Jesaja 19
1 Ausspruch über Ägypten: Jahwe fährt einher auf leichter Wolke und gelangt nach Ägypten: Da erbeben vor ihm die Götzen Ägyptens, und das Herz der Ägypter verzagt in ihrer Brust.
The burden of Egypt. “Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt within it.
2 Dann werde ich Ägypter gegen Ägypter aufstacheln, daß sie gegen einander kämpfen, Bruder gegen Bruder, Freund gegen Freund, Stadt gegen Stadt, Reich gegen Reich.
I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3 Und der Verstand, der in den Ägyptern ist, soll ausgeleert werden, und ihre Überlegung will ich zu nichte machen, daß sie die Götzen der Beschwörer befragen sollen, die Totengeister und Wahrsagegeister.
The spirit of the Egyptians will fail within them. I will destroy their counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.
4 Und ich will die Ägypter der Gewalt eines harten Herrn preisgeben, und ein strenger König soll über sie herrschen, lautet der Spruch des Herrn, Jahwes der Heerscharen.
I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, GOD of Hosts.
5 Die Wasser im Nil werden versiegen, und der Strom bis auf den Grund austrocknen.
The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and become dry.
6 Und die Nilarme werden stinken, die Kanäle Ägyptens seicht werden und austrocknen, Rohr und Schilf verwelken.
The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.
7 Die Auen am Nil, an der Mündung des Nils, und alle Saaten am Nil werden verdorren, vertrieben und verschwunden sein.
The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.
8 Und die Fischer werden seufzen, und trauern werden alle, die die Angel im Nil auswerfen, und die das Netz über die Wasserfläche breiten, werden sich abhärmen.
The fishermen will lament, and all those who fish in the Nile will mourn, and those who spread nets on the waters will languish.
9 Und ratlos werden die, welche gehechelten Flachs verarbeiten und Weißzeuge weben.
Moreover those who work in combed flax, and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded.
10 So werden Ägyptens Grundpfeiler zertrümmert; alle Lohnarbeiter sind seelenbetrübt.
The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.
11 Eitel Narren sind die Beamten in Zoan, die weisesten Berater des Pharao; ihre Ratschläge werden dumm. Wie könnt ihr zum Pharao sprechen: Ich stamme von den Weisen ab, von den Königen der Vorzeit!
The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings”?
12 Wo sind denn deine Weisen? Sie mögen dir doch verkündigen und erkennen, welche Absicht Jahwe der Heerscharen gegen Ägypten hegt!
Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what the LORD of Hosts has purposed concerning Egypt.
13 Als Narren stehen die Beamten von Zoan da! Getäuscht sind die Beamten von Noph! Ins Taumeln bringen Ägypten, die den Eckstein seiner Kasten bilden!
The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.
14 Jahwe hat in ihnen einen Geist des Schwindels bereitet; infolge dessen bringen sie Ägypten in all' seinem Thun zum Taumeln, gleichwie ein Trunkener in seinem Gespei umhertaumelt;
The LORD has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the middle of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
15 und leistet Ägypten kein Werk, das Kopf und Schwanz, Palmzweig und Binse vollbrächte.
Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.
16 An jenem Tage werden die Ägypter wie Weiber werden und voll Angst und Furcht vor der Hand Jahwes der Heerscharen sein, die er gegen sie schwingen wird.
In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the LORD of Hosts’s hand, which he shakes over them.
17 Und das Land Juda wird für die Ägypter ein Gegenstand des Schreckens sein. So oft man es gegen sie erwähnt, werden sie in Furcht geraten wegen der Absicht Jahwes der Heerscharen, die er gegen die Ägypter hegt.
The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of the LORD of Hosts, which he determines against it.
18 An jenem Tage werden fünf Städte im Land Ägypten die Sprache Kanaans reden und zu Jahwe der Heerscharen schwören. Eine von ihnen wird Stadt der Gerechtigkeit heißen.
In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of Hosts. One will be called “The city of destruction.”
19 An jenem Tage wird es einen Altar Jahwes mitten im Land Ägypten und einen Malstein Jahwes an seiner Grenze geben.
In that day, there will be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.
20 Das wird für Jahwe der Heerscharen als Zeichen und als Zeuge im Land Ägypten dienen: wenn sie vor Drängern zu Jahwe schreien, so wird er ihnen einen Heiland senden; der wird für sie streiten und sie erretten.
It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and he will send them a saviour and a defender, and he will deliver them.
21 Und Jahwe wird sich den Ägyptern offenbaren, und die Ägypter werden Jahwe jenes Tages erkennen und ihn mit Schlachtopfern und Speisopfern verehren und Jahwe Gelübde thun und sie auch einlösen.
The LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to the LORD, and will perform it.
22 So wird Jahwe die Ägypter schlagen und heilen; und werden sie sich zu Jahwe bekehren, so wird er sich von ihnen erbitten lassen und sie heilen.
The LORD will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to the LORD, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.
23 An jenem Tage wird eine gebahnte Straße von Ägypten nach Assyrien gehen, so daß die Assyrier Ägypten und die Ägypter Assyrien besuchen, und die Ägypter vereint mit den Assyriern Jahwe verehren.
In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
24 An jenem Tage wird sich Israel als der dritte zu Ägypten und zu Assyrien gesellen, als ein Segen inmitten der Erde,
In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing within the earth;
25 die Jahwe der Heerscharen gesegnet hat, indem er sprach: Gesegnet sei mein Volk Ägypten und Assur, das Werk meiner Hände, und mein Erbbesitz Israel!
because the LORD of Hosts has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
