Jeremia 45

1 (Dies ist) das Wort, das der Prophet Jeremia an Baruch, den Sohn Nerijas richtete, als dieser im vierten Regierungsjahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, die betreffenden Worte so, wie Jeremia sie ihm vorsagte, in ein Buch niedergeschrieben hatte; das Wort lautete:

This is the word that Jeremiah the prophet told Baruch son of Neriah. This happened when he wrote in a scroll these words at Jeremiah's dictation—this was in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, and he said,

2 »So hat der HERR, der Gott Israels, in bezug auf dich, Baruch, gesprochen:

“Yahweh, God of Israel, says this to you, Baruch:

3 ›Du klagst: O wehe mir! Der HERR fügt noch Kummer zu meinem Schmerz hinzu! Müde bin ich von allem Seufzen und finde keine Ruhe!‹

You have said, 'Woe is me, for Yahweh has added agony to my pain. My groaning has wearied me; I find no rest.'

4 Sage zu ihm: ›So hat der HERR gesprochen: Wisse wohl: was ich selbst gebaut habe, das breche ich wieder ab, und was ich gepflanzt habe, das reiße ich wieder aus [und zwar betrifft dies die ganze Erde];

This is what you must say to him: 'Yahweh says this: See, what I built, I am now tearing down. What I planted, I am now pulling up—I will do this throughout all the earth.

5 und da willst du Großes für dich verlangen? Verlange es nicht! Denn bedenke wohl: ich verhänge Unglück über alles Fleisch‹, – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –; ›dir aber gewähre ich, mit dem Leben davonzukommen an allen Orten, wohin du dich begeben wirst!‹«

But are you hoping for great things for yourself? Do not hope for that. For see, disaster is coming on all humanity—this is Yahweh's declaration—but I am giving you your life as your plunder everywhere you will go.'”
