मत्ती 17
1 इस घटना के छः दिन बाद येशु पेतरॉस, याकोब और उनके भाई योहन को अन्यों से अलग एक ऊंचे पर्वत पर ले गए.
And after six days Jesus takes Peter, James, and John his brother, and brings them up into an high mountain apart,
2 वहां उन्हीं के सामने येशु का रूपान्तरण हो गया. उनका चेहरा सूर्य के समान अत्यंत चमकीला हो उठा तथा उनके वस्त्र प्रकाश के समान उज्जवल हो उठे.
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 उसी समय उन्हें मोशेह तथा एलियाह येशु से बातें करते हुए दिखाई दिए.
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
4 यह देख पेतरॉस येशु से बोल उठे, “प्रभु! हमारा यहां होना कैसे आनंद का विषय है! यदि आप कहें तो मैं यहां तीन मंडप बनाऊं—एक आपके लिए, एक मोशेह के लिए तथा एक एलियाह के लिए.”
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
5 पेतरॉस अभी यह कह ही रहे थे कि एक उजला बादल उन पर छा गया और उसमें से एक शब्द सुनाई दिया, “यह मेरा पुत्र है—मेरा प्रिय, जिसमें मैं पूरी तरह से संतुष्ट हूं; इसकी आज्ञा का पालन करो.”
While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear all of you him.
6 यह सुन भय के कारण शिष्य भूमि पर मुख के बल गिर पड़े.
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 येशु उनके पास गए, उन्हें स्पर्श किया और उनसे कहा, “उठो! डरो मत!”
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8 जब वे उठे, तब वहां उन्हें येशु के अलावा कोई दिखाई न दिया.
And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9 जब वे पर्वत से उतर रहे थे येशु ने उन्हें कठोर आज्ञा दी, “मनुष्य का पुत्र मरे हुओं में से जीवित किए जाने तक इस घटना का वर्णन किसी से न करना.”
And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10 शिष्यों ने येशु से प्रश्न किया, “शास्त्री ऐसा क्यों कहते हैं कि पहले एलियाह का आना अवश्य है?”
And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come?
11 येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “एलियाह आएंगे और सब कुछ सुधारेंगे
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 किंतु सच तो यह है कि एलियाह पहले ही आ चुके है, और उन्होंने उन्हें न पहचाना. उन्होंने एलियाह के साथ मनमाना व्यवहार किया. ठीक इसी प्रकार वे मनुष्य के पुत्र को भी यातना देंगे.”
But I say unto you, That Elijah has come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 इस पर शिष्य समझ गए कि येशु बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन का वर्णन कर रहे हैं.
Then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist.
14 जब वे भीड़ के पास आए, एक व्यक्ति येशु के सामने घुटने टेककर उनसे विनती करने लगा,
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 “प्रभु! मेरे पुत्र पर कृपा कीजिए. उसे दौरे पड़ते हैं और वह बहुत कष्ट में है. वह कभी आग में जा गिरता है, तो कभी जल में.
Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for frequently he falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16 मैं उसे आपके शिष्यों के पास लाया था किंतु वे उसे स्वस्थ न कर सके.”
And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 येशु कह उठे, “अरे ओ अविश्वासी और बिगड़ी हुई पीढ़ी!” प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “मैं कब तक तुम्हारे साथ रहूंगा, कब तक धीरज रखूंगा? यहां लाओ अपने पुत्र को!”
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him here to me.
18 येशु ने उस दुष्टात्मा को फटकारा और वह उस बालक में से निकल गया और बालक उसी क्षण स्वस्थ हो गया.
And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 जब येशु अकेले थे तब शिष्य उनके पास आए और उनसे पूछने लगे, “प्रभु! हम उस दुष्टात्मा को क्यों नहीं निकाल सके?”
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 “अपने विश्वास की कमी के कारण,” येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “एक सच मैं तुम पर प्रकट कर रहा हूं: यदि तुममें राई के एक बीज के तुल्य भी विश्वास है और तुम इस पर्वत को आज्ञा दो, ‘यहां से हट जा!’ तो यह पर्वत यहां से हट जाएगा—असंभव कुछ भी न होगा.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If all of you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, all of you shall say unto this mountain, Remove behind to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 [यह जाति बिना प्रार्थना और उपवास के बाहर नहीं निकाली जा सकती.]”
Nevertheless this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting.
22 जब वे गलील प्रदेश में इकट्ठा हो रहे थे, येशु ने उनसे कहा, “अब मनुष्य का पुत्र मनुष्यों के हाथों में पकड़वा दिया जाएगा.
And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
23 वे उसकी हत्या कर देंगे. तीसरे दिन वह मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया जाएगा.” शिष्य अत्यंत दुःखी हो गए.
And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
24 जब वे कफ़रनहूम नगर पहुंचे, तब उन्होंने, जो मंदिर के लिए निर्धारित कर इकट्ठा करते थे, पेतरॉस के पास आकर पूछा, “क्या तुम्हारे गुरु निर्धारित कर नहीं देते?”
And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Does not your master pay tribute?
25 “हां, वह देते हैं,” पेतरॉस ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया. घर में प्रवेश करते हुए येशु ने ही पेतरॉस से प्रश्न किया, “शिमओन, मुझे यह बताओ, राजा किससे कर तथा शुल्क लेते हैं—अपनी संतान से या प्रजा से?”
He says, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What think you, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26 “प्रजा से,” पेतरॉस ने उत्तर दिया. “अर्थात् संतान कर मुक्त है.” येशु ने पेतरॉस से कहा;
Peter says unto him, Of strangers. Jesus says unto him, Then are the children free.
27 “फिर भी, ऐसा न हो कि वे हमसे क्रुद्ध हो जाएं, झील में जाओ, और अपना कांटा फेंक, जो पहले मछली पकड़ में आए उसका मुख खोलना. वहां तुम्हें एक सिक्का प्राप्त होगा. वही सिक्का उन्हें अपनी तथा मेरी ओर से कर-स्वरूप दे देना.”
Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go you to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first comes up; and when you have opened his mouth, you shall find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and you.
