1 जब दावीद अपने लिए बनाए गए भवन में रहने लगे, तब उन्होंने भविष्यद्वक्ता नाथान से कहा, “देखिए, मैं तो देवदार से बने भवन में रह रहा हूं, मगर याहवेह की वाचा का संदूक सिर्फ पर्दों के अंदर रखा हुआ है.”

Forsothe whanne Dauid dwellide in his hows, he seide to Nathan, the prophete, Lo! Y dwelle in an hows of cedris; sotheli the arke of boond of pees of the Lord is vndur skynnys.

2 नाथान ने दावीद से कहा, “परमेश्वर आपके साथ हैं. आप वह सब कर सकते है, जो आपके हृदय में आ रहा है.”

And Nathan seide to Dauid, Do thou alle thingis that ben in thin herte, for God is with thee.

3 उसी रात परमेश्वर का वचन नाथान को प्राप्‍त हुआ:

Therfor in that nyyt the word of the Lord was maad to Nathan,

4 “मेरे सेवक दावीद से जाकर यह कहना, ‘याहवेह का कथन है: तुम वह नहीं हो, जो मेरे रहने के लिए भवन बनाएगा.

and seide, Go thou, and speke to Dauid, my seruaunt, The Lord seith these thingis, Thou schalt not bilde to me an hows to dwelle in;

5 क्योंकि इस्राएल के निकाले जाने से लेकर अब तक मैं भवन में नहीं रहा हूं. मैं एक तंबू से दूसरे तंबू में और एक निवास से दूसरे में रहता आया हूं.

for Y `dwellide not in an hows, fro that tyme in which Y ledde Israel out of the lond of Egipt til to this dai, but euere Y chaungide places of tabernacle, and dwellide in a tente with al Israel.

6 सारी इस्राएली प्रजा के साथ एक स्थान से दूसरे तक जाते हुए क्या मैंने इस्राएली प्रजा पर मेरे ही द्वारा चरवाहे के पद पर रखे गए किसी भी न्यायाध्यक्ष से यह पूछा है, “तुमने मेरे लिए देवदार की लकड़ी का भवन क्यों नहीं बनाया?”’

Where I spak nameli to oon of the iugis of Israel, to which I comaundide that thei schulde fede my puple, and seide, Whi `bildidist thou not to me an hous of cedre?

7 “तब तुम्हें अब मेरे सेवक दावीद से यह कहना होगा, सेनाओं के याहवेह का वचन है, ‘मैंने ही तुम्हें चरागाह से, भेड़ों के चरवाहे के पद पर इसलिये चुना कि तुम्हें अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल का शासक बनाऊं.

Now therfor thou schalt speke thus to my seruaunt Dauid, The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Y took thee, whanne thou suedist the floc in the lesewis, that thou schuldist be duyk on my puple Israel;

8 तुम जहां कहीं गए, मैं तुम्हारे साथ था. तुम्हारे सामने से तुम्हारे सारे शत्रुओं को मैंने मार गिराया. मैं तुम्हारे नाम को ऐसा करूंगा, जैसा पृथ्वी पर महान लोगों का होता है.

and Y was with thee whidur euere thou yedist, and Y killide alle thin enemyes bifor thee, and Y made to thee an name as of oon of the grete men that ben maad worschipful, ether `famouse, in erthe.

9 अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल के लिए मैं एक जगह तय करूंगा, मैं उन्हें वहां बसाऊंगा कि वे वहां अपने ही घरों में रह सकें और उन्हें वहां से चलाया न जाए और कोई भी दुष्ट व्यक्ति उन्हें पहले के समान परेशान न करे.

And Y yaf a place to my puple Israel; it schal be plauntid, and schal dwelle there ynne, and it schal no more be moued, and the sones of wickydnesse schulen not defoule hem,

10 हां, उस समय से शुरू करके, जब मैंने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल पर न्यायाध्यक्षों को शासक बनाया था. मैं तुम्हारे सभी शत्रुओं को दबा दूंगा. “‘इसके अलावा, मैं यह घोषित कर रहा हूं, याहवेह तुम्हें एक राजवंश के रूप में बसाएंगे:

as fro the bigynnyng, fro the daies in whiche Y yaf iugis to my puple Israel; and Y made lowe alle thin enemyes. Therfor Y telle to thee, that the Lord schal bilde an hows to thee.

11 जब तुम मृत्यु या पूरी उम्र में अपने पूर्वजों से जा मिलोगे, मैं तुम्हारे ही वंशज को तुम्हारे बाद खड़ा करूंगा. वह तुम्हारा ही अपना पुत्र होगा. मैं उसके राज्य को स्थिरता दूंगा.

And whanne thou hast fillid thi daies, that thou go to thi fadris, Y schal reise thi seed after thee, that schal be of thi sones, and Y schal stablische his rewme;

12 मेरे लिए भवन को वही बनाएगा. मैं उसका सिंहासन हमेशा के लिए स्थिर करूंगा.

he schal bilde to me an hows, and Y schal make stidefast his seete til in to with outen ende.

13 उसके लिए मैं पिता हो जाऊंगा और मेरे लिए वह पुत्र होगा. उस पर से मेरा अपार प्रेम कभी न हटेगा, जैसा मैंने तुमसे पहले के लोगों से हटा लिया था.

Y schal be to hym in to a fadir, and he schal be to me in to a sone; and Y schal not do my mersi fro hym, as Y took awei fro hym that was bifore thee;

14 मैं उसे हमेशा के लिए अपने घर में, अपने राज्य में प्रतिष्ठित करूंगा. उसका सिंहासन हमेशा के लिए अटल किया जाएगा.’”

and Y schal ordeyne hym in myn hows and in my rewme til in to with outen ende; and his trone schal be moost stidefast with outen ende.

15 नाथान ने अपने दर्शन और याहवेह के संदेश के अनुसार दावीद को सब कुछ बता दिया.

Bi alle these wordis, and bi al this reuelacioun, so Nathan spak to Dauid.

16 तब राजा दावीद जाकर याहवेह के सामने बैठ गए. वहां उनके हृदय से निकले वचन ये थे: “याहवेह परमेश्वर, कौन हूं मैं, और क्या है मेरे परिवार का पद, कि आप मुझे इस जगह तक ले आए हैं?

And whanne kyng Dauid hadde come, and hadde sete bifore the Lord, he seide, Lord God, who am Y, and what is myn hows, that thou schuldist yyue siche thingis to me?

17 परमेश्वर आपकी दृष्टि में यह छोटा सा काम था. इतना ही नहीं, अपने-अपने सेवक के परिवार के बहुत आगे के भविष्य के बारे में भी बता दिया है. याहवेह परमेश्वर, आपने मुझे ऊंचे पद के व्यक्ति का स्थान दिया है.

But also this is seyn litil in thi siyt, and therfor thou spakest on the hows of thi seruaunt, yhe, in to tyme to comynge; and hast maad me worthi to be biholdun ouer alle men.

18 “अपने सेवक को आपने जो सम्मान दिया है उसके संबंध में इसके बाद दावीद कह ही क्या सकता है? आप अपने सेवक को जानते हैं.

My Lord God, what may Dauid adde more, sithen thou hast so glorified thi seruaunt, and hast knowe hym?

19 याहवेह, आपने अपने सेवक की भलाई में और स्वयं अपने हृदय की इच्छा के अनुसार आपने ये सारे अद्भुत काम किए हैं कि इनमें आपकी महानता प्रकट हो.

Lord, for thi seruaunt thou hast do bi thin herte al this grete doyng, and woldist that alle grete thingis be knowun.

20 “जो कुछ हमने अपने कानों से सुना है, उसके अनुसार याहवेह, कोई भी नहीं है आपके समान और न कोई ईश्वर आपके बराबर आ सका है.

Lord, noon is lijk thee, and noon other God is with oute thee, of alle whiche we herden with oure eeris.

21 कौन है आपकी प्रजा इस्राएल के समान? जो पृथ्वी पर एकमात्र ऐसा देश है, जिसे अपनी प्रजा बनाने के लिए स्वयं परमेश्वर उसे छुड़ाने के लिए आगे आए. आपने जिस प्रजा को मिस्र देश से छुड़ाया था, उसके सामने से जनताओं को निकाल के, अद्भुत और भयानक कामों को दिखाकर आपने अपनी कीर्ति स्थापित की है.

For who is anothir as thi puple Israel, o folc in erthe, to whom God yede, to delyuere and make a puple to hym silf, and to caste out bi his greetnesse and dredis naciouns fro the face therof, which he delyuerede fro Egipt?

22 आपने अपने ही लिए अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल को ऐसे बनाया है कि वे सदा-सर्वदा के लिए आपकी प्रजा रहें. और, तब याहवेह, आप उनके परमेश्वर हो गए.

And thou hast set thi puple Israel in to a puple to thee til in to with outen ende, and thou, Lord, art maad the God therof.

23 “अब, याहवेह, अपने सेवक और उसके परिवार के संबंध में आपने जो कुछ प्रकट किया है, हमेशा के लिए अटल हो, और आपके वचन के अनुसार ही होता रहे.

Now therfor, Lord, the word which thou hast spoke to thi seruaunt, and on his hows, be confermed with outen ende, and do, as thou spake;

24 इस विषय में यही कहा जाए, ‘इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह ही इस्राएल के परमेश्वर हैं!’ और आपके सेवक दावीद का परिवार आपके सामने स्थिर हो जाएगा.

and thi name dwelle, and be magnefied `with outen ende; and be it seid, The Lord of oostis is God of Israel, and the hous of Dauid, his seruaunt, dwellynge bifor hym.

25 “क्योंकि मेरे परमेश्वर, आपने अपने सेवक पर यह प्रकट किया है, कि आप उसके लिए घर बनाएंगे. यही कारण है कि आपके सेवक को आपके सामने प्रार्थना करने की हिम्मत मिली है.

For thou, my Lord God, hast maad reuelacioun to the eere of thi seruaunt, that thou woldist bilde to hym an hous; and therfor thi seruaunt foond trist, that he preie bifor thee.

26 याहवेह, परमेश्वर आप हैं और आपने अपने सेवक से यह भलाई की प्रतिज्ञा की है.

Now therfor, Lord, thou art God, and hast spoke to thi seruaunt so grete benefices;

27 और अब आपकी खुशी इसमें है कि आप अपने सेवक के परिवार पर कृपादृष्टि करें, कि यह आपके सामने हमेशा अटल रहे; क्योंकि याहवेह जब आपने आशीष दी है, तो यह आशीष हमेशा के लिए ही है.”

and thou hast bigunne to blesse the hous of thi seruaunt, that it be euer bifore thee; for, Lord, for thou blessist, it schal be blessid with outen ende.
