नीतिवचन 21
1 याहवेह के हाथों में राजा का हृदय जलप्रवाह-समान है; वही इसे ईच्छित दिशा में मोड़ देते हैं.
[is] streams of Water [the] heart of a king in [the] hand of Yahweh to all that he desires he turns it.
2 मनुष्य की दृष्टि में उसका हर एक कदम सही ही होता है, किंतु याहवेह उसके हृदय को जांचते रहते हैं.
Every way of a person [is] upright in own eyes his and [is] weighing hearts Yahweh.
3 याहवेह के लिए सच्चाई तथा न्याय्यता कहीं अधिक स्वीकार्य है.
To do righteousness and justice [is] chosen by Yahweh more than sacrifice.
4 घमंडी आंखें, दंभी हृदय तथा दुष्ट का दीप पाप हैं.
Haughtiness of eyes and a [person] arrogant of heart [the] lamp of wicked [people] [is] sin.
5 यह सुनिश्चित होता है कि परिश्रमी व्यक्ति की योजनाएं लाभ में निष्पन्न होती हैं, किंतु हर एक उतावला व्यक्ति निर्धन ही हो जाता है.
[the] plans of A diligent [person] only to advantage and every hasty [person] only to poverty.
6 झूठ बोलने के द्वारा पाया गया धन इधर-उधर लहराती वाष्प होती है, यह मृत्यु का फंदा है.
[the] acquisition of Treasures by a tongue of falsehood [is] a breath driven about seekers of death.
7 दुष्ट अपने ही हिंसक कार्यों में उलझ कर विनष्ट हो जाएंगे, क्योंकि वे उपयुक्त और सुसंगत विकल्प को ठुकरा देते हैं.
[the] violence of Wicked [people] it will drag away them for they refuse to do justice.
8 दोषी व्यक्ति कुटिल मार्ग को चुनता है, किंतु सात्विक का चालचलन धार्मिकतापूर्ण होता है.
[is] crooked [the] way of A person guilty and a pure [person] [is] upright work his.
9 विवादी पत्नी के साथ घर में निवास करने से कहीं अधिक श्रेष्ठ है छत के एक कोने में रह लेना.
[is] good To dwell on a corner of a roof more than a woman of contentions and a house of association.
10 दुष्ट के मन की लालसा ही बुराई की होती है; उसके पड़ोसी तक भी उसकी आंखों में कृपा की झलक नहीं देख पाते.
[the] appetite of A wicked [person] it craves evil not he is shown favor in view his neighbor his.
11 जब ज्ञान के ठट्ठा करनेवालों को दंड दिया जाता है, बुद्धिहीनों में ज्ञानोदय हो जाता है; जब बुद्धिमान को शिक्षा दी जाती है, उसमें ज्ञानवर्धन होता जाता है.
When punish a mocker he becomes wise a naive person and when instruct a wise [person] he receives knowledge.
12 धर्मी दुष्ट के घर पर दृष्टि बनाए रखता है, और वह दुष्ट को विनाश गर्त में डाल देता है.
[is] giving attention [the] righteous [one] To [the] house of a wicked [person] [he is] subverting wicked [people] to calamity.
13 जो कोई निर्धन की पुकार की अनसुनी करता है, उसकी पुकार के अवसर पर उसकी भी अनसुनी की जाएगी.
[one who] shuts Ear his from [the] cry of [the] poor also he he will call out and not he will be answered.
14 गुप्त रूप से दिया गया उपहार और चुपचाप दी गई घूस कोप शांत कर देती है.
A gift in secrecy it subdues anger and a bribe in the bosom rage strong.
15 बिना पक्षपात न्याय को देख धर्मी हर्षित होते हैं, किंतु यही दुष्टों के लिए आतंक प्रमाणित होता है.
[is] a joy To the righteous [person] to do justice and terror to [those who] do wickedness.
16 जो ज्ञान का मार्ग छोड़ देता है, उसका विश्रान्ति स्थल मृतकों के साथ निर्धारित है.
A person [who] wanders from [the] way of insight in [the] assembly of [the] shades he will rest.
17 यह निश्चित है कि विलास प्रिय व्यक्ति निर्धन हो जाएगा तथा वह; जिसे दाखमधु तथा शारीरिक सुखों का मोह है, निर्धन होता जाएगा.
[will be] a person of Poverty [one who] loves pleasure [one who] loves wine and oil not he will gain riches.
18 धर्मी के लिए दुष्ट फिरौती हो जाता है, तथा विश्वासघाती खराई के लिए.
[is] a ransom For the righteous [person] a wicked [person] and in place of upright [people] [one who] acts treacherously.
19 क्रोधी, विवादी और चिड़चिड़ी स्त्री के साथ निवास करने से उत्तम होगा बंजर भूमि में निवास करना.
[is] good To dwell in a land of wilderness more than a woman of (contentions *Q(K)*) and anger.
20 अमूल्य निधि और उत्कृष्ट भोजन बुद्धिमान के घर में ही पाए जाते हैं, किंतु मूर्ख इन्हें नष्ट करता चला जाता है.
Treasure - desirable and oil [are] in [the] habitation of a wise [person] and a fool a person he swallows up it.
21 धर्म तथा कृपा के अनुयायी को प्राप्त होता है जीवन, धार्मिकता और महिमा.
[one who] pursues Righteousness and loyalty he finds life righteousness and honor.
22 बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति ही योद्धाओं के नगर पर आक्रमण करके उस सुरक्षा को ध्वस्त कर देता है, जिस पर उन्होंने भरोसा किया था.
A city of warriors he goes up a wise [person] and he brought down [the] strength of trust its.
23 जो कोई अपने मुख और जीभ को वश में रखता है, स्वयं को विपत्ति से बचा लेता है.
[one who] guards Mouth his and tongue his [is] keeping from troubles self his.
24 अहंकारी तथा दुष्ट व्यक्ति, जो ठट्ठा करनेवाले के रूप में कुख्यात हो चुका है, गर्व और क्रोध के भाव में ही कार्य करता है.
Proud arrogant [is] mocker name his [one who] acts in [the] overflowing of pride.
25 आलसी की अभिलाषा ही उसकी मृत्यु का कारण हो जाती है, क्योंकि उसके हाथ कार्य करना ही नहीं चाहते.
[the] desire of A sluggard it kills him for they refuse hands his to work.
26 सारे दिन वह लालसा ही लालसा करता रहता है, किंतु धर्मी उदारतापूर्वक दान करता जाता है.
All the day he craves a craving and a righteous [person] he gives and not he keeps back.
27 याहवेह के लिए दुष्ट द्वारा अर्पित बलि घृणास्पद है और उससे भी कहीं अधिक उस स्थिति में, जब यह बलि कुटिल अभिप्राय से अर्पित की जाती है.
[the] sacrifice of Wicked [people] [is] an abomination indeed? if in wickedness he brings it.
28 झूठा साक्षी तो नष्ट होगा ही, किंतु वह, जो सच्चा है, सदैव सुना जाएगा.
A witness of lies he will perish and a person [who] listens to perpetuity he will speak.
29 दुष्ट व्यक्ति अपने मुख पर निर्भयता का भाव ले आता है, किंतु धर्मी अपने चालचलन के प्रति अत्यंत सावधान रहता है.
He makes strong a person wicked with face his and an upright [person] he - (he considers way his. *Q(K)*)
30 याहवेह के समक्ष न तो कोई ज्ञान, न कोई समझ और न कोई परामर्श ठहर सकता है.
There not [is] wisdom and there not [is] understanding and there not [is] counsel to before Yahweh.
31 युद्ध के दिन के लिए घोड़े को सुसज्जित अवश्य किया जाता है, किंतु जय याहवेह के ही अधिकार में रहती है.
A horse [is] prepared for a day of battle and [belongs] to Yahweh the victory.
