< Sòm 138 >
1 Yon Sòm David Mwen va bay Ou remèsiman avèk tout kè m. Mwen va chante lwanj a Ou devan lòt dye yo.
Yahweh, I thank you with all my inner being. I sing to praise you in front of [the idols of false] gods [to ridicule/belittle them].
2 Mwen va pwostène mwen vè sen tanp Ou a, e bay remèsiman a non Ou pou lanmou dous Ou ak verite Ou a; Paske Ou te bay glwa a Non ak Pawòl Ou plis ke tout bagay.
I bow down while I look towards your sacred temple, and I thank you [MTY] because you faithfully love [us] and faithfully do all that you have promised. You have shown that both you [MTY] and what you have promised to do are greater than anything else.
3 Nan jou ke m te rele Ou a, Ou te reponn mwen. Ou te fè m plen ak kouraj ak fòs nan nanm mwen.
On the day when I called out to you, you answered me; you enabled me to be strong and brave.
4 Tout wa sou latè yo va ba Ou remèsiman, O SENYÈ, lè yo fin tande pawòl a bouch Ou.
Yahweh, [some day] all the kings of this earth will praise you, because they will have heard what you have said.
5 Wi, yo va chante sou chemen SENYÈ a, paske gran se glwa SENYÈ a.
They will sing about what you have done; they will sing and say that you are very great.
6 Paske malgre SENYÈ a egzalte, Li toujou okipe (sila) ki ba yo. Men moun ki ògeye yo, Li rekonèt yo de lwen.
Yahweh, you are supreme, but you take care of people [who are considered to be] unimportant. And you know what proud people [are doing], even though they are far away [from you and think that you do not see them].
7 Malgre mwen mache nan mitan gwo twoub, Ou va fè m reprann mwen. Ou va lonje fè parèt men Ou kont kòlè ènmi m yo. Men dwat Ou va sove mwen.
When I am in the midst of [many] troubles/difficulties, you save/rescue me. With your hand/power [MTY] you rescue me from my enemies who are angry at me.
8 SENYÈ a va akonpli sa ki konsène mwen an. Lanmou dous Ou a, O SENYÈ, se pou tout tan. Pa abandone zèv men Ou yo.
Yahweh, you will do for me everything that you promised; you faithfully love [us] forever. Finish what you started to do [for us, your Israeli people.]
