מִשְׁלֵי 16

1 לְאָדָ֥ם מַֽעַרְכֵי־לֵ֑ב וּ֝מֵיְהוָ֗ה מַעֲנֵ֥ה לָשֹֽׁון׃

to/for man plan heart and from LORD answer tongue

2 כָּֽל־דַּרְכֵי־אִ֭ישׁ זַ֣ךְ בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְתֹכֵ֖ן רוּחֹ֣ות יְהוָֽה׃

all way: conduct man pure in/on/with eye his and to measure spirit LORD

3 גֹּ֣ל אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ וְ֝יִכֹּ֗נוּ מַחְשְׁבֹתֶֽיךָ׃

to roll to(wards) LORD deed: work your and to establish: establish plot your

4 כֹּ֤ל פָּעַ֣ל יְ֭הוָה לַֽמַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ וְגַם־רָ֝שָׁ֗ע לְיֹ֣ום רָעָֽה׃

all to work LORD to/for answer his and also wicked to/for day distress: harm

5 תֹּועֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה כָּל־גְּבַהּ־לֵ֑ב יָ֥ד לְ֝יָ֗ד לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶֽה׃

abomination LORD all high heart hand: certainly to/for hand: certainly not to clear

6 בְּחֶ֣סֶד וֶ֭אֱמֶת יְכֻפַּ֣ר עָוֹ֑ן וּבְיִרְאַ֥ת יְ֝הוָ֗ה ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃

in/on/with kindness and truth: faithful to atone iniquity: crime and in/on/with fear LORD to turn aside: depart from bad: evil

7 בִּרְצֹ֣ות יְ֭הוָה דַּרְכֵי־אִ֑ישׁ גַּם־אֹ֝ויְבָ֗יו יַשְׁלִ֥ם אִתֹּֽו׃

in/on/with to accept LORD way: conduct man also enemy his to ally with him

8 טֹוב־מְ֭עַט בִּצְדָקָ֑ה מֵרֹ֥ב תְּ֝בוּאֹ֗ות בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

pleasant little in/on/with righteousness from abundance produce in/on/with not justice

9 לֵ֣ב אָ֭דָם יְחַשֵּׁ֣ב דַּרְכֹּ֑ו וַֽ֝יהוָ֗ה יָכִ֥ין צַעֲדֹֽו׃

heart man to devise: devise way: journey his and LORD to establish: establish step his

10 קֶ֤סֶם ׀ עַֽל־שִׂפְתֵי־מֶ֑לֶךְ בְּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט לֹ֣א יִמְעַל־פִּֽיו׃

divination upon lips king in/on/with justice: judgement not be unfaithful lip his

11 פֶּ֤לֶס ׀ וּמֹאזְנֵ֣י מִ֭שְׁפָּט לַֽיהוָ֑ה מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗הוּ כָּל־אַבְנֵי־כִֽיס׃

balance and balance justice to/for LORD deed his all stone: weight purse

12 תֹּועֲבַ֣ת מְ֭לָכִים עֲשֹׂ֣ות רֶ֑שַׁע כִּ֥י בִ֝צְדָקָ֗ה יִכֹּ֥ון כִּסֵּֽא׃

abomination king to make: do wickedness for in/on/with righteousness to establish: establish throne

13 רְצֹ֣ון מְ֭לָכִים שִׂפְתֵי־צֶ֑דֶק וְדֹבֵ֖ר יְשָׁרִ֣ים יֶאֱהָֽב׃

acceptance king lips righteousness and to speak: speak upright to love: lover

14 חֲמַת־מֶ֥לֶךְ מַלְאֲכֵי־מָ֑וֶת וְאִ֖ישׁ חָכָ֣ם יְכַפְּרֶֽנָּה׃

rage king messenger death and man wise to atone her

15 בְּאֹור־פְּנֵי־מֶ֥לֶךְ חַיִּ֑ים וּ֝רְצֹונֹ֗ו כְּעָ֣ב מַלְקֹֽושׁ׃

in/on/with light face king life and acceptance his like/as cloud spring rain

16 קְֽנֹה־חָכְמָ֗ה מַה־טֹּ֥וב מֵחָר֑וּץ וּקְנֹ֥ות בִּ֝ינָ֗ה נִבְחָ֥ר מִכָּֽסֶף׃

to buy wisdom what? pleasant from gold and to buy understanding to choose from silver: money

17 מְסִלַּ֣ת יְ֭שָׁרִים ס֣וּר מֵרָ֑ע שֹׁמֵ֥ר נַ֝פְשֹׁ֗ו נֹצֵ֥ר דַּרְכֹּֽו׃

highway upright to turn aside: depart from bad: evil to keep: guard soul: life his to watch way: conduct his

18 לִפְנֵי־שֶׁ֥בֶר גָּאֹ֑ון וְלִפְנֵ֥י כִ֝שָּׁלֹ֗ון גֹּ֣בַהּ רֽוּחַ׃

to/for face: before breaking pride and to/for face: before stumbling height spirit

19 טֹ֣וב שְׁפַל־ר֭וּחַ אֶת־עֲנִיִּים (עֲנָוִ֑ים) מֵֽחַלֵּ֥ק שָׁ֝לָ֗ל אֶת־גֵּאִֽים׃

pleasant to abase spirit with (poor *Q(K)*) from to divide spoil with proud

20 מַשְׂכִּ֣יל עַל־דָּ֭בָר יִמְצָא־טֹ֑וב וּבֹוטֵ֖חַ בַּיהוָ֣ה אַשְׁרָֽיו׃

be prudent upon word to find good and to trust in/on/with LORD blessed he

21 לַחֲכַם־לֵ֭ב יִקָּרֵ֣א נָבֹ֑ון וּמֶ֥תֶק שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם יֹסִ֥יף לֶֽקַח׃

to/for wise heart to call: call to to understand and sweetness lip: words to add teaching

22 מְקֹ֣ור חַ֭יִּים שֵׂ֣כֶל בְּעָלָ֑יו וּמוּסַ֖ר אֱוִלִ֣ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃

fountain life understanding master: owning his and discipline fool(ish) folly

23 לֵ֣ב חָ֭כָם יַשְׂכִּ֣יל פִּ֑יהוּ וְעַל־שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו יֹסִ֥יף לֶֽקַח׃

heart wise be prudent lip: word his and upon lips his to add teaching

24 צוּף־דְּ֭בַשׁ אִמְרֵי־נֹ֑עַם מָתֹ֥וק לַ֝נֶּפֶשׁ וּמַרְפֵּ֥א לָעָֽצֶם׃

honeycomb honey word pleasantness sweet to/for soul and healing to/for bone: body

25 יֵ֤שׁ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יָ֭שָׁר לִפְנֵי־אִ֑ישׁ וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ דַּרְכֵי־מָֽוֶת׃

there way: conduct upright to/for face of man and end her way: conduct death

26 נֶ֣פֶשׁ עָ֭מֵל עָ֣מְלָה לֹּ֑ו כִּֽי־אָכַ֖ף עָלָ֣יו פִּֽיהוּ׃

soul: appetite labour(er) to toil to/for him for to crave upon him lip his

27 אִ֣ישׁ בְּ֭לִיַּעַל כֹּרֶ֣ה רָעָ֑ה וְעַל־שְׂפָתָיו (שְׂ֝פָתֹ֗ו) כְּאֵ֣שׁ צָרָֽבֶת׃

man Belial: worthless to pierce distress: evil and upon (lip: words his *Q(K)*) like/as fire burning

28 אִ֣ישׁ תַּ֭הְפֻּכֹות יְשַׁלַּ֣ח מָדֹ֑ון וְ֝נִרְגָּ֗ן מַפְרִ֥יד אַלּֽוּף׃

29 אִ֣ישׁ חָ֭מָס יְפַתֶּ֣ה רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְ֝הֹולִיכֹ֗ו בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ לֹא־טֹֽוב׃

man violence to entice neighbor his and to go: take him in/on/with way: conduct not pleasant

30 עֹצֶ֣ה עֵ֭ינָיו לַחְשֹׁ֣ב תַּהְפֻּכֹ֑ות קֹרֵ֥ץ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו כִּלָּ֥ה רָעָֽה׃

to shut eye his to/for to devise: devise perversity to wink lips his to end: decides distress: evil

31 עֲטֶ֣רֶת תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת שֵׂיבָ֑ה בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ צְ֝דָקָ֗ה תִּמָּצֵֽא׃

crown beauty greyheaded in/on/with way: conduct righteousness to find

32 טֹ֤וב אֶ֣רֶךְ אַ֭פַּיִם מִגִּבֹּ֑ור וּמֹשֵׁ֥ל בְּ֝רוּחֹ֗ו מִלֹּכֵ֥ד עִֽיר׃

pleasant slow face: anger from mighty man and to rule in/on/with spirit his from to capture city

33 בַּ֭חֵיק יוּטַ֣ל אֶת־הַגֹּורָ֑ל וּ֝מֵיְהוָ֗ה כָּל־מִשְׁפָּטֹֽו׃
