2 ũrĩ mbere ya Efiraimu, na Benjamini, na Manase. Arahũra ũhoti waku, ũũke ũtũhonokie.
Before Ephraim and Beniamin and Manasseh stirre vp thy strength, and come to helpe vs.
3 Wee Ngai-rĩ, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
Turne vs againe, O God, and cause thy face to shine that we may be saued.
4 Wee Jehova Ngai mwene hinya wothe, marakara maku megũtooga nginya rĩ ũgĩũkĩrĩra mahooya ma andũ aku?
O Lord God of hostes, how long wilt thou be angrie against the prayer of thy people?
5 Nĩũmahũũnĩtie na irio cia maithori; ũtũmĩte manyue maithori maiyũrĩte mbakũri riita.
Thou hast fedde them with the bread of teares, and giuen them teares to drinke with great measure.
6 Ũtũtuĩte kĩndũ gĩa kũrũagĩrwo nĩ arĩa tũriganĩtie nao, nacio thũ ciitũ igatũnyũrũria.
Thou hast made vs a strife vnto our neighbours, and our enemies laugh at vs among themselues.
7 Wee Ngai-Mwene-Hinya-Wothe-rĩ, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
Turne vs againe, O God of hostes: cause thy face to shine, and we shalbe saued.
8 Wareehire mũthabibũ kuuma bũrũri wa Misiri; warutũrũrire ndũrĩrĩ ũkĩũhaanda arĩ guo.
Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Nĩwaũthereirie mũgũnda, naguo ũkĩgwata, na ũkĩiyũra bũrũri wothe.
Thou madest roume for it, and didest cause it to take roote, and it filled the land.
10 Irĩma nĩciahumbĩrirwo nĩ kĩĩruru kĩaguo, nayo mĩtarakwa ĩrĩa mĩnene ĩkĩhumbĩrwo nĩ honge ciaguo.
The mountaines were couered with the shadowe of it, and the boughes thereof were like the goodly cedars.
11 Watambũrũkirie honge ciaguo o nginya Iria-inĩ rĩrĩa Inene, na thuuna ciaguo ũgĩcikinyia o nginya Rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Farati.

12 Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũmomore njirigo ciaguo, ũgagĩtũma ehĩtũkĩri othe matuage thabibũ ciaguo?
Why hast thou then broken downe her hedges, so that all they, which passe by the way, haue plucked her?
13 Ũrangarangagwo nĩ ngũrwe cia gĩthaka, na ũkarĩĩo nĩ nyamũ cia werũ-inĩ.
The wilde bore out of the wood hath destroyed it, and the wilde beastes of the fielde haue eaten it vp.
14 Wee Ngai Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, tũcookerere! Rora ũrĩ igũrũ wone! Rũmbũiya mũthabibũ ũyũ,
Returne we beseech thee, O God of hostes: looke downe from heauen and beholde and visite this vine,
15 mũri ũrĩa guoko gwaku kwa ũrĩo kwahaandire, mũriũ ũrĩa wee mwene wĩrereire.
And the vineyard, that thy right hand hath planted, and the young vine, which thou madest strong for thy selfe.
16 Mũthabibũ waku nĩũtemetwo, ũgacinwo na mwaki; thũ ciaku irothira nĩ ũndũ wa irũithia rĩaku.
It is burnt with fire and cut downe: and they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17 Guoko gwaku kũroikara na mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ guoko-inĩ gwaku kwa ũrĩo, ũcio mũrũ wa mũndũ wĩrereire wee mwene.
Let thine hande be vpon the man of thy right hande, and vpon the sonne of man, whome thou madest strong for thine owne selfe.
18 No ithuĩ-rĩ, tũtigatigana nawe o rĩ; tũrurumũkie na nĩtũrĩkayagĩra rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
So will not we goe backe from thee: reuiue thou vs, and we shall call vpon thy Name.
19 Wee Jehova Ngai Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, tũma tũgaacĩre rĩngĩ; tũma ũthiũ waku ũtwarĩre, nĩguo tũhonoke.
