< Thaburi 71 >
1 Wee Jehova-rĩ, njũrĩire harĩwe; ndũkanakĩreke njonorithio.
In thee, O Yahweh, have I sought refuge, May I not be ashamed unto times age-abiding:
2 Ndeithũra na ũũhonokie nĩ ũndũ wa ũthingu waku; thikĩrĩria ũũhonokie.
In thy righteousness, wilt thou rescue me, and deliver me, Incline unto me thine ear, and save me:
3 Tuĩka rwaro rwakwa rwa ihiga rwa kũũrĩra, harĩa ingĩthiĩ hĩndĩ ciothe; athana honokio, nĩgũkorwo nĩwe rwaro rwakwa rwa ihiga na kĩirigo gĩakwa kĩa hinya.
Be thou unto me, a Rock to dwell in, a Place of Security, To save me, For, my mountain crag and my stronghold, thou art.
4 Honokia, Wee Ngai wakwa, kuuma guoko-inĩ kwa andũ arĩa aaganu, ũndeithũre kuuma ngumbaco ya andũ arĩa ooru na matarĩ tha.
Oh my God, deliver me, From the hand of the lawless one, From the clutch of the perverse and ruthless one;
5 Nĩgũkorwo ũkoretwo ũrĩ kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro gĩakwa, Wee Mwathani Jehova, ũtũũrĩte ũrĩ mwĩhoko wakwa kuuma ndĩ o mũnini.
For, thou, art my hope, My Lord, Yahweh, My confidence from my youthful days:
6 Kuuma gũciarwo gwakwa ndũũrĩte ngwĩhokete; nĩwe wandutire nda ya maitũ. Ngũtũũra ngũgoocaga.
Upon thee, have I stayed myself from birth, Thou art he that severed me, from the body of my mother, Of thee, shall be my praise—continually.
7 Nĩnduĩkĩte ta kĩndũ gĩa kũgegania harĩ andũ aingĩ, no nĩwe rĩũrĩro rĩakwa rĩa hinya.
A very wonder, have I been unto many, Seeing that, thou, hast been my strong refuge,
8 Kanua gakwa kaiyũrĩte ũgooci waku, gatindaga gakĩgana riiri waku mũthenya wothe.
My mouth shall be filled with, thy praise, All the day, with thy splendour.
9 Ndũkande hĩndĩ ya ũkũrũ; ndũkanandiganĩrie rĩrĩa itarĩ na hinya.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age, When my vigour faileth, do not forsake me;
10 Nĩgũkorwo thũ ciakwa ciaragia ũhoro wa kũnjũkĩrĩra; acio metagĩrĩra kũnjũraga nĩmacokanĩtie ndundu.
For mine enemies have spoken of me, And, they who watch for my life, have taken counsel together;
11 Moigaga atĩrĩ, “Ngai nĩamũtiganĩirie; hanyũkaniai nake mũmũnyiite, nĩgũkorwo ndarĩ mũndũ wa kũmũteithũra.”
Saying, God, hath forsaken him, Pursue and take him, For there is none to rescue.
12 Wee Ngai, tiga kũndaihĩrĩria; Wee Ngai wakwa, ũka narua ũndeithie.
O God, be not far from me, O my God, to help me, make haste!
13 Acio maathitangaga-rĩ, maroconoka na maniinwo; acio mendaga kũnjĩka ũũru, maronyararwo na maconorwo.
Let them be ashamed—be consumed, Who are assailing my life, —Let them be covered with reproach and confusion, Who are seeking my hurt.
14 No niĩ-rĩ, ndĩrĩkoragwo na kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro hĩndĩ ciothe; ndĩrĩkĩragĩrĩria gũkũgooca mũno makĩria.
But, I, continually will hope, And will add to all thy praise;
15 Kanua gakwa karĩganaga ũthingu waku, ndindage o ngĩgana ũhonokio waku mũthenya wothe, o na gũtuĩka ndiũĩ mũigana waguo.
My mouth, shall relate thy righteousness, All the day, thy deliverance, For I know not the numbers.
16 Wee Mwathani Jehova, ngũũka ngĩanagĩrĩra ciĩko ciaku cia hinya, nyanĩrĩre ũthingu waku, o ũthingu waku wiki.
I will enter into the mighty doings of My Lord—Yahweh, I will make mention of thy righteousness—thine alone.
17 Kuuma ndĩ o mũnini, Wee Ngai, ũtũũrĩte ũndutaga, na nginyagia ũmũthĩ no nyumbũraga ciĩko ciaku cia magegania.
O God, thou hast taught me from my youthful days, And, hitherto, have I been wont to tell of thy wonders;
18 Wee Ngai, o na ndakũra ngĩe mbuĩ, ndũkanandiganĩrie, o nginya nyumbũre ũhoro wa ũhoti waku kũrĩ rũciaro rũrĩa rũrooka, na nyumbũre ũhoro wa hinya waku kũrĩ arĩa othe magooka thuutha.
Even now, therefore, that I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, —Until I tell of thine arm unto a [new] generation, Unto every one that is to come, thy might;
19 Wee Ngai-rĩ, ũthingu waku ũkinyĩte o matu-inĩ, Wee wĩkĩte maũndũ manene. Wee Ngai-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩ ũhaana ta we?
And, as for thy righteousness, O God, up on high, Wherein thou hast wrought great things, O God! who is like unto thee?
20 O na gũtuĩka nĩũtũmĩte nyone mathĩĩna maingĩ na marũrũ-rĩ, nĩũkariũkia muoyo wakwa rĩngĩ; nĩũkandiũkia rĩngĩ kuuma thĩ kũrĩa kũriku.
Thou who hast let us see many distresses and misfortunes, Wilt again bring us to life, And, out of the resounding depths of the earth, wilt again raise us up;
21 Nĩũkongerera gĩtĩĩo gĩakwa, na ũũhoorerie o rĩngĩ.
Thou wilt increase my greatness, And, on every side, wilt comfort me.
I also, will praise thee by the aid of a harp, Thy faithfulness, O my God, —I will make music unto thee with a lyre, Thou holy one of Israel;
23 Mĩromo yakwa nĩrĩanagĩrĩra nĩ gũkena rĩrĩa ngũina ngũgooce, o niĩ, ũrĩa Wee ũkũũrĩte.
My lips shall make a joyful noise, When I make music unto thee, And my soul which thou hast ransomed;
24 Rũrĩmĩ rwakwa rũrĩrahaga ũhoro wa ciĩko ciaku cia ũthingu mũthenya wothe, nĩgũkorwo arĩa meendaga kũnjĩka ũũru nĩmaconorithĩtio na makarigiicwo.
Even my tongue, all the day, shall softly utter thy righteousness, For they have turned pale—for they have blushed, Who were seeking my hurt.
