Hosea 11
1 "Als Israel noch jung gewesen, hab ich's liebgewonnen, und von Ägypten her schon nenne ich es meinen Sohn."
When Israel [was] a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2 Je mehr man aber ihnen rief, nur um so weiter wandten sie sich ab. Sie opferten den Baalen und räucherten den Götzenbildern.
[As] they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3 "Ich lehrte Ephraim das Gehen und nahm's auf meinen Arm. Doch sie erkannten nicht, daß ich sie heil bewahrte.
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4 Und wollten je die Leute ihnen wehe tun, umgab ich sie mit dem Gehege meiner Liebe: Ich war auf ihrer Seite, einem gleich, der denen wehrte, die sie auf die Wange schlagen wollten. Ich neigte mich ihm zu und gab ihm Nahrung."
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5 Nun muß es wieder nach Ägypterland zurück, und ein Assyrer wird sein König werden. Die Umkehr hat es ja verweigert.
He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
6 Eintrocknung kommt jetzt über seine Haut, vernichtet seine Gliedmaßen und zehrt an ihren Kräften.
And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour [them], because of their own counsels.
7 "Mein Volk, verwirrt, weil untreu gegen mich, es läßt sich nicht bewegen, will man es zur Rückkehr rufen.
And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt [him].
8 Was soll ich, Ephraim, dir tun, was über dich verhängen, Israel? Wie? Sollte ich dir so wie Adma tun, das Schicksal Seboims dich teilen lassen? Mein Herz dreht sich in mir; mein ganzes Mitleid ist erregt.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? [how] shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? [how] shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
9 Ich kann nicht meinen heißen Ingrimm in die Tat umsetzen. Ich kann nicht Ephraim wieder vertilgen. Ich bin ja Gott und nicht ein Mensch. In deiner Mitte weile ich als Heiliger: Ich komme nicht im Grimm."
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I [am] God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10 Dann ziehen sie dem Herren nach, wenn er mit LÖwenstimme brüllt, und brüllt er, alsdann eilen zitternd Söhne aus dem Westen her.
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11 "Sie eilen zitternd wie die Vögel aus Ägypten, wie Tauben aus dem Land Assyrien. Ich bringe sie in ihre Heimat wieder." Ein Spruch des Herrn.
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
12 "Doch jetzt umgibt mich Ephraim mit Lug, mit Trug das Haus von Israel." Doch Juda geht noch immerhin mit Gott und hält dem Heiligen die Treue.
Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
