Rut 2
1 Nun aber hatte Noëmi noch einen Verwandten ihres Mannes, der gar sehr vermöglich war, aus dem Geschlecht Elimeleks, mit Namen Boaz.
And Naomi hath an acquaintance of her husband's, a man mighty in wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name [is] Boaz.
2 Nun sprach die Moabitin Ruth zu Noëmi: "Ich will aufs Feld hinaus und Ähren lesen hinter dem, in dessen Augen ich wohl Gnade finde." Sie sprach zu ihr: "Geh, meine Tochter!"
And Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, 'Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, 'Go, my daughter.'
3 Da ging sie hin und sammelte dort auf dem Felde hinter Schnittern her. Da traf es sich zufällig, daß jenes Feld Eigentum des Boaz war, der aus Elimeleks Geschlecht stammte.
And she goeth and cometh and gathereth in a field after the reapers, and her chance happeneth — the portion of the field is Boaz's who [is] of the family of Elimelech.
4 Und da kam eben Boaz her, aus Bethlehem, und redete die Schnitter an: "Es sei der Herr mit euch!" Da sprachen sie zu ihm. "Es segne dich der Herr!"
And lo, Boaz hath come from Beth-Lehem, and saith to the reapers, 'Jehovah [is] with you;' and they say to him, 'Jehovah doth bless thee.'
5 Da fragte Boaz seinen Diener, der über seinen Schnittern stand: "Wem gehört dies Mädchen da?"
And Boaz saith to his young man who is set over the reapers, 'Whose [is] this young person?'
6 Da sprach der Diener, der über seinen Schnittern stand, und sagte: "Es ist ein Moabitermädchen, das aus dem Moabiterland mit Noëmi zurückgekehrt.
And the young man who is set over the reapers answereth and saith, 'A young woman — Moabitess — she [is], who came back with Naomi from the fields of Moab,
7 Sie fragte: 'Darf ich wohl lesen und bei den Garben hinter diesen Schnittern sammeln?' Dann kam sie her und ist jetzt auf den Beinen seit dem frühen Morgen schon und hat inzwischen nur ein Weilchen Ruhe sich gegönnt."
and she saith, Let me glean, I pray thee — and I have gathered among the sheaves after the reapers; and she cometh and remaineth since the morning and till now; she sat in the house a little.
8 Und Boaz sprach zu Ruth: "Hör, meine Tochter, höre wohl: Geh nicht auf eines anderen Feld zum Ährenlesen! Geh nicht von hier hinweg! Nein! Halte dich an meine Mädchen!
And Boaz saith unto Ruth, 'Hast thou not heard, my daughter? go not to glean in another field, and also, pass not over from this, and thus thou dost cleave to my young women:
9 Behalte nur im Auge das Feld, das sie abernten, und folge ihnen! Hab ich ja doch den Knechten den Befehl gegeben, sich keine Freiheiten mit dir je zu erlauben. Und hast du Durst, so geh hin zu den Gefäßen und trinke auch von dem, was meine Knechte schöpfen!"
thine eyes [are] on the field which they reap, and thou hast gone after them; have not I charged the young men not to touch thee? when thou art athirst then thou hast gone unto the vessels, and hast drunk from that which the young men draw.'
10 Da warf sie sich auf ihr Gesicht und neigte sich zu Boden und sprach zu ihm: "Warum erweisest du mir Gnade, mich anzublicken, da ich doch eine Fremde bin?"
And she falleth on her face, and boweth herself to the earth, and saith unto him, 'Wherefore have I found grace in thine eyes, to discern me, and I a stranger?'
11 Darauf gab Boaz ihr zur Antwort: "Man hatte mir erzählt, was du an deiner Schwiegermutter tatest nach deines Mannes Tod, daß du den Vater und die Mutter, dein Heimatland verließest und daß du dann zu einem Volke zogst, das du niemals vorher gekannt.
And Boaz answereth and saith to her, 'It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.
12 Der Herr vergelte dir dein Tun! Es wird dir voller Lohn zuteil vom Herrn, Israels Gott, von ihm, in dessen Fittichen Zuflucht zu suchen du gekommen bist."
Jehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'
13 Sie sprach: "Ich danke, Herr. Denn du hast mich getröstet und deiner Magd gar freundlich zugesprochen, obwohl ich selbst nicht einer deiner Mägde gleiche."
And she saith, 'Let me find grace in thine eyes, my lord, because thou hast comforted me, and because thou hast spoken unto the heart of thy maid-servant, and I — I am not as one of thy maid-servants.'
14 Und Boaz sprach zur Essenszeit zu ihr: "Komm her und iß hier von dem Brot und tauche deinen Bissen in den Essig!" Da setzte sie sich zu den Schnittern. Dann gab er ihr geröstet Korn in Fülle, so daß sie satt sich essen konnte und selbst noch übrigließ.
And Boaz saith to her, 'At meal-time come nigh hither, and thou hast eaten of the bread, and dipped thy morsel in the vinegar.' And she sitteth at the side of the reapers, and he reacheth to her roasted corn, and she eateth, and is satisfied, and leaveth.
15 Als sie zum Sammeln wieder sich erhob, sprach Boaz zu den Knechten: "Sie mag auch zwischen Garben lesen. Ihr dürft ihr nichts zuleide tun!
And she riseth to glean, and Boaz chargeth his young men, saying, 'Even between the sheaves she doth glean, and ye do not cause her to blush;
16 Zieht aus den ungebundenen Garben für sie noch einiges heraus und laßt es liegen, daß sie es auflesen kann! Ihr dürft sie niemals anfahren."
and also ye do surely cast to her of the handfuls — and have left, and she hath gleaned, and ye do not push against her.'
17 So las sie auf dem Felde bis zum Abend. Dann klopfte sie, was sie gesammelt hatte, aus. Da war es ein Scheffel Gerste.
And she gleaneth in the field till the evening, and beateth out that which she hath gleaned, and it is about an ephah of barley;
18 Sie hob es auf, betrat die Stadt und zeigte ihrer Schwiegermutter, was sie gesammelt hatte. Sie zog hervor und schenkte ihr, was sie nach ihrer Sättigung noch erübrigte.
and she taketh [it] up, and goeth into the city, and her mother-in-law seeth that which she hath gleaned, and she bringeth out and giveth to her that which she left from her satiety.
19 Und ihre Schwiegermutter sprach zu ihr: "Wie hast du heute gesammelt? Wo hast du heute geweilt? Gesegnet sei, der dich beachtet hat!" Da sagte sie ihrer Schwiegermutter, bei wem sie war, und sprach: "Der Mann, bei dem ich heute geweilt, heißt Boaz."
And her mother-in-law saith to her, 'Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? may he who is discerning thee be blessed.' And she declareth to her mother-in-law with whom she hath wrought, and saith, 'The name of the man with whom I have wrought to-day [is] Boaz.'
20 Darauf sprach Noëmi zu ihrer Schwiegertochter: "Er sei vom Herrn gesegnet, der sein Erbarmen nicht versagt den Lebenden und nicht den Toten!" Darauf sprach Noëmi zu ihr: "Der Mann steht uns auch nahe. Er ist mit uns gewissermaßen noch verwandt."
And Naomi saith to her daughter-in-law, 'Blessed [is] he of Jehovah who hath not forsaken His kindness with the living and with the dead;' and Naomi saith to her, 'The man is a relation of ours; he [is] of our redeemers.'
21 Da sprach die Moabitin Ruth zu ihrer Schwiegermutter: "Ich muß noch beifügen, daß er zu mir gesprochen: 'An meine Knechte halte dich, bis diese mit der ganzen Ernte fertig sind, die mir gehört!'"
And Ruth the Moabitess saith, 'Also he surely said unto me, Near the young people whom I have thou dost cleave till they have completed the whole of the harvest which I have.'
22 Da sagte Noëmi zu ihrer Schwiegertochter Ruth: "Meine Tochter! Gut ist es, wenn du mit seinen Mädchen hinausgehst. Dann kann dir niemand etwas Schlimmes tun auf eines anderen Feld."
And Naomi saith unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, 'Good, my daughter, that thou goest out with his young women, and they come not against thee in another field.'
23 So hielt sie sich beim Lesen zu des Boaz Mädchen, bis daß die Gerstenernte und die Weizenernte fertig waren. Alsdann blieb sie bei ihrer Schwiegermutter.
And she cleaveth to the young women of Boaz to glean, till the completion of the barley-harvest, and of the wheat-harvest, and she dwelleth with her mother-in-law.
