Hosea 12
1 In Ephraim ist allenthalben Lüge wider mich und im Hause Israel falscher Gottesdienst. Aber Juda hält noch fest an Gott und am rechten heiligen Gottesdienst.
Ephraim is fed with the winde, and followeth after the East winde: hee increaseth daily lies and destruction, and they do make a couenant with Asshur, and oyle is caried into Egypt.
2 Ephraim aber weidet sich vom Winde und läuft dem Ostwinde nach und macht täglich der Abgötterei und des Schadens mehr; sie machen mit Assur einen Bund und bringen Balsam nach Ägypten.
The Lord hath also a controuersie with Iudah, and will visite Iaakob, according to his waies: according to his workes, wil he recompence him.
3 Darum wird der HERR die Sache Judas führen und Jakob heimsuchen nach seinem Wesen und ihm vergelten nach seinem Verdienst.
Hee tooke his brother by the heele in the wombe, and by his strength he had power with God,
4 Ja (sagen sie), er hat im Mutterleibe seinen Bruder untertreten und von allen Kräften mit Gott gekämpfet.
And had power ouer the Angel, and preuailed: he wept and praied vnto him: he founde him in Beth-el, and there he spake with vs.
5 Er kämpfte mit dem Engel und siegete, denn er weinete und bat ihn; daselbst hat er ihn ja zu Bethel funden und daselbst hat er mit uns geredet.
Yea, the Lord God of hostes, the Lord is himselfe his memoriall.
6 Aber der HERR ist der Gott Zebaoth; HERR ist sein Name.
Therefore turne thou to thy God: keepe mercy and iudgement, and hope still in thy God.
7 So bekehre dich nun zu deinem Gott, halte Barmherzigkeit und Recht und hoffe stets auf deinen Gott!
He is Canaan: the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loueth to oppresse.
8 Aber der Kaufmann hat eine falsche Waage in seiner Hand und betrügt gerne.
And Ephraim saide, Notwithstanding I am rich, I haue found me out riches in all my labours: they shall finde none iniquitie in me, that were wickednesse.
9 Denn Ephraim spricht: Ich bin reich, ich habe genug; man wird mir keine Missetat finden in aller meiner Arbeit, das Sünde sei.
Though I am the Lord thy God, from the land of Egypt, yet will I make thee to dwel in the tabernacles, as in the daies of the solemne feast.
10 Ich aber, der HERR, bin dein Gott aus Ägyptenland her, und der ich dich noch in den Hütten wohnen lasse, wie man zur Jahrzeit pfleget,
I haue also spoken by the Prophets, and I haue multiplied visions, and vsed similitudes by the ministerie of the Prophets.
11 und rede zu den Propheten; und ich bin's der so viel Weissagung gibt und durch die Propheten mich anzeige.
Is there iniquitie in Gilead? surely they are vanitie: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal, and their altars are as heapes in the furrowes of the field.
12 In Gilead ist's Abgötterei, und zu Gilgal opfern sie Ochsen vergeblich; und haben so viel Altäre, als Mandeln auf dem Felde stehen.
And Iaakob fled into the countrey of Aram, and Israel serued for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheepe.
13 Jakob mußte fliehen in das Land Syrien, und Israel mußte um ein Weib dienen, um ein Weib mußte er hüten.
And by a Prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a Prophet was he reserued.
14 Aber hernach führete der HERR Israel aus Ägypten durch einen Propheten und ließ sein hüten durch einen Propheten.
But Ephraim prouoked him with hie places: therefore shall his blood be powred vpon him, and his reproche shall his Lord reward him.
