1 Ariũ a Lawi maarĩ: Gerishoni, na Kohathu, na Merari.

The sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

2 Ariũ a Kohathu maarĩ: Amuramu, na Iziharu, na Hebironi, na Uzieli.

The sons of Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hebron, and Oziel.

3 Ciana cia Amuramu ciarĩ: Harũni, na Musa, na Miriamu. Ariũ a Harũni maarĩ: Nadabu, na Abihu, na Eleazaru, na Ithamaru.

The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Mary. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abiu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4 Eleazaru nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Finehasi, na Finehasi nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Abishua,

Eleazar beget Phinees, and Phinees beget Abisue,

5 na Abishua nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Buki, na Buki nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Uzi,

And Abisue beget Bocci, and Bocci begot Ozi.

6 na Uzi nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Zerahia, na Zerahia nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Meraiothu,

Ozi beget Zaraias, and Zaraias beget Maraioth.

7 na Meraiothu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Amaria, na Amaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Ahitubu,

And Maraioth beget Amarias, and Amarias beget Achitob.

8 na Ahitubu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Zadoku, na Zadoku nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Ahimaazu,

Achitob beget Sadoc, and Sadoc begot Achimaas.

9 na Ahimaazu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Azaria, na Azaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Johanani,

Achimaas beget Azarias, Azarias begot Johanan,

10 na Johanani nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Azaria (ũrĩa watungataga arĩ mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ĩrĩa Solomoni aakire kũu Jerusalemu),

Johanan beget Azarias. This is he that executed the priestly office in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem.

11 na Azaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Amaria, na Amaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Ahitubu,

And Azarias beget Amarias, and Amarias beget Achitob.

12 na Ahitubu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Zadoku, na Zadoku nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Shalumu,

And Achitob beget Sadoc, and Sadoc beget Sellum,

13 na Shalumu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Hilikia, na Hilikia nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Azaria,

Sellum beget Helcias, and Helcias beget Azarias,

14 na Azaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Seraia, na Seraia nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Jehozadaku.

Azarias beget Saraias, and Saraias beget Josedec.

15 Jehozadaku nĩathaamirio hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jehova aarekereirie andũ a Juda na a Jerusalemu matahwo nĩ Nebukadinezaru.

Now Josedec went out, when the Lord carried away Juda, and Jerusalem, by the hands of Nabuchodonosor.

16 Ariũ a Lawi maarĩ: Gerishoni, na Kohathu, na Merari.

So the sons of Levi were Gerson, Caath, and Merari.

17 Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma ariũ a Gerishoni: Libini na Shimei.

And these are the names of the sons of Gerson: Lobni and Semei.

18 Ariũ a Kohathu maarĩ: Amuramu, na Iziharu, na Hebironi, na Uzieli.

The sons of Caath: Amram, and Isaar, and Hebron, and Oziel.

19 Ariũ a Merari maarĩ: Mahili na Mushi. Icio nĩcio mbarĩ cia Alawii ciandĩkĩtwo kũringana na maithe mao:

The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi. And these are the kindreds of Levi according to their families.

20 Ariũ a Gerishoni maarĩ: mũriũ Libini, nake Jehathu aarĩ mũriũ wa Libini, nake Zima aarĩ mũriũ wa Jehathu,

Of Gerson: Lobni his son, Jahath his son, Zamma his son,

21 nake Joa aarĩ mũriũ wa Zima, nake Ido aarĩ mũriũ wa Joa, nake Zera aarĩ mũriũ wa Ido, nake Jeatherai aarĩ mũriũ wa Zera.

Joah his son, Addo his son, Zara his son, Jethrai his son.

The sons of Caath, Aminadab his son, Core his son, Asir his son,

Elcana his son, Abiasaph his son, Asir his son,

24 nake Tahathu aarĩ mũriũ wa Asiru, nake Urieli aarĩ mũriũ wa Tahathu, nake Uzia aarĩ mũriũ wa Urieli, nake Shauli aarĩ mũriũ wa Uzia.

Thahath his son, Uriel his son, Ozias his son, Saul his son.

The sons of Elcana: Amasai, and Achimoth.

And Elcana. The sons of Elcana: Sophai his son, Nahath his son,

27 nake Eliabu aarĩ mũriũ wa Nahathu, nake Jerohamu aarĩ mũriũ wa Eliabu, nake Elikana aarĩ mũriũ wa Jerohamu, nake Samũeli aarĩ mũriũ wa Elikana.

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elcana his son.

28 Ariũ a Samũeli maarĩ: Joeli irigithathi, na mũriũ wa keerĩ aarĩ Abija.

The sons of Samuel: the firstborn Vasseni, and Abia.

29 Njiaro cia Merari ciarĩ: Mahili, nake mũriũ aarĩ Libini, nake Shimei aarĩ mũriũ wa Libini, nake Uza aarĩ mũriũ wa Shimei,

And the sons of Merari, Moholi: Lobni his son, Semei his son, Oza his son,

30 nake Shimea aarĩ mũriũ wa Uza, nake Hagia aarĩ mũriũ wa Shimea, nake Asaia aarĩ mũriũ wa Hagia.

Sammaa his son, Haggia his son, Asaia his son.

31 Aya nĩo andũ arĩa Daudi aatuire arũgamĩrĩri a ũini nyũmba-inĩ ya Jehova thuutha wa ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro gũkinya kũu.

These are they, whom David set over the singing men of the house of the Lord, after that the ark was placed:

32 Maatungataga na ũini Hema-inĩ-ya-Gũtũnganwo o nginya rĩrĩa Solomoni aakire hekarũ ya Jehova kũu Jerusalemu. Nao maarutaga wĩra wao kũringana na mawatho marĩa maatuĩtwo.

And they ministered before the tabernacle of the testimony, with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they stood according to their order in the ministry.

And these are they that stood with their sons, of the sons of Caath, Hemam a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Sammuel,

34 mũrũ wa Elikana, mũrũ wa Jerohamu, mũrũ wa Elieli, mũrũ wa Toa,

The son of Elcana, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Thohu,

35 mũrũ wa Zufu, mũrũ wa Elikana, mũrũ wa Mahathu mũrũ wa Amasai,

The son of Suph, the son of Elcana, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 mũrũ wa Elikana, mũrũ wa Joeli, mũrũ wa Azaria, mũrũ wa Zefania,

The son of Elcana, the son of Johel, the son of Azarias, the son of Sophonias,

37 mũrũ wa Tahathu, mũrũ wa Asiru, mũrũ wa Ebiasafu, mũrũ wa Kora,

The son of Thahath, the son of Asir, the son or Abiasaph, the son of Core,

38 mũrũ wa Iziharu, mũrũ wa Kohathu, mũrũ wa Lawi, mũrũ wa Isiraeli;

The son of Isaar, the son of Caath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 na Asafu, mũthiritũ wa Hemani, ũrĩa watungataga mwena wake wa ũrĩo: Asafu aarĩ mũrũ wa Berekia, mũrũ wa Shimea,

And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, Asaph the son of Barachias, the son of Samaa.

40 mũrũ wa Mikaeli, mũrũ wa Baaseia, mũrũ wa Malikija

The son of Michael, the son of Basaia, the son of Melchia.

41 mũrũ wa Ethini, mũrũ wa Zera, mũrũ wa Adaia,

The son of Athanai, the son of Zara, the son of Adaia.

42 mũrũ wa Ethani, mũrũ wa Zima, mũrũ wa Shimei,

The son of Ethan, the son of Zamma, the son of Semei.

43 mũrũ wa Jahathu, mũrũ wa Gerishoni, mũrũ wa Lawi;

The son of Jeth, the son of Gerson, the son of Levi.

44 na kuuma kũrĩ athiritũ ao, Amerari, arĩa maatungataga marĩ mwena wake wa ũmotho, maarĩ: Ethani mũrũ wa Kishi, mũrũ wa Abudi, mũrũ wa Maluku,

And the sons of Merari their brethren, on the left hand, Ethan the son of Cusi, the son of Abdi, the son of Meloch,

45 mũrũ wa Hashabia, mũrũ wa Amazia, mũrũ wa Hilikia,

The son of Hasabia, the son of Amasai, the son of Helcias,

46 mũrũ wa Amuzi, mũrũ wa Bani, mũrũ wa Shemeri,

The son of Amasai, the son of Boni, the son of Somer,

47 mũrũ wa Mahali, mũrũ wa Mushi, mũrũ wa Merari, mũrũ wa Lawi.

The son of Moholi, the son of Mud, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Alawii arĩa maarĩ a thiritũ yao maagaĩirwo mawĩra marĩa mangĩ mothe ma hema ĩrĩa nyamũre, o ĩyo nyũmba ya Ngai.

Their brethren also the Levites, who were appointed for all the ministry of the tabernacle of the house of the Lord.

49 No Harũni na njiaro ciake nĩo maarutaga magongona kĩgongona-inĩ kĩa igongona rĩa njino, na kĩgongona-inĩ gĩa gũcinĩrwo ũbumba, na wĩra wothe warutagwo ũkonainie na Handũ-hau-Hatheru-Mũno, nĩ ũndũ wa kũhoroheria andũ a Isiraeli mehia, kũringana na ũrĩa Musa ndungata ya Ngai yaathanĩte.

But Aaron and his sons offered burnt offerings upon the altar of holocausts, and upon the altar of incense, for very work of the holy of holies: and to pray for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

Sadoc his son, Achimaas his son.

54 Na rĩrĩ, gũkũ nĩkuo kũndũ kũrĩa maagaĩirwo kũrĩ bũrũri wao (nakuo kwagaĩirwo njiaro cia Harũni iria ciarĩ cia mbarĩ ya Kohathu, tondũ igai rĩa mbere rĩarĩ rĩao):

And these are their dwelling places by the towns and confines, to wit, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Caathites: for they fell to them by lot.

55 Maaheirwo Hebironi kũu Juda, o hamwe na ũrĩithio ũrĩa warigiicĩirie.

And they gave them Hebron in the land of Juda, and the suburbs thereof round about:

56 No mĩgũnda na matũũra marĩa maakuhĩrĩirie itũũra inene maaheirwo Kalebu mũrũ wa Jefune.

But the fields of the city, and the villages to Caleb son of Jephone.

57 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio njiaro cia Harũni ciaheirwo Hebironi (itũũra inene rĩa kũũrĩra) na Libina, na Jatiri, na Eshitemoa,

And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities for refuge Hebron, and Lobna, and the suburbs thereof,

58 na Hileni, na Debiri,

And Jether and Esthemo, with their suburbs, and Helon, and Dabir with their suburbs:

59 na Ashani, na Juta, na Bethi-Shemeshu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

Asan also, and Bethsames, with their suburbs.

60 Na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Benjamini maaheirwo Gibeoni, na Geba, na Alemethu, na Anathothu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo. Matũũra marĩa maagaĩirwo mĩhĩrĩga ya Akohathu mothe maarĩ ikũmi na matatũ.

And out of the tribe of Benjamin: Gabee and its suburbs, Almath with its suburbs, Anathoth also with its suburbs: all their cities throughout their families were thirteen.

61 Njiaro icio ingĩ cia Kohathu ciaheirwo matũũra ikũmi, kuuma kũrĩ nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase.

And to the sons of Caath that remained of their kindred they gave out of the half tribe of Manasses ten cities in possession.

62 Njiaro cia Gerishoni, mbarĩ o mbarĩ ciagaĩirwo matũũra ikũmi na matatũ kuuma kũrĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Isakaru, na wa Asheri, na wa Nafitali, na kuuma kũrĩ gĩcunjĩ kĩa mũhĩrĩga wa Manase ũrĩa ũrĩ Bashani.

And to the sons of Gerson by their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephtali, and out of the tribe of Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.

63 Njiaro cia Merari, mbarĩ o mbarĩ, ciagaĩirwo matũũra ikũmi na meerĩ kuuma kũrĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Rubeni, na wa Gadi, na wa Zebuluni.

And to the sons of Merari by their families out of the tribe of Ruben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulon, they gave by lot twelve cities.

64 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ a Isiraeli makĩhe Alawii matũũra macio na ũrĩithio wamo.

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities, and their suburbs.

65 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Juda, na wa Simeoni, na wa Benjamini makĩmahe matũũra macio magwetetwo.

And they gave them by lot, out of the tribe of the sons of Juda, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which they called by their names.

66 Mbarĩ imwe cia Akohathu ciaheirwo matũũra nĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Efiraimu matuĩke bũrũri wao.

And to them that were of the kindred of the sons of Caath, and the cities in their borders were of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Kuuma bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ irĩma wa Efiraimu maaheirwo Shekemu (itũũra rĩa kũũrĩra), na Gezeri,

And they gave the cities of refuge Sichem with its suburbs in mount Ephraim, and Gazer with its suburbs,

68 na Jokimeamu, na Bethi-Horoni,

Jecmaan also with its suburbs, and Beth-horon in like manner,

69 na Aijaloni, na Gathi-Rimoni, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

Helon also with its suburbs, and Gethremmon in like manner,

70 Na kuuma nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase-rĩ, andũ a Isiraeli makĩheana matũũra ma Aneri na Bileamu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo, kũrĩ mbarĩ iria ingĩ cia Akohathu.

And out of the half tribe of Manasses, Aner and its suburbs, Baalam and its suburbs: to wit, to them that were left of the family of the sons of Caath.

71 Agerishoni maagaĩirwo matũũra maya: Kuuma nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase makĩheo Golani kũu Bashani, o na Ashitarothu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

And to the sons of Gersom, out of the kindred of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon, in Basan, and its suburbs, and Astharoth with its suburbs.

72 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Isakaru makĩheo Kadeshi, na Daberathu,

Out of the tribe of Issachar, Cedes and its suburbs, and Dabereth with its suburbs;

73 na Ramothu, na Anemu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

Ramoth also and its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs.

74 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Asheri makĩheo Mashali, na Abidoni,

And out of the tribe of Aser: Masal with its suburbs, and Abdon in like manner;

75 na Hukoku, na Rehobu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

Hucac also and its suburbs, and Rohol with its suburbs.

76 Na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Nafitali makĩheo Kedeshi kũu Galili, na Hamoni, na Kiriathaimu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

And out of the tribe of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee and its suburbs, Hamon with its suburbs, and Cariathaim, and its suburbs.

77 Amerari (Alawii arĩa angĩ) maagaĩirwo matũũra maya: Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Zebuluni makĩheo Jokineamu, na Karita, na Rimono, na Taboru, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

And to the sons of Merari that remained: out of the tribe of Zabulon, Remmono and its suburbs, and Thabor with its suburbs.

78 kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Rubeni mũrĩmo wa Jorodani mwena wa irathĩro wa Jeriko, makĩheo Bezeri werũ-inĩ, na Jahaza,

Beyond the Jordan also over against Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Ruben, Bosor in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jassa with its suburbs;

79 na Kedemothu, na Mefaathu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

Cademoth also and its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

80 na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Gadi makĩheo Ramothu o kũu Gileadi, na Mahanaimu,

Moreover also out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad and its suburbs, and Manaim with its suburbs;

81 na Heshiboni, na Jazeri, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

Hesebon also with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
