Psaumes 77
1 Au maître chantre préposé aux Jeduthunites. Cantique d'Asaph. Ma voix s'élève à Dieu, et je prie; ma voix s'élève à Dieu, ô qu'il m'écoute!
To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A Psalm. My voice is unto God, and I will cry; my voice is unto God, and he will give ear unto me.
2 Dans mon jour d'angoisse je cherche le Seigneur; la nuit mes mains sont tendues, et ne se lassent point; mon âme repousse la consolation.
In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not; my soul refused to be comforted.
3 Je pense à Dieu, et je gémis, je réfléchis, et mon esprit se voile. (Pause)
I remembered God, and I moaned; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. (Selah)
4 Tu tiens mes paupières éveillées, je suis agité, et je ne puis parler.
Thou holdest open mine eyelids; I am full of disquiet and cannot speak.
5 Je repasse les jours de jadis, les années d'autrefois,
I consider the days of old, the years of ancient times.
6 je me rappelle mes chants de la nuit, je réfléchis en mon cœur, et mon esprit cherche.
I remember my song in the night; I muse in mine own heart, and my spirit maketh diligent search.
7 Le Seigneur rejettera-t-Il à jamais, ne sera-t-Il plus désormais propice?
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
8 Pour toujours sa grâce a-t-elle cessé, en est-ce fait de la promesse à perpétuité?
Hath his loving-kindness ceased for ever? hath [his] word come to an end from generation to generation?
9 Dieu a-t-Il oublié la pitié, et dans sa colère arrêté le cours de ses compassions? (Pause)
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? or hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? (Selah)
10 Et je dis: Voici ce qui me fait souffrir: la droite du Très-haut n'est plus la même…
Then said I, This is my weakness: — the years of the right hand of the Most High
11 Je veux rappeler les actes de l'Éternel; car je me rappelle tes miracles d'autrefois;
Will I remember, — the works of Jah; for I will remember thy wonders of old,
12 et je veux méditer sur toutes tes œuvres, et considérer tes hauts faits.
And I will meditate upon all thy work, and muse upon thy doings.
13 O Dieu, ta voie est sainte; quel Dieu est grand comme Dieu?
O God, thy way is in the sanctuary: who is so great a god as God?
14 Tu es le Dieu qui fais des miracles! Tu as manifesté ta puissance parmi les peuples.
Thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength among the peoples.
15 De ton bras tu délivras ton peuple, les enfants de Jacob et de Joseph. (Pause)
Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)
16 Les eaux t'ont vu, ô Dieu, les eaux t'ont vu, et ont tremblé, et les flots ont été ébranlés.
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they trembled, yea, the depths were troubled:
17 Les nuages ont épandu les eaux, et les nues ont fait entendre une voix, et tes flèches volèrent.
The thick clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound, yea, thine arrows went abroad:
18 Ton tonnerre éclata en roulements, les éclairs illuminèrent le monde. La terre s'émut et trembla.
The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind, lightnings lit up the world; the earth was troubled and it quaked.
19 La mer fut ton chemin, et les grandes eaux, tes sentiers; et l'on ne put reconnaître tes traces.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths are in the great waters; and thy footsteps are not known.
20 Comme un troupeau tu conduisis ton peuple, par les mains de Moïse et d'Aaron.
Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
