Richter 6

1 Die Kinder Israel taten, was böse war vor dem HERRN; da gab sie der HERR in die Hand der Midianiter, sieben Jahre lang.

Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.

2 Und als die Hand der Midianiter zu stark ward über Israel, machten die Kinder Israel zum Schutz vor den Midianitern Schlupfwinkel in den Bergen, Höhlen und Burgen.

And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.

3 Und es geschah, wenn Israel etwas gesät hatte, so kamen die Midianiter und Amalekiter und die Morgenländer wider sie herauf

And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;

4 und lagerten sich wider sie und verderbten das Gewächs des Landes bis hin gen Gaza und ließen keine Lebensmittel übrig in Israel, auch keine Schafe, Ochsen und Esel;

and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.

5 denn sie kamen samt ihrem Vieh und ihren Zelten herauf wie eine große Menge Heuschrecken, so daß weder sie noch ihre Kamele zu zählen waren, und fielen ins Land ein, um es zu verheeren.

For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.

6 Also wurde Israel durch die Midianiter sehr geschwächt. Da schrieen die Kinder Israel zum HERRN.

And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.

7 Als aber die Kinder Israel um der Midianiter willen zum HERRN schrieen,

And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,

8 sandte der HERR einen Propheten zu den Kindern Israel, der sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten geführt und aus dem Diensthause gebracht

a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,

9 und habe euch errettet von der Ägypter Hand und von der Hand aller derer, die euch drängten, und ich habe dieselben vor euch her ausgestoßen und euch ihr Land gegeben; und ich sprach zu euch:

and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;

10 Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott; verehret die Götter der Amoriter nicht, in deren Lande ihr wohnt! Aber ihr habt meiner Stimme nicht gehorcht.

and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.

11 Und der Engel des HERRN kam und setzte sich unter eine Eiche zu Ophra, die gehörte Joas, dem Abiesriter, und sein Sohn Gideon drosch Weizen in der Kelter, um ihn vor den Midianitern in Sicherheit zu bringen.

Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,

12 Da erschien ihm der Engel des HERRN und sprach zu ihm: Der HERR ist mit dir, du streitbarer Held!

that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.

13 Gideon aber sprach zu ihm: Ach, mein Herr, wenn der HERR mit uns ist, warum ist uns denn solches alles widerfahren? Und wo sind alle seine Wunder, von denen uns unsre Väter erzählten, indem sie sprachen: Hat der HERR uns nicht aus Ägypten geführt? Nun aber hat uns der HERR verlassen und in die Hand der Midianiter gegeben!

And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.

14 Der HERR aber wandte sich zu ihm und sprach: Gehe hin in dieser deiner Kraft, du sollst Israel erretten aus der Midianiter Hand! Habe Ich dich nicht gesandt?

And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.

15 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Ach, mein Herr, womit soll ich Israel erretten? Siehe, mein Geschlecht ist das geringste in Manasse, und ich bin der Kleinste in meines Vaters Hause!

Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.

16 Der HERR aber sprach zu ihm: Weil Ich mit dir sein will, wirst du die Midianiter schlagen wie einen einzigen Mann!

And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.

17 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Habe ich denn Gnade vor dir gefunden, so gib mir ein Zeichen, daß du es bist, der mit mir redet.

And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;

18 Weiche doch nicht von hier, bis ich wieder zu dir komme und mein Speisopfer bringe und es dir vorsetze! Er sprach: Ich will bleiben, bis du wiederkommst!

go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.

19 Und Gideon ging hin und rüstete ein Ziegenböcklein zu und ungesäuertes Brot von einem Epha Mehl, legte das Fleisch in einen Korb und tat die Brühe in eine Topf und brachte es zu ihm heraus unter die Eiche und legte es ihm vor.

And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.

20 Aber der Engel Gottes sprach zu ihm: Nimm das Fleisch und das ungesäuerte Brot und lege es auf den Felsen, der hier ist, und gieß die Brühe darüber! Und er tat also.

To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,

21 Da streckte der Engel des HERRN die Spitze des Stabes aus, den er in der Hand hatte, und berührte damit das Fleisch und das ungesäuerte Brot. Da ging Feuer auf von dem Fels und verzehrte das Fleisch und das Ungesäuerte. Und der Engel des HERRN verschwand vor seinen Augen.

the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.

22 Als nun Gideon sah, daß es der Engel des HERRN war, sprach er: Wehe, mein Herr, HERR! Habe ich also den Engel des HERRN von Angesicht zu Angesicht gesehen?

And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.

23 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Friede sei mit dir! Fürchte dich nicht, du wirst nicht sterben!

And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.

24 Da baute Gideon dem HERRN daselbst einen Altar und hieß ihn: Der HERR ist Friede; der steht noch bis auf den heutigen Tag zu Ophra der Abiesriter.

Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,

25 Und in jener Nacht sprach der HERR zu ihm: Nimm den Farren, den Stier, der deinem Vater gehört, und [zwar] den zweiten Farren, der siebenjährig ist, und zerbrich den Altar Baals, der deinem Vater gehört, und haue die Astarte um, die dabei ist,

Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;

26 und baue dem HERRN, deinem Gott, oben auf der Höhe dieses Felsens durch Aufschichtung einen Altar; und nimm den zweiten Farren und opfere ein Brandopfer mit dem Holz der Astarte, die du umhauen wirst.

and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.

27 Da nahm Gideon zehn Männer aus seinen Knechten und tat, wie der HERR ihm gesagt hatte; weil er sich aber fürchtete, solches bei Tag zu tun, vor seines Vaters Hause und vor den Leuten der Stadt, tat er es bei Nacht.

Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.

28 Als nun die Leute der Stadt am Morgen früh aufstanden, siehe, da war der Altar Baals zerbrochen und die Astarte dabei umgehauen, und der zweite Farre war ein Brandopfer auf dem neuerbauten Altar.

And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.

29 Da sprachen sie zueinander: Wer hat das getan? Und als sie forschten und nachfragten, ward gesagt: Gideon, der Sohn des Joas, hat es getan!

And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.

30 Da sprachen die Leute der Stadt zu Joas: Gib deinen Sohn heraus, er muß sterben, weil er den Altar Baals zerbrochen und die Astarte daneben umgehauen hat.

And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.

31 Joas aber sprach zu allen, die gegen ihn aufstanden: Wollt ihr für Baal hadern? Wollt ihr in erretten? Wer für ihn hadert, der soll bis morgen sterben! Ist er Gott, so räche er sich selbst, daß sein Altar zerbrochen ist!

To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.

32 Von dem Tage an hieß man ihn Jerub-Baal! indem man sprach: Es hadere Baal mit ihm, weil er seinen Altar zerbrochen hat!

Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.

33 Als nun die Midianiter und die Amalekiter und die Morgenländer sich vereinigt hatten und herübergezogen waren und sich in der Ebene Jesreel lagerten,

Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.

34 da rüstete der Geist des HERRN den Gideon aus; und er ließ die Posaune blasen und rief dem Hause Abieser, daß sie ihm nachfolgten;

Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.

35 und er sandte Botschaft in ganz Manasse, denen rief er auch, daß sie ihm nachfolgen sollten; und er sandte Botschaft nach Asser und Sebulon und Naphtali; die zogen ihnen auch entgegen.

And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.

36 Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Willst du Israel durch meine Hand retten, wie du gesagt hast,

And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,

37 siehe, so will ich ein Schaffell auf die Tenne legen; wird der Tau nur auf dem Fell sein, der ganze Boden ringsum aber trocken bleiben, so werde ich merken, daß du Israel durch meine Hand erretten wirst, wie du gesagt hast.

Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.

38 Und es geschah also; denn als er am andren Morgen früh aufstand und das Fell ausdrückte, da konnte er Tau aus dem Fell pressen, eine ganze Schale voll.

And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;

39 Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Dein Zorn entbrenne nicht wider mich, daß ich noch einmal rede; ich will es nur noch einmal versuchen mit dem Fell: Das Fell allein möge trocken bleiben und Tau liegen auf dem ganzen übrigen Boden!

and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.

40 Und Gott tat also in jener Nacht, allein das Fell blieb trocken, und Tau lag auf dem ganzen übrigen Boden.

And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
