Richter 15
1 Es begab sich aber nach einiger Zeit in den Tagen der Weizenernte, daß Simson sein Weib mit einem Ziegenböcklein besuchte. Als er aber sagte: Ich will zu meinem Weibe in die Kammer gehen, wollte ihr Vater ihn nicht hineinlassen.
But within a while after, in the time of wheate haruest, Samson visited his wife with a kid, saying, I wil go in to my wife into the chamber: but her father would not suffer him to goe in.
2 Denn ihr Vater sprach: Ich dachte, du wärest ihr gram geworden, da habe ich sie deinem Gefährten gegeben! Ist nicht ihre jüngere Schwester schöner als sie? Die soll dein sein statt jener!
And her father sayde, I thought that thou hadst hated her: therefore gaue I her to thy companion. Is not her yonger sister fayrer then shee? take her, I pray thee, in stead of the other.
3 Da sprach Simson zu ihnen: Diesmal bin ich unschuldig, wenn ich den Philistern Übles tue!
Then Samson saide vnto them, Nowe am I more blamelesse then the Philistims: therefore will I doe them displeasure.
4 Und Simson ging hin und fing dreihundert Füchse und nahm Fackeln, kehrte je einen Schwanz gegen den andern und tat je eine Fackel zwischen zwei Schwänze,
And Samson went out, and tooke three hundreth foxes, and tooke firebrands, and turned them taile to taile, and put a firebrand in ye middes betweene two tailes.
5 zündete dieselben mit Feuer an und ließ sie unter das Korn der Philister laufen und zündete also die Garben an samt dem stehenden Korn und den Olivengärten.
And when he had set the brandes on fire, he sent them out into the standing corne of the Philistims, and burnt vp both the rickes and the standing corne with the vineyardes and oliues.
6 Da sprachen die Philister: Wer hat das getan? Da sagte man: Simson, der Tochtermann des Timniters, weil er ihm sein Weib genommen und sie seinem Gefährten gegeben hat! Da zogen die Philister hinauf und verbrannten sie samt ihrem Vater mit Feuer.
Then the Philistims sayde, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson the sonne in law of the Timnite, because hee had taken his wife, and giuen her to his companion. Then the Philistims came vp and burnt her and her father with fire.
7 Simson aber sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ihr solches tut, so will ich nicht eher aufhören, als bis ich an euch Rache genommen habe!
And Samson saide vnto them, Though yee haue done this, yet wil I be auenged of you, and then I wil cease.
8 Und er zerschlug ihnen Schenkel und Hüften mit gewaltigen Schlägen. Dann stieg er hinab und blieb in der Felsenkluft zu Etam.
So hee smote them hippe and thigh with a mightie plague: then hee went and dwelt in the top of the rocke Etam.
9 Da zogen die Philister hinauf und lagerten sich in Juda und ließen sich nieder zu Lechi.
Then the Philistims came vp, and pitched in Iudah, and were spred abroad in Lehi.
10 Aber die Männer von Juda sprachen: Warum seid ihr wider uns heraufgezogen? Sie antworteten: Wir sind heraufgekommen, Simson zu binden, um ihm zu tun, wie er uns getan hat!
And the men of Iudah sayde, Why are yee come vp vnto vs? And they answered, To binde Samson are we come vp, and to do to him as hee hath done to vs.
11 Da zogen dreitausend Mann von Juda hinab zur Felsenkluft von Etam und sprachen zu Simson: Weißt du nicht, daß die Philister über uns Herrschen? Warum hast du uns denn das getan? Er sprach zu ihnen: Wie sie mir getan haben, so habe ich ihnen getan.
Then three thousande men of Iudah went to the top of the rocke Etam, and sayde to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistims are rulers ouer vs? Wherefore then hast thou done thus vnto vs? And he answered them, As they did vnto me, so haue I done vnto them.
12 Sie sprachen zu ihm: Wir sind herabgekommen, um dich zu binden und in die Hand der Philister zu geben! Simson sprach zu ihnen: So schwört mir, daß ihr mich nicht töten wollt!
Againe they sayd vnto him, Wee are come to binde thee, and to deliuer thee into the hande of the Philistims. And Samson sayde vnto them, Sweare vnto me, that yee will not fall vpon me your selues.
13 Sie antworteten ihm: Nein! wir wollen dich nur binden und in ihre Hand geben und wollen dich nicht töten! Und sie banden ihn mit zwei neuen Stricken und führten ihn von der Kluft herauf.
And they answered him, saying, No, but we will bynde thee and deliuer thee vnto their hande, but we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two newe cordes, and brought him from the rocke.
14 Als er nun nach Lechi kam, jauchzten ihm die Philister entgegen. Da kam der Geist des HERRN über ihn; und die Stricke an seinen Armen wurden wie Fäden, die das Feuer versengt hat, so daß die Bande von seinen Händen fielen.
When hee came to Lehi, the Philistims shouted against him, and the Spirite of the Lord came vpon him, and the cordes that were vpon his armes, became as flaxe that was burnt with fire: for the bandes loosed from his handes.
15 Und er fand einen frischen Eselskinnbacken; da streckte er seine Hand aus und nahm ihn und erschlug damit tausend Mann.
And he found a new iawebone of an asse, and put forth his hand, and caught it, and slewe a thousand men therewith.
16 Und Simson sprach: «Mit dem Eselskinnbacken färbte ich sie rot, mit dem Eselskinnbacken schlug ich tausend Mann tot!»
Then Samson sayd, With the iaw of an asse are heapes vpon heapes: with the iawe of an asse haue I slaine a thousand men.
17 Und als er diesen Ausspruch getan, warf er den Kinnbacken aus seiner Hand und hieß jenen Ort Ramat-Lechi.
And when he had left speaking, hee cast away the iawebone out of his hande, and called that place, Ramath-Lehi.
18 Da ihn aber sehr dürstete, rief er den HERRN an und sprach: Du hast durch die Hand deines Knechtes dieses große Heil gegeben; soll ich nun aber vor Durst sterben und in die Hand der Unbeschnittenen fallen?
And he was sore a thirst, and called on the Lord, and sayde, Thou hast giuen this great deliuerance into the hand of thy seruaunt: and nowe shall I dye for thirst, and fall into the handes of the vncircumcised?
19 Da spaltete Gott die Höhlung, die bei Lechi ist, so daß Wasser herausfloß; und als er trank, kehrte sein Geist wieder, und er lebte auf. Darum heißt man sie noch heute «Quelle des Anrufers»; sie ist bei Lechi.
Then God brake the cheeke tooth, that was in the iawe, and water came thereout: and when he had drunke, his Spirit came againe, and he was reuiued: wherefore the name therof is called, Enhakkore, which is in Lehi vnto this day.
20 Und er richtete Israel zur Zeit der Philister zwanzig Jahre lang.
And hee iudged Israel in the dayes of the Philistims twentie yeeres.
