Genèse 45
1 Joseph ne pouvait plus se contenir, beaucoup de personnes se trouvant là présentes; c’est pourquoi il commanda que toutes sortissent dehors, et qu’aucun étranger ne fût présent à la reconnaissance mutuelle.
And Ioseph coude no longer refrayne before all them that stode aboute him but commaunded that they shuld goo all out from him and that there shuld be no man with him whyle he vttred him selfe vnto his brethern.
2 Alors il éleva la voix avec larmes; les Égyptiens l’entendirent et toute la maison de Pharaon.
And he wepte alowde so that the Egiptians and the house of Pharao herde it.
3 Et il dit à ses frères: Je suis Joseph: mon père vit-il encore? Ses frères ne pouvaient lui répondre, étant saisis d’une extrême frayeur.
And he sayde vnto his brethern: I am Ioseph: doth my father yet lyue? But his brethern coude not answere him for they were abasshed at his presence.
4 Mais lui avec douceur: Approchez-vous de moi, dit-il. Et quand ils se furent approchés bien près: Je suis, ajouta-t-il, Joseph votre frère, que vous avez vendu pour l’Égypte.
And Ioseph sayde vnto his brethern: come nere to me and they came nere. And he sayde: I am Ioseph youre brother whom ye sold in to Egipte.
5 Ne craignez point, et qu’il ne vous semble point pénible de m’avoir vendu en ces régions; car c’est pour votre salut que Dieu m’a envoyé avant vous en Égypte.
And now be not greued therwith nether let it seme a cruel thinge in youre eyes that ye solde me hither. For God dyd send me before you to saue lyfe.
6 Car il y a deux ans que la famine a commencé à être sur la terre, et il reste encore cinq ans pendant lesquels on ne pourra ni labourer ni moissonner.
For this is the seconde yere of derth in the lande and fyue moo are behynde in which there shall nether be earynge nor hervest.
7 Dieu m’a donc envoyé ici avant vous, afin que vous soyez conservés sur la terre, et que vous puissiez avoir des vivres pour subsister.
Wherfore God sent me before you to make prouision that ye myghte continue in the erth and to save youre lyues by a greate delyuerance.
8 Ce n’est point par votre conseil, mais par la volonté de Dieu que j’ai été envoyé ici: il m’a établi comme père de Pharaon, maître de toute sa maison, et prince dans toute la terre d’Égypte.
So now it was not ye that sent me hither but God: and he hath made me father vnto Pharao and lorde ouer all his house and rueler in all the land of Egipte.
9 Hâtez-vous, montez vers mon père, et vous lui direz: Voici ce que vous mande votre fils Joseph: Dieu m’a établi maître de toute la terre d’Égypte; descendez vers moi, ne tardez point.
Hast you ad goo to my father and tell him this sayeth thy sonne Ioseph: God hath made me lorde ouer all Egipte. Come downe vnto me and tarye not
10 Vous habiterez dans la terre de Gessen; et vous serez près de moi, vous et vos fils et les fils de vos fils; vos brebis et vos troupeaux de gros bétail et tout ce que vous possédez.
And thou shalt dwell in the londe of Gosan and be by me: both thou and thi childern and thi childerns childern: and thy shepe and beestes and all that thou hast.
11 Et là je vous nourrirai (car il reste encore cinq années de famine), afin que vous ne périssiez pas et vous et votre maison et tout ce que vous possédez.
There will I make provision for the: for there remayne yet v yeres of derth lest thou and thi houshold and all that thou hast perish.
12 Voici que vos yeux et les yeux de mon frère Benjamin voient que c’est ma bouche qui vous parle.
Beholde youre eyes do se and the eyes also of my brother Ben Iamin that I speake to you by mouth.
13 Annoncez à mon père toute ma gloire et tout ce que vous avez vu en Égypte: hâtez-vous et amenez-le-moi.
Therfore tell my father of all my honoure which I haue in Egipte and of all that ye haue sene ad make hast and brynge in father hither.
14 Et lorsque l’embrassant il fut retombé sur le cou de Benjamin son frère, il pleura, Benjamin aussi pleurant pareillement sur le cou de Joseph.
And he fell on his brother Ben Iamis necke and wepte and Ben Iamin wepte on his necke.
15 Joseph embrassa ensuite tous ses frères et pleura sur chacun d’eux; après quoi ils osèrent lui parler.
Moreouer he fylled all his brethern and wepte apon them. And after that his brethern talked with him.
16 Et l’on entendit et l’on publia hautement à la cour du roi: Les frères de Joseph sont venus; et Pharaon s’en réjouit et toute sa famille.
And when the tidynges was come vnto Pharaos housse that Iosephes brethern were come it pleased Pharao well and all his seruauntes.
17 Et il dit à Joseph qu’il commandât à ses frères, disant: Chargez vos bêtes et vous en allez dans la terre de Chanaan;
And Pharao spake vnto Ioseph: saye vnto thy brethern this do ye: lade youre beestes ad get you hence And when ye be come vnto the londe of Canaan
18 Et amenez de là votre père et votre parenté, et venez à moi: et moi je vous donnerai tous les biens de l’Égypte, afin que vous vous nourrissiez de la moelle de cette terre.
take youre father and youre housholdes and come vnto me and I will geue you the beste of the lande of Egipte and ye shall eate the fatt of the londe.
19 Ordonne aussi qu’ils prennent des chars de la terre d’Égypte pour le transport de leurs petits enfants et de leurs femmes; et dis-leur: Amenez votre père et hâtez-vous de venir au plus tôt.
And commaunded also. This do ye: take charettes with you out of the lande of Egipte for youre childern and for youre wyues: and brynge youre father and come.
20 Ne laissez rien de vos meubles; car toutes les richesses de l’Égypte seront à vous.
Also regarde not youre stuff for the goodes of all the londe of Egipte shalbe youres.
21 Et les fils d’Israël firent comme il leur avait été commandé. Joseph leur donna des chars selon l’ordre de Pharaon, et des vivres pour le chemin.
And the childern of Israell dyd euen so And Ioseph gaue them charettes at the commaundment of Pharao and gaue them vitayle also to spende by the waye.
22 Il ordonna qu’on leur remît aussi à chacun deux robes; mais à Benjamin il donna trois cents pièces d’argent avec cinq robes des plus belles:
And he gaue vnto eche of them chaunge of rayment: but vnto Ben Iamin he gaue. iij. hundred peces of syluer and. v. chaunge of rayment.
23 Envoyant à son père autant d’argent et de vêtements; ajoutant même dix ânes chargés de toutes les richesses de l’Égypte, et un nombre égal d’ânesses portant du blé et du pain pour le chemin.
And vnto his father he sent after the same maner: x. he asses laden with good out of Egipte and. x. she asses laden with corne bred and meate: to serue his father by the waye.
24 Il renvoya donc ses frères, et leur dit, lorsqu’ils partaient: Ne vous fâchez pas en route.
So sent he his brethern awaye and they departed. And he sayde vnto them: se that ye fall nor out by the waye.
25 Ceux-ci, montant de l’Égypte, vinrent dans la terre de Chanaan, vers leur père Jacob,
And they departed from Egipte and came in to the land of Canaan vnto Iacob their father and told him saynge.
26 Et lui portèrent le message, disant: Joseph votre fils vit encore, et c’est lui qui commande dans toute la terre d’Égypte. Ce qu’ayant entendu Jacob, il s’éveilla comme d’un profond sommeil; mais il ne les croyait pas.
Ioseph is yet a lyue and is gouerner ouer all the land of Egipte. And Iacobs hert wauered for he beleued tho not.
27 Eux au contraire lui rapportaient toute la suite de la chose; et quand il vit les chars et tout ce que Joseph avait envoyé, son esprit se ranima.
And they tolde him all the wordes of Ioseph which he had sayde vnto them. But when he sawe the charettes which Ioseph had sent to carie him then his sprites reviued.
28 Et il dit: Il me suffit, si Joseph mon fils vit encore: j’irai et je le verrai avant que je meure.
And Israel sayde. I haue ynough yf Ioseph my sonne be yet alyue: I will goo and se him yer that I dye.
