Luc 7
1 Lorsqu’il eut fini de faire entendre toutes ces paroles au peuple, il entra dans Capharnaüm.
And whanne he hadde fulfillid alle hise wordis in to the eeris of the puple, he entride in to Cafarnaum.
2 Or un centurion avait un serviteur malade, qui se mourait, et qu’il aimait beaucoup.
But a seruaunt of a centurien, that was precious to hym, was sijk, and drawynge to the deeth.
3 Ayant entendu parler de Jésus, il lui envoya des anciens d’entre les Juifs, le priant de venir guérir son serviteur.
And whanne he hadde herd of Jhesu, he sente to hym the eldere men of Jewis, and preiede hym, that he wolde come, and heele his seruaunt.
4 Ceux-ci étant venus vers Jésus, le priaient avec grande instance, lui disant: Il mérite que vous fassiez cela pour lui;
And whanne thei camen to Jhesu, thei preieden hym bisili, and seiden to hym, For he is worthi, that thou graunte to hym this thing;
5 Car il aime notre nation, il nous a même bâti une synagogue.
for he loueth oure folk, and he bildide to vs a synagoge.
6 Jésus donc allait avec eux. Or comme il n’était plus loin de la maison, le centurion envoya de ses amis lui dire: Seigneur, ne vous donnez point tant de peine; car je ne suis pas digne que vous entriez sous mon toit;
And Jhesus wente with hem. And whanne he was not fer fro the hous, the centurien sente to hym freendis, and seide, Lord, nyle thou be trauelid, for Y am not worthi, that thou entre vnder my roof;
7 C’est pourquoi je ne me suis pas jugé digne de venir moi-même à vous: mais dites un mot, et mon serviteur sera guéri.
for which thing and Y demede not my silf worthi, that Y come to thee; but seie thou bi word, and my child schal be helid.
8 Car, moi qui suis un homme soumis à la puissance d’un autre, et ayant sous moi des soldats, je dis à celui-ci: Va, et il va; à un autre: Viens, et il vient; et à mon serviteur: Fais cela, et il le fait.
For Y am a man ordeyned vndur power, and haue knyytis vndur me; and Y seie to this, Go, and he goith, and to anothir, Come, and he cometh, and to my seruaunt, Do this thing, and he doith.
9 Ce qu’ayant entendu, Jésus fut dans l’admiration, et se tournant vers la foule qui le suivait, il dit: En vérité, je vous le dis, je n’ai pas trouvé en Israël même une si grande foi.
And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus wondride; and seide to the puple suynge hym, Treuli Y seie to you, nether in Israel Y foond so greet feith.
10 Revenus à la maison, ceux que le centurion avait envoyés trouvèrent le serviteur qui avait été malade, bien portant.
And thei that weren sent, turneden ayen home, and founden the seruaunt hool, which was sijk.
11 Il arriva qu’il s’en alla ensuite dans une ville appelée Naïm; et ses disciples l’accompagnaient ainsi qu’une foule nombreuse.
And it was don aftirward, Jhesus wente in to a citee, that is clepid Naym, and hise disciplis; and ful greet puple wente with hym.
12 Or comme il approchait de la porte de la ville, voilà qu’on emportait un mort, fils unique de sa mère; et celle-ci était veuve, et beaucoup de personnes de la ville l’accompagnaient.
And whanne he cam nyy to the yate of the citee, lo! the sone of a womman that hadde no mo children, was borun out deed; and this was a widowe; and myche puple of the citee with hir.
13 Lorsque le Seigneur l’eut vue, il fut touché de compassion pour elle et lui dit: Ne pleurez point.
And whanne the Lord Jhesu hadde seyn hir, he hadde reuthe on hir, and seide to hir, Nyle thou wepe.
14 Alors il s’approcha, toucha le cercueil (ceux qui le portaient s’arrêtèrent), et il dit: Jeune homme, je te le commande, lève-toi.
And he cam nyy, and touchide the beere; and thei that baren stoden. And he seide, Yonge man, Y seie to thee, rise vp.
15 Et celui qui était mort se mit sur son séant, et commença à parler; et Jésus le rendit à sa mère.
And he that was deed sat vp ayen, and bigan to speke; and he yaf hym to his modir.
16 Et tous furent saisis de crainte; et ils glorifiaient Dieu, disant: Un grand prophète s’est élevé parmi nous, et Dieu a visité son peuple.
And drede took alle men, and thei magnyfieden God, and seiden, For a grete profete is rysun among vs, and, For God hath visitid his puple.
17 Et le bruit s’en répandit dans toute la Judée et dans tout le pays d’alentour.
And this word wente out of hym in to al Judee, and in to al the cuntre aboute.
18 Cependant les disciples de Jean lui ayant rapporté toutes ces choses,
And Joones disciplis toolden hym of alle these thingis.
19 Il en appela deux, et les envoya vers Jésus, disant: Êtes-vous celui qui doit venir, ou est-ce un autre que nous attendons?
And Joon clepide tweyn of hise disciplis, and sente hem to Jhesu, and seide, Art thou he that is to come, or abiden we anothir?
20 Etant donc venus vers lui, ces hommes lui dirent: Jean-Baptiste nous a envoyés vers vous pour vous demander: Est-ce vous qui devez venir, ou est-ce un autre que nous attendons?
And whanne the men cam to hym, thei seiden, Joon Baptist sente vs to thee, and seide, Art thou he that is to come, or we abiden anothir?
21 (À cette heure même Jésus guérit un grand nombre de personnes affligées de maladies, de plaies et d’esprits malins, et rendit la vue à beaucoup d’aveugles.)
And in that our he heelide many men of her sijknessis, and woundis, and yuel spiritis; and he yaf siyt to many blynde men.
22 Et répondant, il leur dit: Allez annoncera Jean ce que vous avez entendu et vu: que des aveugles voient, des boiteux marchent, des lépreux sont purifiés, des sourds entendent, des morts ressuscitent, des pauvres sont évangélisés:
And Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, Go ye ayen, and telle ye to Joon tho thingis that ye han herd and seyn; blynde men seyn, crokid men goen, mesels ben maad cleene, deef men heren, deed men risen ayen, pore men ben takun to prechyng of the gospel.
23 Et bienheureux est celui qui ne sera point scandalisé de moi.
And he that schal not be sclaundrid in me, is blessid.
24 Et lorsque les envoyés de Jean furent partis, il commença à parler ainsi de Jean au peuple: Qu’êtes-vous allés voir au désert? un roseau agité par le vent?
And whanne the messangeris of Joon weren go forth, he bigan to seie of Joon to the puple,
25 Mais encore qu’êtes-vous allés voir? un homme vêtu avec mollesse? Or ceux qui portent des vêtements précieux et vivent dans les délices habitent les maisons des rois.
What wenten ye out in to desert to se? a reed waggid with the wynd?
26 Qu’êtes-vous donc allés voir? un prophète? Oui, je vous le dis, et plus qu’un prophète:
But what wenten ye out to se? a man clothid with softe clothis? Lo! thei that ben in precious cloth and in delicis, ben in kyngis housis. But what wenten ye out to se? a profete? Yhe, Y seie to you, and more than a profete.
27 C’est celui dont il est écrit: Voici que j’envoie mon ange devant votre face, pour préparer votre voie devant vous.
This is he, of whom it is writun, Lo! Y sende myn aungel bifor thi face, which schal make `thi weie redi bifor thee.
28 Car je vous le dis: Entre ceux qui sont nés des femmes, nul n’est plus grand prophète que Jean-Baptiste; mais le plus petit dans le royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui.
Certis Y seie to you, there is no man more prophete among children of wymmen, than is Joon; but he that is lesse in the kyngdom of heuenes, is more than he.
29 Et tout le peuple qui l’écoutait et les publicains reconnurent la justice de Dieu, s’étant fait baptiser du baptême de Jean.
And al the puple herynge, and pupplicans, that hadden be baptisid with baptym of Joon, iustifieden God;
30 Mais les pharisiens et les docteurs de la loi méprisèrent le dessein de Dieu sur eux, ne s’étant point fait baptiser par Jean.
but the Farisees and the wise men of the lawe, that weren not baptisid of hym, dispisiden the counsel of God ayens hem silf.
31 Le Seigneur dit encore: À qui donc comparerai-je les hommes de cette génération? et à qui sont-ils semblables?
And the Lord seide, Therfor to whom schal Y seie `men of this generacioun lijk, and to whom ben thei lijk?
32 Ils sont semblables à des enfants assis dans la place, se parlant l’un à l’autre, et disant: Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n’avez point dansé: nous avons entonné des chants lugubres, et vous n’avez point pleuré.
Thei ben lijk to children sittynge in chepyng, and spekynge togider, and seiynge, We han sungun to you with pipis, and ye han not daunsid; we han maad mornyng, and ye han not wept.
33 Car Jean est venu, ne mangeant point de pain, et ne buvant point de vin, et vous dites: Il a un démon en lui.
For Joon Baptist cam, nethir etynge breed, ne drynkynge wyne, and ye seyen, He hath a feend.
34 Le Fils de l’homme est venu, mangeant et buvant, et vous dites: C’est un homme de bonne chère, et qui aime le vin, ami des publicains et des pécheurs.
Mannus sone cam etynge and drynkynge, and ye seien, Lo! a man a deuourer, and drynkynge wyne, a frend of pupplicans and of synful men.
35 Mais la sagesse a été justifiée par tous ses enfants.
And wisdom is iustified of her sones.
36 Or un des pharisiens le pria de manger avec lui. Etant donc entré dans la maison du pharisien, il se mit à table.
But oon of the Farisees preiede Jhesu, that he schulde ete with hym. And he entride in to the hous of the Farise, and sat at the mete.
37 Et voilà qu’une femme connue dans la ville pour une pécheresse, ayant su qu’il était à table dans la maison du pharisien, apporta un vase d’albâtre plein de parfums:
And lo! a synful womman, that was in the citee, as sche knewe, that Jhesu sat at the mete in the hous of the Farisee, sche brouyte an alabaustre box of oynement;
38 Et se tenant par derrière à ses pieds, elle commença à les arroser de ses larmes; et les essuyant avec ses cheveux, elle les baisait et les oignait de parfums.
and sche stood bihynde bysidis hise feet, and bigan to moiste hise feet with teeris, and wipide with the heeris of hir heed, and kiste hise feet, and anoyntide with oynement.
39 Ce que voyant, le pharisien qui l’avait invité dit en lui-même: Si celui-ci était prophète, il saurait certainement qui est, et ce qu’est la femme qui le touche: il saurait que c’est une pécheresse.
And the Farise seynge, that hadde clepide hym, seide within hym silf, seiynge, If this were a prophete, he schulde wite, who and what maner womman it were that touchith hym, for sche is a synful womman.
40 Alors Jésus prenant la parole, lui dit: Simon, j’ai quelque chose à te dire. Il répondit: Maître, dites.
And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Symount, Y haue sumthing to seie to thee. And he seide, Maistir, seie thou.
41 Un créancier avait d eux débiteurs; l’un lui devait cinq cents deniers, et l’autre cinquante.
And he answeride, Twei dettouris weren to o lener; and oon auyt fyue hundrid pans, and `the other fifti;
42 Comme ils n’avaient pas de quoi payer, il leur remit la dette à tous deux. Lequel donc l’aime le plus?
but whanne thei hadden not wherof `thei schulden yeelde, he foryaf to bothe. Who thanne loueth hym more?
43 Simon répondit: Celui, je pense, à qui il a le plus remis. Jésus lui dit: Tu as bien jugé.
Symount answeride, and seide, Y gesse, that he to whom he foryaf more. And he answeride to hym, Thou hast demyd riytli.
44 Et se tournant vers la femme, il dit à Simon: Vois-tu cette femme? Je suis entré dans ta maison, et tu ne m’as point donné d’eau pour mes pieds; elle, au contraire, les a arrosés de ses larmes et les a essuyés avec ses cheveux.
And he turnede to the womman, and seide to Symount, Seest thou this womman? I entride into thin hous, thou yaf no watir to my feet; but this hath moistid my feet with teeris, and wipide with hir heeris.
45 Tu ne m’as point donné de baiser; mais elle, depuis qu’elle est entrée, n’a cessé de baiser mes pieds.
Thou hast not youun to me a cosse; but this, sithen sche entride, ceesside not to kisse my feet.
46 Tu n’as pas oint ma tête d’huile, mais elle a oint mes pieds de parfums.
Thou anoyntidist not myn heed with oile; but this anoyntide my feet with oynement.
47 C’est pourquoi je te le dis: Beaucoup de péchés lui sont remis, parce qu’elle a beaucoup aimé. Mais celui à qui on remet moins aime moins.
For the which thing Y seie to thee, many synnes ben foryouun to hir, for sche hath loued myche; and to whom is lesse foryouun, he loueth lesse.
48 Alors il dit à cette femme: Vos péchés vous sont remis.
And Jhesus seide to hir, Thi synnes ben foryouun to thee.
49 Ceux qui étaient à table avec lui commencèrent à dire en eux-mêmes: Qui est celui-ci, qui remet même les péchés?
And thei that saten to gider at the mete, bigunnen to seie with ynne hem silf, Who is this that foryyueth synnes.
50 Mais Jésus dit à la femme: Votre foi vous a sauvée; allez en paix.
But he seide to the womman, Thi feith hath maad thee saaf; go thou in pees.
