यशायाह 53
1 किसने हमारी बातों पर विश्वास किया और याहवेह के हाथ किस पर प्रकट हुए हैं?
Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed?
2 क्योंकि वह जो उनके सामने अंकुर के समान और ऐसे उगा जैसे सूखी भूमि से निकला हो. उसका रूप न तो सुंदर था न प्रभावशाली कि हमें अच्छा लगे, न ही ऐसा रूप कि हम उसकी ओर देखते.
For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 वह तो मनुष्यों द्वारा तुच्छ जाना जाता तथा त्यागा हुआ था, वह दुःखी पुरुष था, रोगों से परिचित था. उसे देखकर लोग अपना मुंह छिपा लेते हैं वह तुच्छ जाना गया, और हमने उसके महत्व को न जाना.
He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.
4 उसने हमारे रोगों को सह लिया और उठा लिया उसने हमारे ही दुखों को अपने ऊपर ले लिया, स्वयं हमने उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा मारा कूटा और दुर्दशा में पड़ा हुआ समझा.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 हमारे पापों के कारण ही उसे रौंदा गया, हमारे अधर्म के कामों के कारण वह कुचला गया; उसके कोड़े खाने से, हम चंगे हुए.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 हम सभी भेड़ों के समान भटक गए थे, हममें से हर एक ने अपना मनचाहा मार्ग अपना लिया; किंतु याहवेह ने हम सभी के अधर्म का बोझ उसी पर लाद दिया.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 वह सताया गया और, फिर भी कुछ न कहा; वध के लिए ले जाए जा रहे मेमने के समान उसको ले जाया गया, तथा जैसे ऊन कतरनेवाले के सामने मेमना शांत रहता है, वैसे ही उसने भी अपना मुख न खोला.
He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
8 अत्याचार करके और दोष लगाकर उसे दंड दिया गया. वह जीवितों के बीच में से उठा लिया गया; मेरे ही लोगों के पापों के कारण उसे मार पड़ी.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke [was due]?
9 उसकी कब्र दुष्ट व्यक्तियों के साथ रखी गई, फिर भी अपनी मृत्यु में वह एक धनी व्यक्ति के साथ था, क्योंकि न तो उससे कोई हिंसा हुई थी, और न उसके मुंह से कोई छल की बात निकली.
And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 तो भी याहवेह को यही अच्छा लगा की उसे कुचले; उसी ने उसको रोगी कर दिया, ताकि वह अपने आपको पाप बलिदान के रूप में अर्पित करें, तब वह अपने वंश को देख पायेंगे और वह बहुत दिन जीवित रहेंगे, तथा इससे याहवेह की इच्छा पूरी होगी.
Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.
11 और अपने प्राणों का दुःख उठाकर उसे देखेंगे और संतोष पायेंगे; अपने ज्ञान के द्वारा वह जो धर्मी व्यक्ति है मेरा सेवक अनेकों को धर्मी बनाएगा, क्योंकि वही उनके पाप का बोझ उठाएगा.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.
12 अतः मैं उसे महान लोगों के साथ एक भाग दूंगा, वह लूटी हुई चीज़ों को सामर्थ्यी व्यक्तियों में बांट देगा, उसने अपने प्राणों को मृत्यु में ढाल दिया, उसकी गिनती अपराधियों में की गई. फिर भी उसने अनेकों के पाप का बोझ उठाया, और अपराधियों के लिए मध्यस्थता की!
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
