7 Andũ arĩa athingu nĩmamenyagĩrĩra kĩhooto kĩa arĩa athĩĩni, no arĩa aaganu matirũmbũyagia kĩhooto kĩao.
The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
8 Anyũrũrania matũmaga itũũra inene rĩrĩmbũke ta mwaki, no andũ oogĩ nĩkũniina maniinaga marakara.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 Andũ arĩa maitaga thakame nĩmathũire mũndũ mwĩhokeku, no andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru macaragia ũrĩa mangĩtiirĩrĩra muoyo wake.
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.
14 Mũthamaki angĩtuĩra athĩĩni ciira na kĩhooto-rĩ, gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene gĩtũũraga kĩrũmĩte nginya tene.
The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 Rũthanju na kũrũithio ciĩkagĩra mũndũ ũũgĩ, no mwana wa kũrekererio aconorithagia nyina.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
16 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa andũ aaganu matheerema, noguo mehia matheeremaga, no andũ arĩa athingu nĩmakerorera igwa rĩao.
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.

A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Wanona mũndũ ũhiũhaga kwaria? Mũndũ mũkĩĩgu arĩ na kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro kũmũkĩra.
See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 Mũndũ wa marakara aarahũraga ngarari, nake mũndũ wa marũrũ agĩĩaga na mehia maingĩ.
An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23 Mwĩtĩĩo wa mũndũ nĩũmũnyiihagia, no mũndũ ũrĩa wa ngoro ya kwĩnyiihia nĩagatĩĩo.

Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD.
27 Andũ arĩa athingu monaga andũ arĩa matarĩ ehokeku ta kĩndũ kĩrĩ magigi; nao andũ arĩa aaganu moonaga andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru ta kĩndũ kĩrĩ magigi.
An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
