दानिय्येल 2

1 नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने अपने शासनकाल के दूसरे साल में स्वप्न देखे; जिससे उसका मन व्याकुल हो गया और वह सो न सका.

And in year two of [the] reign of Nebuchadnezzar he dreamed Nebuchadnezzar dreams and it was troubled spirit his and sleep his it happened on him.

2 इसलिये राजा ने आदेश दिया कि जादूगरों, टोन्हों, तांत्रिकों और ज्योतिषियों को बुलाया जाए कि वे राजा को उसका स्वप्न बताएं. जब वे आकर राजा के सामने खड़े हुए,

And he said the king to summon the soothsayer-priests and the conjurers and the sorcerers and the Chaldeans to tell to the king dreams his and they came and they stood before the king.

3 तो राजा ने उनसे कहा, “मैंने एक स्वप्न देखा है जो मुझे व्याकुल कर रहा है और मैं जानना चाहता हूं कि इसका मतलब क्या है.”

And he said to them the king a dream I have dreamed and it was troubled spirit my to know the dream.

4 तब ज्योतिषियों ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, “राजा चिरंजीवी हों! आप अपना स्वप्न अपने सेवकों को बताईये, और हम उसका अर्थ बताएंगे.”

And they spoke the Chaldeans to the king Aramaic king O for ever live! tell! dream the (to servant your *Q(K)*) and interpretation the we will declare.

5 राजा ने ज्योतिषियों को उत्तर दिया, “मैंने यह दृढ़ निश्चय किया है: यदि तुम लोग मुझे स्वप्न सहित उसका अर्थ नहीं बताओगे, तो मैं तुम्हें टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दूंगा और तुम्हारे घरों को कचरे के ढेर में बदल दूंगा.

6 पर यदि तुम स्वप्न को बताकर उसका अर्थ भी बताते हो, तो तुमको उपहार और ईनाम और बहुत आदरमान दिया जाएगा. इसलिये तुम मुझे स्वप्न बताओ और उसका अर्थ भी बताओ.”

7 एक बार फिर उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, “राजा अपना स्वप्न अपने सेवकों को बताएं, और हम उसका अर्थ बताएंगे.”

8 राजा ने उत्तर दिया, “मुझे पूरा निश्चय हो गया है कि तुम लोग समय को टालने की कोशिश कर रहे हो, क्योंकि तुम समझ चुके हो कि मैंने यह दृढ़ निश्चय कर लिया है:

9 यदि तुम मुझे स्वप्न नहीं बताते हो, तो तुम्हारे लिये सिर्फ एक ही दंड है. यह आशा करते हुए कि परिस्थिति बदलेगी, तुम लोगों ने मुझसे झूठी और बुरी बातें कहने का षड़्‍यंत्र रचा है. इसलिये अब, तुम मुझे मेरा स्वप्न बताओ, और तब मैं जान लूंगा कि तुम मुझे उस स्वप्न का अर्थ भी बता सकते हो.”

10 ज्योतिषियों ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, “पृथ्वी पर ऐसा कोई व्यक्ति नहीं जो राजा के इस पूछे गये प्रश्न का उत्तर दे सके! पर तो भी न तो किसी बड़े और शक्तिशाली राजा ने किसी जादूगर या टोन्हा या ज्योतिषी से कभी इस प्रकार की कोई बात पूछी है.

11 राजा जो बात पूछ रहे हैं, वह बहुत कठिन है. देवताओं को छोड़, और कोई राजा को यह बात नहीं बता सकता, और देवता मानव प्राणी के बीच नहीं रहते.”

12 यह सुनकर राजा इतना क्रोधित और आग बबूला हो गया कि उसने बाबेल के सब बुद्धिमान लोगों को मार डालने की आज्ञा दे दी.

13 इसलिये सब बुद्धिमान लोगों को मार डालने का आदेश निकाला गया, और लोगों को दानिएल तथा उसके मित्रों के खोज में भेजा गया कि वे भी मार डाले जाएं.

14 जब राजा के अंगरक्षकों का प्रधान आरिओख, बाबेल के बुद्धिमान लोगों को मार डालने के लिये निकला था, तो दानिएल ने उससे बुद्धिमानी और व्यवहार कुशलता से बात की.

15 उसने राजा के अधिकारी से पूछा, “राजा ने ऐसा कठोर आदेश क्यों निकाला है?” तब आरिओख ने दानिएल को वह बात बताई.

16 यह जानकर दानिएल राजा के पास गया और कुछ समय देने की मांग की, ताकि वह राजा को उसके स्वप्न का अर्थ बता सके.

And Daniel he went in and he asked from king the that time he will give to him and interpretation the to declare to king the.

17 तब दानिएल अपने घर लौटा और उसने अपने मित्रों हननियाह, मिषाएल तथा अज़रियाह को इस विषय में बताया.

Then Daniel to house his he went and to Hananiah Mishael and Azariah companions his matter the he made known.

18 उसने उनको उत्साहित किया कि वे स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर से इस रहस्य के बारे में कृपा करने की बिनती करें, ताकि वह और उसके मित्र बाबेल के बाकी बुद्धिमान लोगों के साथ न मार डाले जाएं.

And compassion to ask from before [the] God of heavens the concerning secret the this that not they will destroy Daniel and companions his with [the] rest of [the] wise men of Babylon.

19 रात के समय वह रहस्य एक दर्शन के रूप में दानिएल पर प्रगट हुआ. तब दानिएल ने स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर की महिमा की

20 और कहा: “परमेश्वर के नाम की महिमा सदा-सर्वदा होती रहे; क्योंकि बुद्धि और शक्ति उसकी है.

[was] replying Daniel and [was] saying let it be name his of true God the [be] blessed from antiquity and to perpetuity that wisdom and power which [is] to him it.

21 वही हैं, जो समय एवं ऋतुओं को बदलते हैं; वे राजाओं को गद्दी से हटाते और दूसरों को गद्दी पर बैठाते हैं. वे बुद्धिमान को बुद्धि और समझदार को ज्ञान देते हैं.

And he [is] changing times the and appointed times the [he is] removing kings and [he is] setting up kings [he is] giving wisdom to wise men and understanding to ones knowing discernment.

22 वे गूढ़ और छिपी बातों को प्रगट करते हैं; वे जानते हैं कि अंधेरे में क्या रखा है, और उनके साथ प्रकाश बना रहता है.

23 हे मेरे पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर, मैं आपको धन्यवाद देता और आपकी प्रशंसा करता हूं: क्योंकि आपने मुझे बुद्धि एवं शक्ति दी है, आपने मुझे वह बात बताई है जो हमने आपसे पूछी, आपने हम पर राजा के स्वप्न को प्रगट किया है.”

24 तब दानिएल, आरिओख के पास गया जिसे राजा ने बाबेल के बुद्धिमान लोगों को मार डालने के लिये नियुक्त किया था, और उसने आरिओख से कहा, “बाबेल के बुद्धिमान लोगों को मार डालने का काम रोक दीजिए. मुझे राजा के पास ले चलिए, और मैं राजा को उनके स्वप्न का अर्थ बताऊंगा.”

25 आरिओख तुरंत दानिएल को राजा के पास ले गया और उसने राजा से कहा, “यहूदिया से बंधुआई में आये लोगों के बीच मुझे एक ऐसा व्यक्ति मिला है, जो राजा को उसके स्वप्न का अर्थ बता सकता है.”

26 राजा ने दानिएल से पूछा (जिसे बैलशत्सर भी कहा जाता था), “क्या तुम इस योग्य हो कि मैंने स्वप्न में जो देखा है उसे और उसका अर्थ बता सको?”

27 दानिएल ने उत्तर दिया, “राजा जिस रहस्य के बारे में पूछ रहे हैं, उसके बारे में कोई भी बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति, ज्योतिषी, जादूगर या भविष्य बतानेवाला राजा को कुछ नहीं बता सकता,

28 लेकिन स्वर्ग में एक परमेश्वर हैं, जो रहस्यों को प्रगट करते हैं. उन्होंने ने ही राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र को दिखाया है कि आनेवाले दिनों में क्या होनेवाला है. जब आप अपने पलंग पर लेटे हुए थे, तब आपने जो स्वप्न और दर्शन देखे, वे ये हैं:

29 “महाराज, जब आप अपने पलंग पर लेटे थे, तब आपका मन भविष्य में होनेवाली घटनाओं की ओर हो गया, और रहस्यों के प्रगट करनेवाले ने आपको दिखाया कि भविष्य में क्या होनेवाला है.

30 जहां तक मेरी बात है, तो यह रहस्य मुझ पर इसलिये प्रकट नहीं किया गया कि मेरे पास किसी और जीवित व्यक्ति से ज्यादा बुद्धि है, पर इसलिये कि महाराज को रहस्य का अर्थ मालूम हो जाए और आप समझ जाएं कि आपके मन में क्या आया था.

31 “महाराज, आपने देखा कि आपके सामने एक बड़ी मूर्ति खड़ी थी—एक बहुत बड़ी, चौंधियानेवाली मूर्ति, दिखने में अद्भुत.

32 उस मूर्ति का सिर शुद्ध सोने से बना था, उसकी छाती और भुजाएं चांदी की, उसका पेट और जांघें कांसे की,

It image the head its of gold good breast its and arms its of silver belli its and loins its of bronze.

33 उसके टांगे लोहे की और उसके पांव कुछ लोहे के और कुछ सेंके गये मिट्टी के थे.

Legs its of iron feet its (some of them *Q(K)*) of iron (and some of them *Q(K)*) of clay.

34 जब आप देख रहे थे, तो एक चट्टान बिना किसी मानवीय प्रयास के अपने आप कटकर आई और उस मूर्ति के लोहे और मिट्टी के पांव को ऐसी ठोकर मारी कि वे चूर-चूर हो गए.

35 तब लोहा, मिट्टी, कांसा, चांदी और सोना सब टूटकर टुकड़े-टुकड़े हो गए और ग्रीष्मकाल में खलिहान के भूंसे के समान हो गये. हवा उनको ऐसे उड़ा ले गई कि उनका कोई छोटा टुकड़ा भी न बचा. पर जिस चट्टान ने मूर्ति को ठोकर मारी थी, वह चट्टान एकाएक बहुत बड़ा पहाड़ बन गई और सारी पृथ्वी में फैल गई.

36 “यही था आपका स्वप्न, और अब हम राजा को उसका अर्थ बताएंगे.

37 हे महाराज, आप तो राजाओं के राजा हैं. स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर ने आपको राज्य और अधिकार और शक्ति और महिमा दी है;

38 आपके अधीन, उन्होंने सब मानव प्राणी और भूमि के जानवर और आकाश के पक्षियों को कर दिया है. वे जहां कहीं भी रहते हैं, परमेश्वर ने आपको उनके ऊपर शासक ठहराया है. मूर्ति के सोने का वह सिर आप ही हैं.

39 “आपके बाद एक दूसरे राज्य का उदय होगा जो आपके राज्य से निचले स्तर का होगा. उसके बाद, एक तीसरे राज्य का उदय होगा, जो कांसे का प्रतिरूप होगा, जिसका शासन संपूर्ण पृथ्वी पर होगा.

And after you it will arise a kingdom another earthward more than you and a kingdom (third *Q(k)*) another of bronze the which it will rule over all earth the.

40 आखिरी में, एक चौथा राज्य होगा जो लोहे की तरह मजबूत होगा—क्योंकि लोहा सब चीज़ों को तोड़ता और चूर-चूर कर देता है—और जैसे कि लोहा चीज़ों को तोड़कर टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर देता है, वैसे ही यह राज्य भी दूसरे सभी राज्यों को कुचलकर टुकड़े कर देगा.

43 और जैसा कि आपने लोहे को सेंके गये मिट्टी के साथ मिला हुआ देखा, वैसे ही लोगों का मिश्रण होगा और उनमें एकता न होगी, क्योंकि लोहा मिट्टी के साथ मेल नहीं खाता.

44 “उन राजाओं के समय में, स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर एक ऐसे राज्य को स्थापित करेंगे, जो कभी नष्ट न होगा और न ही इस पर किसी अन्य का शासन होगा. यह राज्य उन सब राज्यों को चूर-चूर कर देगा और उनका अंत कर देगा, पर यह स्वयं सदाकाल तक बना रहेगा.

45 यह उस चट्टान के दर्शन का अर्थ है जो मनुष्य के हाथों नहीं, किंतु अपने आप एक पहाड़ से टूटकर अलग हुई थी और जिसने लोहा, कांसा, मिट्टी, चांदी और सोना को टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया था. “महान परमेश्वर ने राजा को दिखाया है कि भविष्य में क्या होनेवाला है. यह स्वप्न सत्य है तथा इसका अर्थ विश्वासयोग्य है.”

46 तब राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने दानिएल को साष्टांग दंडवत किया और उसे आदर दिया और आज्ञा दी कि दानिएल को भेंट चढ़ाई जाय और उसके सामने सुगंधित धूप जलाया जाय.

47 राजा ने दानिएल से कहा, “निश्चित रूप से तुम्हारे परमेश्वर देवताओं के परमेश्वर और राजाओं के प्रभु और रहस्यों के प्रगटकर्ता हैं, क्योंकि तुम इस रहस्य का अर्थ बताने में योग्य ठहरे.”

48 तब राजा ने दानिएल को एक ऊंचे पद पर ठहराया और उसे बहुत सारे कीमती उपहार दिये. राजा ने उसे सारे बाबेल प्रदेश का शासक बनाया और बाबेल के सब बुद्धिमान लोगों के ऊपर उसे अधिकारी ठहराया.

49 और दानिएल के अनुरोध पर राजा ने शद्रख, मेशेख तथा अबेद-नगो को बाबेल प्रदेश पर प्रशासक नियुक्त कर दिया, परंतु दानिएल स्वयं राज-दरबार में बना रहा.
