1 Parsawista baga ass gidida ayhudata hllaqappe issi Niqodimossa getetizaday assi dess.
Now there was a Pharisee called Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews,
2 Izi qamara Yesussakko yidi “astamare Xoossi izara dzade gidikofe atin hayta ne oothiza malalsiza malatata oothanas danda7izadeye dena. Hessa gish ne Xoossa achafe yida astamare gdidayysa nuu erosu” gidass.
who came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles which you do, unless God be with him.
3 Yesussaykka izas zaridi “ta nes tumu gays assi namantho yeletoonta agikko Xoossa kawoteth beynanas danda7ena” gidess.
Jesus answering, said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a man be born again, he can not discern the Reign of God.
4 Niqodimosaykka zaridi “histin assi cimidappe guye wandi namaantho yeletan danda7izee? Qassekka gede bee aye ul7on simi gelidi yeletanee?” gidi oychides.
Nicodemus replied, How can a grown man be born? Can he enter his mother's womb anew, and be born?
5 Yesussyka izas hizggidi zarides “ta nes tumu gays assi hathafenne Xillo Anappe yeletontaa dishe Xoossa kawoteth gelanass danda7ena.
Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a man be born of water and Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God.
6 Asappe yelettida asa. Ayanappe yeletdeye ayana.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit.
7 Hessa gish (inte nmma7antho yeletanas kooshes) ta nena gida gish malaletofa.
Wonder not, then, that I have said to you, You must be born again.
8 Carkkoy ba koyida baga carkess, ne carkoss gireth siyasa atin izi awappe yizakkonne awa bizakko erakka, ayanafe yelettidaykka hessa malla.”
The Spirit breathes where he pleases, and you hear the report of him, but know not whence he comes, or whither he goes; so is every one who is born of the spirit.
9 Niqodimossay “haysi wani hnana danda7ize?” gidi oychdess.
Nicodemus answered, How can these things be?
10 Yesussaykka izas “Isra7ele Astemare gidautada hessa ne eriki?
Jesus replied, Are you the teacher of Israel, and know not these things?
11 Ta nes tumu gays nuni nu erazaysa yotoss, nu be7idaysa markatos gido attin inte nu markateth ekekketta.
Most assuredly, I say to you, we speak what we know, and testify what we have seen; yet you receive not our testimony.
12 Ta intess hayssa ha biitta yo yotin amanonta ixikko sallo miish yotikko wosti inte wosti ammanane?
If you understood not, when I told you earthly things, how will you understand when I tell you heavenly things?
13 Saloppe dugge wopdhia asa naape attin pude saloo keziday haray onikka denna.
For none has ascended into heaven, but he who descended from heaven; the Son of Man, whose abode is heaven.
14 Bazoo biittan Musey shoshu dhoqqu histi kaqqidaysatho heesathokka asa nayy dhoqqan kaqistanas beses.
As Moses placed on high the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be placed on high;
15 Hessikka izan ammanizadeye wurikka medhina deyo demanasa gsaasa. (aiōnios g166)
that whosoever believes on him may not perish, but obtain eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
16 Xoossa na ammanizay wuri medhina deyo demanappe attin dhayonta mala Xoossi hayssa alameza daro siqida gish ba mixi issi na immides. (aiōnios g166)
for God has so loved the world, as to give his own begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him, may not perish, but obtain eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
17 Xoassay ba naza ha dugge alame kittday alame asay izan amanidi atinn izi alamme asa bolla firdanas gidena.
For God has sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world may be saved by him.
18 Iza amanizade bola pirdetena, iza amanonntadey gdikko Xoossa na isinezan amanonta gish benipekka pirdeti utides.
He who believes on him shall not be condemned; he who believes not, is already condemned, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 Pirdayyka hysamala po77oy ha alame yides shin asas oothoy iitta gdidagish asay po7oppe daro dumma doosides.
Now this is the ground of condemnation; that light has come into the world, and men have preferred the darkness to the light, because their deeds were evil.
20 Iita o7htzadeye wurikka poo7 dosena. izi o7thazza ita o7thooy pooncci kkazontamala izi ba huees poo77y dzzasa kezena.
For whosoever does evil, hates the light, and shuns it, lest his deeds should be detected.
21 Tuumu o7thzadey gdiiko po77y dizasa yees. izi po77y dizzasa yeza gasoy Xoossa azazzomalla izi o7thdda o7thooy qonncana maalla.”
But he who obeys the truth, comes to the light, that it may be manifest that his actions are agreeable to God.

John also was immersing in Enon, near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came thither, and were immersed.

Then they went to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with you near the Jordan, of whom you gave so great a character; he, too, immerses, and the people flock to him.

John answered, A man can have no power but what he derives from heaven.

The bridegroom is he who has the bride; but the friend of the bridegroom, who assists him, rejoices to hear the bridegroom's voice: this, my joy, therefore, is complete.

He who believes on the Son, has life eternal; he who rejects the Son, shall not see life: but the vengeance of God awaits him. (aiōnios g166)
