< Psaumes 87 >

1 Aux fils de Coré psaume de cantique.
The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.
2 Le Seigneur aime les portes
He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.
3 Des choses glorieuses ont été dites de toi, cité de Dieu.
[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.
4 Je me souviendrai de Rahab et de Babylone qui me connaissent. Voilà que des étrangers et Tyr, et un peuple d’Éthiopiens ont été là.
[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”
5 Est-ce qu’on ne dira pas de Sion: Un homme et un homme est né dans elle, et lui-même, le Très-Haut, l’a fondée?
And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”
6 Le Seigneur le racontera dans les écritures des peuples et des princes, de ceux qui furent dans elle.
Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.
7 Ceux qui habitent en toi ont la joie de tous ceux qui se livrent à l’allégresse.
They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
