1 Dies sind die Nachkommen Esaus, das ist Edoms.
These are the generations of Esau which is called Edo.
2 Esau hatte seine Frauen aus den Kanaanäerinnen genommen, nämlich Ada, die Tochter des Hethiters Elon, und Oholibama, die Tochter Anas, die Enkelin des Hewiters Zibeon,
Esau toke his wyues of the doughters of Canaan Ada the doughter of Elon an Hethite and Ahalibama the doughter of Ana which Ana was the sonne of Zibeon an heuyte
3 und Basmath, die Tochter Ismaels, die Schwester Nebajoths.
And Basmath Ismaels doughter and sister of Nebaioth.
4 Ada gebar dann dem Esau den Eliphas, und Basmath gebar den Reguel;
And Ada bare vnto Esau Eliphas: and Basmath bare Reguel:
5 und Oholibama gebar Jehus und Jaglam und Korah. Dies sind die Söhne Esaus, die ihm im Lande Kanaan geboren wurden.

6 Dann nahm Esau seine Frauen, seine Söhne und Töchter, überhaupt alle Personen, die zu seinem Hause gehörten, dazu auch seinen Besitz, sowohl all sein Vieh als auch seine ganze Habe, die er im Lande Kanaan erworben hatte, und zog von seinem Bruder Jakob weg in ein anderes Land (Seir);
And Esau toke his wyues his sonnes and doughters and all the soules of his house: his goodes and all his catell and all his substance which he had gott in the land of Canaan ad went in to a countre awaye from his brother Iacob:
7 denn ihr Besitz war zu groß, als daß sie hätten beieinanderbleiben können, und das Land, in dem sie als Fremdlinge wohnten, reichte für sie wegen der Menge ihrer Herden nicht aus.
for their ryches was so moch that they coude not dwell together and that the land where in they were straungers coude not receaue the: because of their catell.
8 So ließ sich denn Esau im Gebirge Seir nieder: Esau, das ist Edom.
Thus dwelt Esau in moute Seir which Esau is called Edo
9 Dies sind die Nachkommen Esaus, des Stammvaters der Edomiter im Gebirge Seir.
These are the generations of Esau father of the Edomytes in mounte Seir
10 Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Esaus: Eliphas, der Sohn der Ada, der Frau Esaus, Reguel, der Sohn der Basmath, der Frau Esaus.
and these are the names of Esaus sonnes: Eliphas the sonne of Ada the wife of Esau ad Reguel the sonne of Basmath the wife of Esau also.
11 Die Söhne des Eliphas waren: Theman, Omar, Zepho, Gaetham und Kenas.
And the sonnes of Eliphas were. Theman Omar Zepho Gactham and kenas.
12 Thimna aber war ein Nebenweib des Eliphas, des Sohnes Esaus; die gebar dem Eliphas den Amalek. Dies sind die Nachkommen der Ada, der Frau Esaus.
And thimna was concubyne to Eliphas Esaus sonne and bare vnto Eliphas Amalech. And these be the sonnes of Ada Esaus wyfe.
13 Die Söhne Reguels aber sind diese: Nahath und Serah, Samma und Missa. Dies waren die Nachkommen der Basmath, der Frau Esaus.
And these are the sonnes of Reguel: Nahath Serah Samma and Misa: these were the sonnes of Basmath Esaus wyfe.
14 Und die Söhne von Esaus Frau Oholibama, der Tochter Anas, der Enkelin Zibeons, die sie dem Esau gebar, waren diese: Jehus, Jaglam und Korah.
And these were the sonnes of Ahalibama Esaus wyfe the doughter of Ana sonne of Zebeo which she bare vnto Esau: Ieus Iealam and Korah.
15 Dies sind die Gaufürsten unter den Nachkommen Esaus: Die Söhne des Eliphas, des erstgeborenen Sohnes Esaus, waren: der Häuptling Theman, der Häuptling Omar, der Häuptling Zepho, der Häuptling Kenas,

21 Dison, Ezer und Disan. Dies sind die Gaufürsten der Horiter, der Söhne Seirs, im Lande Edom.

22 Die Söhne Lotans waren: Hori und Hemam, und Lotans Schwester hieß Thimna.

23 Und dies sind die Söhne Sobals: Alwan und Manahath und Ebal, Sepho und Onam.

37 Nach Samlas Tode wurde Saul aus Rehoboth am Euphratstrom König an seiner Statt.

38 Nach Sauls Tode wurde König an seiner Statt Baal-Hanan, der Sohn Achbors.
When Saul was dead Baalhanan the sonne of Achbor reigned in his steade.
39 Als Baal-Hanan, der Sohn Achbors, starb, wurde König an seiner Statt Hadar, dessen Hauptstadt Pagu hieß; seine Frau hieß Mehetabeel und war die Tochter Matreds, die Enkelin Mesahabs.
