< Thaburi 30 >

1 Wee Jehova-rĩ, nĩngũgũtũũgĩria nĩgũkorwo wandutire kũrĩa kũriku, na ũkĩgiria thũ ciakwa ingenerere.
[A Psalm. A Song for the Dedication of the Temple. By David.] I will extol you, Jehovah, for you have raised me up, and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 Wee Jehova Ngai wakwa, ndagũkaĩire ũndeithie nawe ũkĩĩhonia.
Jehovah my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me.
3 Wee Jehova, wandutire kuuma mbĩrĩra-inĩ; ũkĩgiria njikũrũke, ndoonye irima. (Sheol h7585)
Jehovah, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. (Sheol h7585)
4 Inĩrai Jehova mũmũgooce, inyuĩ andũ ake aamũre; mũgooce rĩĩtwa rĩu rĩake itheru,
Sing praise to Jehovah, you his faithful ones. Give thanks to his holy name.
5 nĩgũkorwo marakara make nĩ ma kahinda o kanini, no ũtugi wake nĩwagũtũũria mũndũ muoyo; kĩrĩro no kĩraarĩre ũtukũ wothe no rũciinĩ gwakĩa kũrooke gĩkeno.
For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
6 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ndagaacĩire, ndoigire atĩrĩ, “Ndirĩ hĩndĩ ngenyenyeka.”
As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I shall never be moved."
7 Wee Jehova, rĩrĩa wanyonirie ũtugi waku-rĩ, watũmire ndĩhaande o ta kĩrĩma; no rĩrĩa wahithire ũthiũ waku-rĩ, nĩndamakire.
You, Jehovah, when you favored me, made my mountain stand strong; but when you hid your face, I was troubled.
8 Wee Jehova nĩwe ndakaĩire; ngĩthaitha Mwathani anjiguĩre tha:
I cried to you, Jehovah. To Jehovah I made petition:
9 “Mwanangĩko wakwa ũngĩkorwo na uumithio ũrĩkũ, ingĩtoonyerera irima-inĩ? Rũkũngũ-rĩ, no rũkũgooce? No rwanĩrĩre wĩhokeku waku?
"What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth?
10 Wee Jehova, thikĩrĩria na ũnjiguĩre tha; Wee Jehova, tuĩka ũteithio wakwa.”
Hear, Jehovah, and have mercy on me. Jehovah, be my helper."
11 Wagarũrire kĩgirĩko gĩakwa gĩgĩtuĩka rwĩmbo rwa gĩkeno; ũkĩnduta nguo yakwa ya ikũnia, ũkĩhumba gĩkeno,
You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,
12 nĩgeetha ngoro yakwa ĩkũinĩre na ndĩgakire. Wee Jehova Ngai wakwa, ngũtũũra ngũcookagĩria ngaatho nginya tene.
To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. Jehovah my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
