyűjté a Júda és Benjámin házát, száznyolczvanezer válogatott hadviselőket, hogy hadakoznának Izráel ellen, és visszanyernék az országot Roboámnak.
When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, 180,000 chosen men who were soldiers, to fight against Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Szóla pedig az Úr Semájának, az Isten emberének, mondván:
But the word of Yahweh came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 Mondd meg Roboámnak, Salamon fiának, Júda királyának és az egész Izráelnek Júdában és Benjáminban, így szólván:
“Say to Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin,
4 Ezt mondja az Úr: Ne menjetek fel és ne hadakozzatok atyátokfiai ellen; térjetek meg ki-ki a maga házába, mert én tőlem lett e dolog. És engedének az Úr szavának, és megtérének a helyett, hogy Jeroboám ellen mennének.
'Yahweh says this, “You must not attack or make war against your brothers. Everyone must return to his own house, for I have caused this to happen.”'” So they obeyed the words of Yahweh and turned back from attacking Jeroboam.
5 Lakozék azért Roboám Jeruzsálemben, és megerősíté a városokat Júdában.
Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and built cities in Judah for defense.
6 Így megépíté Bethlehemet, Etámot és Tékoát,
He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
7 Bethsúrt, Sókót és Adullámot,
Beth Zur, Soko, Adullam,
8 Gátot, Marésát és Zifet,
Gath, Mareshah, Ziph,
9 Adoráimot, Lákist és Azekát,
Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,
10 Sorát, Ajalont és Hebront, melyek erős városok valának Júdában és Benjáminban.
Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron. These are fortified cities in Judah and Benjamin.
11 És mikor megerősítette ez erősségeket, helyezett azokba előljárókat és szerze tárházakat eleségnek és bornak és olajnak.
He fortified the fortresses and put commanders in them, with stores of food, oil, and wine.
12 És mindenik városban szerze paizsokat és kopjákat, és rendkivül megerősíté azokat. És az övé lőn Júda és Benjámin.
He put shields and spears in all the cities and made them very strong. So Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.
13 Továbbá a papok és a Léviták, a kik az egész Izráelben valának, ő hozzá csatlakozának minden ő határukból;
The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel went over to him from within their borders.
14 Mert a Léviták elhagyták az ő faluikat és jószágukat, és Júdába és Jeruzsálembe menének, mert kiűzte vala őket Jeroboám és az ő fiai, hogy az Úrnak ne szolgálnának.
For the Levites left their pasturelands and property in order to come to Judah and Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons had driven them away, so that they could no longer perform priestly duties for Yahweh.
15 És rendele magának papokat a magaslatokhoz, a bakokhoz és a borjúkhoz, a melyeket csináltatott vala.
Jeroboam appointed for himself priests for the high places and the goat and calf idols he had made.
16 És utánuk Izráel minden nemzetségei közül azok, a kik szívök szerint keresték az Urat, Izráelnek Istenét, menének Jeruzsálembe, hogy áldoznának az Úrnak, az ő atyáik Istenének.
People from all the tribes of Israel came after them, those who set their hearts to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel; they came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
17 És megerősíték Júda országát, és megerősíték Roboámot, a Salamon fiát három esztendeig; mert három esztendeig járának Dávidnak és Salamonnak útján.
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and made Rehoboam son of Solomon strong during three years, and they walked for three years in the way of David and Solomon.
18 És feleségül vevé Roboám Mahalátát, Jérimótnak, a Dávid fiának leányát és Abihailt, Eliábnak, az Isai fiának leányát,
Rehoboam took a wife for himself: Mahalath, the daughter of Jerimoth, David's son, and of Abihail, the daughter of Eliab, Jesse's son.
19 A ki szüle néki fiakat: Jeust, Semáriát és Zahámot,
She bore him sons: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham.
20 És ő utána vevé Maakát, az Absolon leányát, a ki szülé néki Abiját, Attait, Zizát és Selómitot.
After Mahalath, Rehoboam took Maacah, Absalom's daughter; she bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Legjobban szereté pedig Roboám Maakát, az Absolon leányát minden feleségei és ágyasai között; mert tizennyolcz felesége és hatvan ágyasa volt. És nemze huszonnyolcz fiút és hatvan leányt.
Rehoboam loved Maacah, Absalom's daughter, more than all his other wives and his concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).
22 És Roboám Abiját, a Maaka fiát tette testvérei között vezérré és előljáróvá, mert őt akará királylyá tenni.
Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah to be chief, a leader among his brothers; he had the thought of making him king.
23 És okosan gondolkodván, szétosztá fiait mind Júda és Benjámin földén a megerősített városokba, a kiknek bőségesen adott eleséget és sok feleséget szerzett számukra.
Rehoboam ruled wisely; he scattered all his sons throughout all the land of Judah and Benjamin to every fortified city. He also gave them food in abundance and looked for many wives for them.
