5 Mose 30

1 "Kommen über dich alle diese Worte, der Segen und der Fluch, die ich dir vorgelegt, und nimmst du es zu Herzen unter all den Völkern, wohin dich der Herr, dein Gott, verstößt,

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither Jehovah thy God hath driven thee,

2 und bekehrst du dich samt deinen Kindern von ganzem Herzen und aus ganzer Seele zum Herrn, deinem Gott, und gehorchst du seiner Stimme in allem, was ich dir heute gebiete,

and shalt return unto Jehovah thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul;

3 dann wendet der Herr, dein Gott, dein Geschick, erbarmt sich deiner und sammelt dich aus allen Völkern, unter die dich der Herr, dein Gott, verstreut hat.

that then Jehovah thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither Jehovah thy God hath scattered thee.

4 Mögen deine Versprengten am Ende des Himmels sein, so sammelte dich der Herr, dein Gott, auch dort und holte dich von dort.

If [any of] thine outcasts be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will Jehovah thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

5 Und der Herr, dein Gott, brächte dich in das Land, das deine Väter besessen, und du wirst es besitzen. Er beglückte und mehrte dich reichlicher als deine Väter.

and Jehovah thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6 Der Herr, dein Gott, beschneidet dann dir und deinen Nachkommen das Herz, daß du den Herrn, deinen Gott, von ganzem Herzen und aus ganzer Seele liebest, um deines Lebens willen.

And Jehovah thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7 Und der Herr, dein Gott, legt all diese Flüche auf deine Feinde und Hasser, die dich gejagt.

And Jehovah thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, that persecuted thee.

8 Du aber gehorchst wieder der Stimme des Herrn, deines Gottes, und befolgst alle seine Gebote, die ich dir heute gebe.

And thou shalt return and obey the voice of Jehovah, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 Und der Herr, dein Gott, gibt dir Überfluß bei jedem Tun deiner Hand, bei der Frucht deines Leibes und bei dem Wurf deines Viehs und bei der Ernte deines Bodens. Denn dann hat der Herr wieder Freude an dir, wie er sich an deinen Vätern gefreut,

And Jehovah thy God will make thee plenteous in all the work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, for good: for Jehovah will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers;

10 wenn, du der Stimme des Herren, deines Gottes, gehorsam, seine Gebote und Satzungen beachtest, die in diesem Buch der Lehre aufgezeichnet sind, und dich von ganzem Herzen und aus ganzer Seele zum Herrn, deinem Gott, bekehrst.

if thou shalt obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thou turn unto Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul.

11 Denn dieses Gebot, das ich dir heute gebe, übersteigt nicht deine Kraft und ist nicht unerreichbar.

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off.

12 Nicht ist es im Himmel, daß du sprächest: 'Wer steigt für uns in den Himmel und holt es uns herab und kündet es uns, daß wir danach tun?'

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?

13 Auch ist es nicht jenseits des Meeres, daß du sprächest: 'Wer fährt uns über das Meer und holt es uns und kündet es uns, daß wir danach tun?'

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?

14 Nein! Sehr nahe ist dir das Wort in deinem Munde und in deinem Herzen, es zu tun.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 Siehe! Ich lege dir heute vor: das Leben und das Glück, den Tod und das Böse.

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 Wenn ich dir heute befehle, den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu lieben, auf seinen Wegen zu wandeln und seine Gebote, Gesetze und Gebräuche zu beachten, dann bleibst du leben und mehrst dich. Und der Herr, dein Gott, segnet dich in dem Lande, in das du ziehst, es zu besetzen.

in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

17 Wird aber dein Herz abtrünnig, bist du ungehorsam und läßt du dich verführen, dich vor anderen Göttern hinzuwerfen und ihnen zu dienen,

But if thy heart turn away, and thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 dann verkünde ich euch heute: Ihr geht zugrunde. Ihr lebt nicht lange auf dem Boden, zu dessen Besetzung du über den Jordan ziehst.

I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days in the land, whither thou passest over the Jordan to go in to possess it.

19 Ich nehme heute Himmel und Erde zu Zeugen gegen euch, daß ich dir Leben und Tod, Segen und Fluch vorlegte. So wähle das Leben, auf daß du lebest, du und deine Nachkommen,

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed;

20 wenn du den Herrn, deinen Gott, liebst, seiner Stimme gehorchst und ihm anhängst! Denn das ist dein Leben und dein langes Siedeln auf dem Boden, den ihnen zu geben der Herr deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob zugeschworen hat."

to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
