< Thaburi 132 >
1 Thaburi ya Agendi Wee Jehova, ririkana Daudi na mathĩĩna marĩa mothe omĩrĩirie.
A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. Lord, remember David, and all that he went through.
2 Nĩehĩtire mwĩhĩtwa harĩ Jehova, akĩĩhĩta harĩ ũcio Mwene-Hinya, o we Ngai wa Jakubu, akiuga ũũ:
He made a promise to the Lord, a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “Ndigatoonya nyũmba yakwa, kana haice ũrĩrĩ wakwa,
“I will not go home, I will not go to bed,
4 ndikaareke maitho makwa mone toro, kana ndeke imone ciakwa icũnge,
I will not go to sleep, I will not take a nap,
5 o nginya ngoonera Jehova handũ ha gũikara, ũcio Mwene-Hinya, o we Ngai wa Jakubu, ndĩmuonere gĩikaro.”
until I find a place where the Lord can live, a home for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 Nĩtwaiguire ũhoro tũrĩ Efiratha, na tũkĩũkora mĩgũnda-inĩ ya Kiriathu Jearimu.
In Ephrathah we received information about the Ark of Agreement, and we found it in fields near Jaar.
7 Tũkiuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩtũthiĩi gĩikaro-inĩ gĩake; nĩtũinamĩrĩre tũmũhooe tũrĩ gaturwa-inĩ ka makinya make;
Let's go to the place where the Lord lives and bow down at his feet in worship.
8 arahũka, Wee Jehova, ũũke kĩhurũko-inĩ gĩaku, wee na ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro rĩa hinya waku.
Come, Lord, and enter your home, together with your Ark of your power.
9 Athĩnjĩri aku marohumbwo na ũthingu; andũ aku aamũre nĩmakĩine nĩ gũkena.”
May your priests wear goodness like clothing; may your faithful people shout for joy.
10 Nĩ ũndũ wa ndungata yaku Daudi, ndũkarega ũrĩa we ũitĩrĩirie maguta.
For the sake of your servant David, don't reject the king you have chosen.
11 Jehova nĩehĩtire na mwĩhĩtwa harĩ Daudi, mwĩhĩtwa atangĩĩricũkwo, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ: “Nĩngaikarĩria ũmwe wa rũciaro rwaku Gĩtĩ-inĩ gĩaku kĩa ũnene,
The Lord made a solemn promise to David, one he will never cancel—“I will put one of your descendants on your throne.
12 ariũ aku mangĩkaamenyerera kĩrĩkanĩro gĩakwa na mawatho makwa marĩa ndĩrĩmarutaga, hĩndĩ ĩyo ariũ ao nĩmagaikarĩra gĩtĩ gĩaku kĩa ũnene nginya tene na tene.”
If your sons keep to my agreement and my laws that I will teach them, then their sons will always occupy your throne.”
13 Nĩgũkorwo Jehova nĩathuurĩte Zayuni, akerirĩria gũtuĩke gĩikaro gĩake, akoiga atĩrĩ:
For the Lord has chosen Zion, wanting to make his home there, saying:
14 “Gĩkĩ nĩkĩo kĩhurũko gĩakwa nginya tene na tene; gũkũ nĩkuo ngũtũũra njikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene, nĩgũkorwo nĩ niĩ ndĩyendeire;
“This will always be my home; this is where I want to live.
15 nĩngakũrathima na ũmaathi mũingĩ mũno; athĩĩni akuo ndĩmahũũnie na irio.
I will provide the people of the city with all they need; I will feed the poor.
16 Nĩngahumba athĩnjĩri-Ngai akuo ũhonokio, na andũ akuo arĩa aamũre matũũre mainaga nĩ gũkena.
I will clothe its priests with salvation; and its faithful people will shout for joy.
17 “Kũu nĩkuo ngaatũma rũhĩa rwa Daudi rũthundũke na njigĩre ũrĩa njitĩrĩirie maguta tawa ũgwakana.
I will make the line of David even more powerful. I have prepared a lamp for my chosen king.
18 Thũ ciake nĩngacihumba thoni, no thũmbĩ ya ũnene ĩrĩa ĩrĩ mũtwe wake nĩĩgakenga na riiri.”
I will humiliate his enemies, but the crown he wears will shine brightly.”
