Psalm 119
1 Wohl denen, die ohne Tadel leben, die im Gesetz des HERRN wandeln!
ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Wohl denen, die seine Zeugnisse halten, die ihn von ganzem Herzen suchen!
Blessed are they who search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart.
3 Denn welche auf seinen Wegen wandeln, die tun kein Übel.
For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways.
4 Du hast geboten, fleißig zu halten deine Befehle.
Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently.
5 Oh daß mein Leben deine Rechte mit ganzem Ernst hielte!
O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications.
6 Wenn ich schaue allein auf deine Gebote, so werde ich nicht zu Schanden.
Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments.
7 Ich danke dir von Herzen, daß du mich lehrst die Rechte deiner Gerechtigkeit.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice.
8 Deine Rechte will ich halten; verlaß mich nimmermehr.
I will keep thy justifications: O! do not thou utterly forsake me.
9 Wie wird ein Jüngling seinen Weg unsträflich gehen? Wenn er sich hält nach deinen Worten.
BETH. By what doth a young man correct his way? by observing thy words.
10 Ich suche dich von ganzem Herzen; laß mich nicht abirren von deinen Geboten.
With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments.
11 Ich behalte dein Wort in meinem Herzen, auf daß ich nicht wieder dich sündige.
Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.
12 Gelobt seist du, HERR! Lehre mich deine Rechte!
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications.
13 Ich will mit meinen Lippen erzählen alle Rechte deines Mundes.
With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 Ich freue mich des Weges deiner Zeugnisse wie über allerlei Reichtum.
I have been delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches.
15 Ich rede von dem, was du befohlen hast, und schaue auf deine Wege.
I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways.
16 Ich habe Lust zu deinen Rechten und vergesse deiner Worte nicht.
I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words.
17 Tue wohl deinem Knecht, daß ich lebe und dein Wort halte.
GIMEL. Give bountifully to thy servant, enliven me: and I shall keep thy words.
18 Öffne mir die Augen, daß ich sehe die Wunder an deinem Gesetz.
Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.
19 Ich bin ein Gast auf Erden; verbirg deine Gebote nicht vor mir.
I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 Meine Seele ist zermalmt vor Verlangen nach deinen Rechten allezeit.
My soul hath coveted to long for thy justifications, at all times.
21 Du schiltst die Stolzen; verflucht sind, die von deinen Geboten abirren.
Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments.
22 Wende von mir Schmach und Verachtung; denn ich halte deine Zeugnisse.
Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.
23 Es sitzen auch die Fürsten und reden wider mich; aber dein Knecht redet von deinen Rechten.
For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.
24 Ich habe Lust zu deinen Zeugnissen; die sind meine Ratsleute.
For thy testimonies are my (meditation) and thy justifications my counsel.
25 Meine Seele liegt im Staube; erquicke mich nach deinem Wort.
DALETH. My soul hath cleaved to the pavement: quicken thou me according to thy word.
26 Ich erzähle meine Wege, und du erhörst mich; lehre mich deine Rechte.
I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me: teach me thy justifications.
27 Unterweise mich den Weg deiner Befehle, so will ich reden von deinen Wundern.
Make me to understand the way of thy justifications: and I shall be exercised in thy wondrous works.
28 Ich gräme mich, daß mir das Herz verschmachtet; stärke mich nach deinem Wort.
My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words.
29 Wende von mir den falschen Weg und gönne mir dein Gesetz.
Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me.
30 Ich habe den Weg der Wahrheit erwählt; deine Rechte habe ich vor mich gestellt.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten.
31 Ich hange an deinen Zeugnissen; HERR, laß mich nicht zu Schanden werden!
I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.
32 Wenn du mein Herz tröstest, so laufe ich den Weg deiner Gebote.
I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.
33 Zeige mir, HERR, den Weg deiner Rechte, daß ich sie bewahre bis ans Ende.
HE. Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it.
34 Unterweise mich, daß ich bewahre dein Gesetz und halte es von ganzem Herzen.
Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart.
35 Führe mich auf dem Steige deiner Gebote; denn ich habe Lust dazu.
Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired.
36 Neige mein Herz zu deinen Zeugnissen, und nicht zum Geiz.
Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness.
37 Wende meine Augen ab, daß sie nicht sehen nach unnützer Lehre; sondern erquicke mich auf deinem Wege.
Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way.
38 Laß deinen Knecht dein Gebot fest für dein Wort halten, daß ich mich nicht fürchte.
Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear.
39 Wende von mir die Schmach, die ich scheue; denn deine Rechte sind lieblich.
Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful.
40 Siehe, ich begehre deiner Befehle; erquicke mich mit deiner Gerechtigkeit.
Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice.
41 HERR, laß mir deine Gnade widerfahren, deine Hilfe nach deinem Wort,
VAU. Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word.
42 daß ich antworten möge meinem Lästerer; denn ich verlasse mich auf dein Wort.
So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words.
43 Und nimm ja nicht von meinem Munde das Wort der Wahrheit; denn ich hoffe auf deine Rechte.
And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words have I hoped exceedingly.
44 Ich will dein Gesetz halten allewege, immer und ewiglich.
So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever.
45 Und ich wandle fröhlich; denn ich suche deine Befehle.
And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments.
46 Ich rede von deinen Zeugnissen vor Königen und schäme mich nicht
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed.
47 und habe Lust an deinen Geboten, und sie sind mir lieb,
I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.
48 und hebe meine Hände auf zu deinen Geboten, die mir lieb sind, und rede von deinen Rechten.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications.
49 Gedenke deinem Knechte an dein Wort, auf welches du mich lässest hoffen.
ZAIN. Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope.
50 Das ist mein Trost in meinem Elend; denn dein Wort erquickt mich.
This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.
51 Die Stolzen haben ihren Spott an mir; dennoch weiche ich nicht von deinem Gesetz.
The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.
52 HERR, wenn ich gedenke, wie du von der Welt her gerichtet hast, so werde ich getröstet.
I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted.
53 Ich bin entbrannt über die Gottlosen, die dein Gesetz verlassen.
A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Deine Rechte sind mein Lied in dem Hause meiner Wallfahrt.
Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage.
55 HERR, ich gedenke des Nachts an deinen Namen und halte dein Gesetz.
In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law.
56 Das ist mein Schatz, daß ich deine Befehle halte.
This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications.
57 Ich habe gesagt: “HERR, das soll mein Erbe sein, daß ich deine Worte halte.”
HETH. O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep the law.
58 Ich flehe vor deinem Angesicht von ganzem Herzen; sei mir gnädig nach deinem Wort.
I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word.
59 Ich betrachte meine Wege und kehre meine Füße zu deinen Zeugnissen.
I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
60 Ich eile und säume mich nicht, zu halten deine Gebote.
I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments.
61 Der Gottlosen Rotte beraubt mich; aber ich vergesse deines Gesetzes nicht.
The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
62 Zur Mitternacht stehe ich auf, dir zu danken für die Rechte deiner Gerechtigkeit.
I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification.
63 Ich halte mich zu denen, die dich fürchten und deine Befehle halten.
I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments.
64 HERR, die Erde ist voll deiner Güte; lehre mich deine Rechte.
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications.
65 Du tust Gutes deinem Knechte, HERR, nach deinem Wort.
TETH. Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.
66 Lehre mich heilsame Sitten und Erkenntnis; den ich glaube deinen Geboten.
Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Ehe ich gedemütigt ward, irrte ich; nun aber halte ich dein Wort.
Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word.
68 Du bist gütig und freundlich; lehre mich deine Rechte.
Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications.
69 Die Stolzen erdichten Lügen über mich; ich aber halte von ganzem Herzen deine Befehle.
The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart.
70 Ihr Herz ist dick wie Schmer; ich aber habe Lust an deinem Gesetz.
Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law.
71 Es ist mir lieb, daß du mich gedemütigt hast, daß ich deine Rechte lerne.
It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications.
72 Das Gesetz deines Mundes ist mir lieber denn viel tausend Stück Gold und Silber.
The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver.
73 Deine Hand hat mich gemacht und bereitet; unterweise mich, daß ich deine Gebote lerne.
JOD. Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments.
74 Die dich fürchten, sehen mich und freuen sich; denn ich hoffe auf dein Wort.
They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad: because I have greatly hoped in thy words.
75 HERR, ich weiß, daß deine Gerichte recht sind; du hast mich treulich gedemütigt.
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me.
76 Deine Gnade müsse mein Trost sein, wie du deinem Knecht zugesagt hast.
O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
77 Laß mir deine Barmherzigkeit widerfahren, daß ich lebe; denn ich habe Lust zu deinem Gesetz.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my (meditation)
78 Ach daß die Stolzen müßten zu Schanden werden, die mich mit Lügen niederdrücken! ich aber rede von deinen Befehlen.
Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments.
79 Ach daß sich müßten zu mir halten, die dich fürchten und deine Zeugnisse kennen!
Let them that fear thee turn to me and they that know thy testimonies.
80 Mein Herz bleibe rechtschaffen in deinen Rechten, daß ich nicht zu Schanden werde.
Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded.
81 Meine Seele verlangt nach deinem Heil; ich hoffe auf dein Wort.
CAPH. My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped.
82 Meine Augen sehnen sich nach deinem Wort und sagen: Wann tröstest du mich?
My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Denn ich bin wie ein Schlauch im Rauch; deiner Rechte vergesse ich nicht.
For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications.
84 Wie lange soll dein Knecht warten? Wann willst du Gericht halten über meine Verfolger?
How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
85 Die Stolzen graben ihre Gruben, sie, die nicht sind nach deinem Gesetz.
The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law.
86 Deine Gebote sind eitel Wahrheit. Sie verfolgen mich mit Lügen; hilf mir.
All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me.
87 Sie haben mich schier umgebracht auf Erden; ich aber lasse deine Befehle nicht.
They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments.
88 Erquicke mich durch deine Gnade, daß ich halte die Zeugnisse deines Mundes.
Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
89 HERR, dein Wort bleibt ewiglich, soweit der Himmel ist;
LAMED. For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven.
90 deine Wahrheit währet für und für. Du hast die Erde zugerichtet, und sie bleibt stehen.
Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth.
91 Es bleibt täglich nach deinem Wort; denn es muß dir alles dienen.
By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee.
92 Wo dein Gesetz nicht mein Trost gewesen wäre, so wäre ich vergangen in meinem Elend.
Unless thy law had been my (meditation) I had then perhaps perished in my abjection.
93 Ich will deine Befehle nimmermehr vergessen; denn du erqickest mich damit.
Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life.
94 Ich bin dein, hilf mir! denn ich suche deine Befehle.
I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications.
95 Die Gottlosen lauern auf mich, daß sie mich umbringen; ich aber merke auf deine Zeugnisse.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies.
96 Ich habe alles Dinges ein Ende gesehen; aber dein Gebot währet.
I have seen an end to all persecution: thy commandment is exceeding broad.
97 Wie habe ich dein Gesetz so lieb! Täglich rede ich davon.
MEM. O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.
98 Du machst mich mit deinem Gebot weiser, als meine Feinde sind; denn es ist ewiglich mein Schatz.
Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me.
99 Ich bin gelehrter denn alle meine Lehrer; denn deine Zeugnisse sind meine Rede.
I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my (meditation)
100 Ich bin klüger denn die Alten; denn ich halte deine Befehle.
I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments.
101 Ich wehre meinem Fuß alle bösen Wege, daß ich dein Wort halte.
I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words.
102 Ich weiche nicht von deinen Rechten; denn du lehrest mich.
I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law.
103 Dein Wort ist meinem Munde süßer denn Honig.
How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth.
104 Dein Wort macht mich klug; darum hasse ich alle falschen Wege.
By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity.
105 Dein Wort ist meine Fußes Leuchte und ein Licht auf meinem Wege.
NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.
106 Ich schwöre und will's halten, daß ich die Rechte deiner Gerechtigkeit halten will.
I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice.
107 Ich bin sehr gedemütigt; HERR, erquicke mich nach deinem Wort!
I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word.
108 Laß dir gefallen, HERR das willige Opfer meines Mundes und lehre mich deine Rechte.
The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments.
109 Ich trage meine Seele immer in meinen Händen, und ich vergesse deines Gesetzes nicht.
My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law.
110 Die Gottlosen legen mir Stricke; ich aber irre nicht von deinen Befehlen.
Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts.
111 Deine Zeugnisse sind mein ewiges Erbe; denn sie sind meines Herzens Wonne.
I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are a joy to my heart.
112 Ich neige mein Herz, zu tun nach deinen Rechten immer und ewiglich.
I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward.
113 Ich hasse die Flattergeister und liebe dein Gesetz.
SAMECH. I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law.
114 Du bist mein Schirm und Schild; ich hoffe auf dein Wort.
Thou art my helper and my protector: and in thy word I have greatly hoped.
115 Weichet von mir, ihr Boshaften! Ich will halten die Gebote meines Gottes.
Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God.
116 Erhalte mich durch dein Wort, daß ich lebe; und laß mich nicht zu Schanden werden über meiner Hoffnung.
Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation.
117 Stärke mich, daß ich genese, so will ich stets meine Lust haben an deinen Rechten.
Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications.
118 Du zertrittst alle, die von deinen Rechten abirren; denn ihre Trügerei ist eitel Lüge.
Thou hast despised all them that fall off from thy judgments; for their thought is unjust.
119 Du wirfst alle Gottlosen auf Erden weg wie Schlacken; darum liebe ich deine Zeugnisse.
I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies.
120 Ich fürchte mich vor dir, daß mir die Haut schaudert, und entsetze mich vor deinen Gerichten.
Pierce thou my flesh with thy fear: for I am afraid of thy judgments.
121 Ich halte über Recht und Gerechtigkeit; übergib mich nicht denen, die mir wollen Gewalt tun.
AIN. I have done judgment and justice: give me not up to them that slander me.
122 Vertritt du deinen Knecht und tröste ihn; mögen mir die Stolzen nicht Gewalt tun.
Uphold thy servant unto good: let not the proud calumniate me.
123 Meine Augen sehnen sich nach deinem Heil und nach dem Wort deiner Gerechtigkeit.
My eyes have fainted after thy salvation: and for the word of thy justice.
124 Handle mit deinem Knecht nach deiner Gnade und lehre mich deine Rechte.
Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy: and teach me thy justifications.
125 Ich bin dein Knecht; unterweise mich, daß ich erkenne deine Zeugnisse.
I am thy servant: give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies.
126 Es ist Zeit, daß der HERR dazutue; sie haben dein Gesetz zerrissen.
It is time, O Lord, to do: they have dissipated thy law.
127 Darum liebe ich dein Gebot über Gold und über feines Gold.
Therefore have I loved thy commandments above gold and the topaz.
128 Darum halte ich stracks alle deine Befehle; ich hasse allen falschen Weg.
Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways.
129 Deine Zeugnisse sind wunderbar; darum hält sie meine Seele.
PHE. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them.
130 Wenn dein Wort offenbar wird, so erfreut es und macht klug die Einfältigen.
The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones.
131 Ich sperre meinen Mund auf und lechze nach deinen Geboten; denn mich verlangt darnach.
I opened my mouth and panted: because I longed for thy commandments.
132 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig, wie du pflegst zu tun denen, die deinen Namen lieben.
Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of them that love thy name.
133 Laß meinen Gang gewiß sein in deinem Wort und laß kein Unrecht über mich herrschen.
Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Erlöse mich von der Menschen Frevel, so will ich halten deine Befehle.
Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments.
135 Laß dein Antlitz leuchten über deinen Knecht und lehre mich deine Rechte.
Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications.
136 Meine Augen fließen mit Wasser, daß man dein Gesetz nicht hält.
My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law.
137 HERR, du bist gerecht, und dein Wort ist recht.
SADE. Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.
138 Du hast die Zeugnisse deiner Gerechtigkeit und die Wahrheit hart geboten.
Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly.
139 Ich habe mich schier zu Tode geeifert, daß meine Gegner deiner Worte vergessen.
My zeal hath made me pine away: because my enemies forgot thy words.
140 Dein Wort ist wohl geläutert, und dein Knecht hat es lieb.
Thy word is exceedingly refined: and thy servant hath loved it.
141 Ich bin gering und verachtet; ich vergesse aber nicht deiner Befehle.
I am very young and despised; but I forgot not thy justifications.
142 Deine Gerechtigkeit ist eine ewige Gerechtigkeit, und dein Gesetz ist Wahrheit.
Thy justice is justice for ever: and thy law is the truth.
143 Angst und Not haben mich getroffen; ich habe aber Lust an deinen Geboten.
Trouble and anguish have found me: thy commandments are my (meditation)
144 Die Gerechtigkeit deiner Zeugnisse ist ewig; unterweise mich, so lebe ich.
Thy testimonies are justice for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live.
145 Ich rufe von ganzem Herzen; erhöre mich, HERR, daß ich dein Rechte halte.
COPH. I cried with my whole heart, hear me, O Lord: I will seek thy justifications.
146 Ich rufe zu dir; hilf mir, daß ich deine Zeugnisse halte.
I cried unto thee, save me: that I may keep thy commandments.
147 Ich komme in der Frühe und schreie; auf dein Wort hoffe ich.
I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: because in thy words I very much hoped.
148 Ich wache auf, wenn's noch Nacht ist, zu sinnen über dein Wort.
My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: that I might meditate on thy words.
149 Höre meine Stimme nach deiner Gnade; HERR, erquicke mich nach deinen Rechten.
Hear thou my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy: and quicken me according to thy mercy.
150 Meine boshaften Verfolger nahen herzu und sind ferne von deinem Gesetz.
They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from the law.
151 HERR, du bist nahe, und deine Gebote sind eitel Wahrheit.
Thou art near, O Lord: and all thy ways are truth.
152 Längst weiß ich, daß du deine Zeugnisse für ewig gegründet hast.
I have known from the beginning concerning thy testimonies: that thou hast founded them for ever.
153 Siehe mein Elend und errette mich; hilf mir aus, denn ich vergesse deines Gesetzes nicht.
RES. See my humiliation and deliver me: for I have not forgotten the law.
154 Führe meine Sache und erlöse mich; erquicke mich durch dein Wort.
Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word’s sake.
155 Das Heil ist ferne von den Gottlosen; denn sie achten deine Rechte nicht.
Salvation is far from sinners; because they have not sought thy justifications.
156 HERR, deine Barmherzigkeit ist groß; erquicke mich nach deinen Rechten.
Many, O Lord, are thy mercies: quicken me according to thy judgment.
157 Meiner Verfolger und Widersacher sind viele; ich weiche aber nicht von deinen Zeugnissen.
Many are they that persecute me, and afflict me; but I have not declined from thy testimonies.
158 Ich sehe die Verächter, und es tut mir wehe, daß sie dein Wort nicht halten.
I beheld the transgressors, and I pined away; because they kept not thy word.
159 Siehe, ich liebe deine Befehle; HERR, erquicke mich nach deiner Gnade.
Behold I have loved thy commandments, O Lord; quicken me thou in thy mercy.

I have hated and abhorred iniquity; but I have loved thy law.
164 Ich lobe dich des Tages siebenmal um der Rechte willen deiner Gerechtigkeit.
Seven times a day I have given praise to thee, for the judgments of thy justice.
165 Großen Frieden haben, die dein Gesetz lieben; sie werden nicht straucheln.
Much peace have they that love thy law, and to them there is no stumbling block.
166 HERR, ich warte auf dein Heil und tue nach deinen Geboten.
I looked to thy salvation, O Lord: and I loved thy commandments.
167 Meine Seele hält deine Zeugnisse und liebt sie sehr.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies: and hath loved them exceedingly.
168 Ich halte deine Befehle und deine Zeugnisse; denn alle meine Wege sind vor dir.
I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies: because all my ways are in thy sight.
169 HERR, laß meine Klage vor dich kommen; unterweise mich nach deinem Wort.
TAU. Let my supplication, O Lord, come near in thy sight: give me understanding according to thy word.
170 Laß mein Flehen vor dich kommen; errette mich nach deinem Wort.
Let my request come in before thee; deliver thou me according to thy word.
171 Meine Lippen sollen loben, wenn du mich deine Rechte lehrest.
My lips shall utter a hymn, when thou shalt teach me thy justifications.
172 Meine Zunge soll ihr Gespräch haben von deinem Wort; denn alle deine Gebote sind recht.
My tongue shall pronounce thy word: because all thy commandments are justice.
173 Laß mir deine Hand beistehen; denn ich habe erwählt deine Befehle.
Let thy hand be with me to save me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
174 HERR, mich verlangt nach deinem Heil, und ich habe Lust an deinem Gesetz.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my (meditation)
175 Laß meine Seele leben, daß sie dich lobe, und deine Rechte mir helfen.
My soul shall live and shall praise thee: and thy judgments shall help me.
176 Ich bin ein verirrtes und verlorenes Schaf. Suche deinen Knecht; denn ich vergesse deiner Gebote nicht.
I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost: seek thy servant, because I have not forgotten thy commandments.
