< Hosea 7 >
1 o rĩrĩa ndenda kũhonia Isiraeli-rĩ, mehia ma Efiraimu makonanio, nacio ngero cia Samaria ikaguũrio. Maaragia maũndũ ma maheeni, na aici magatua nyũmba, magatoonya, nacio njangiri igatunyana indo njĩra-inĩ;
When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.
2 no rĩrĩ, matimenyaga atĩ nĩndirikanaga ciĩko icio ciao njũru ciothe. Mehia mao nĩmamarigiicĩirie; makoragwo mbere yakwa hĩndĩ ciothe.
They do not consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.
3 “Makenagia mũthamaki na waganu wao, magakenia anene na maheeni mao.
They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4 Othe nĩ itharia, maakanaga ta riiko rĩa kũrugĩra mĩgate, rĩrĩa mũrugi wa mĩgate atabataragio nĩ gwakĩrĩria kuuma gũkanda mũtu nginya ũimbe.
They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.
5 Mũthenya wa gĩathĩ kĩa mũthamaki witũ-rĩ, we na anene ake manyuuaga ndibei makarĩĩo, nake akanyiitana moko na arĩa manyũrũranagia.
On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.
6 Ngoro ciao nĩ ta riiko rĩa kũrugĩra mĩgate; mathiiaga harĩ we marĩ na waara. Thuti ciao ciakanaga kahora ũtukũ wothe; nakuo gwakĩa rũciinĩ igaakana ta mwaki wa rũrĩrĩmbĩ.
For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all the night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
7 Othe mahiũhĩte ta riiko rĩa kũrugĩra mĩgate; moragaga aathani ao. Athamaki ao othe maniinagwo, na gũtirĩ o na ũmwe wao ũngayagĩra.
They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.
8 “Efiraimu nĩetukanĩtie na ndũrĩrĩ; Efiraimu nĩ mũgate ũtarĩ mũgarũre.
Ephraim, he mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.
9 Andũ a kũngĩ marĩĩaga hinya wake, nowe ndamenyaga ũguo. Njuĩrĩ ciake irĩ na mbuĩ, nowe ndoonaga ũguo.
Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn't realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn't realize it.
10 Mwĩtĩĩo wa Isiraeli nĩũrutaga ũira wa kũmũũkĩrĩra, no o na kũrĩ ũguo-rĩ, we ndacookagĩrĩra Jehova Ngai wake, kana akamũrongooria.
The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven't returned to the LORD their God, nor sought him, for all this.
11 “Efiraimu ahaana ta ndutura, ĩrĩa ĩheenekaga narua, ĩtarĩ ũmenyo; rĩmwe akayagĩra bũrũri wa Misiri na rĩrĩa rĩngĩ agathiĩ Ashuri.
"Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.
12 Rĩrĩa magaathiĩ-rĩ, nĩngaikia wabu yakwa igũrũ rĩao; nĩngamaharũrũkia ta nyoni cia rĩera-inĩ. Rĩrĩa ngaigua nĩmaracookanĩrĩra-rĩ, nĩngamanyiita.
When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
13 Kaĩ marĩ na haaro-ĩ, tondũ nĩmandiganĩirie! Maroniinwo, tondũ nĩmanemeire! Niĩ nĩnyendaga kũmahonokia, no-o no igenyo manjigagĩrĩra.
Woe to them. For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them. For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
14 Matingayagĩra kuuma ngoro-inĩ ciao, no kũgirĩka magirĩkaga marĩ marĩrĩ-inĩ mao. Monganaga hamwe nĩ ũndũ wa ngano, na ndibei ya mũhihano, no niĩ makaahutatĩra.
They haven't cried to me with their heart, but they wail on their beds. They cut themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.
15 Ndaamathomithirie na ngĩmekĩra hinya, no-o mathugundaga kũnjĩka ũũru.
Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.
16 Maticookagĩrĩra Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno; mahaana ta ũta ũrĩa ũhĩtagia wathi. Atongoria ao makooragwo na rũhiũ rwa njora, nĩ ũndũ wa ciugo ciao cia rũtũrĩko. Nĩ ũndũ wa ũguo nĩmakanyũrũrio kũu bũrũri wa Misiri.
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
