Psaumes 54

1 Au maître chantre. Avec instruments à cordes. Hymne de David, lorsque les Siphéens vinrent, et dirent à Saül: Voici, David est caché parmi nous. Dieu, sois par ton nom mon sauveur, et par ta puissance, mon défenseur!

To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments: an instruction. Of David; when the Ziphites came, and said to Saul, Is not David hiding himself with us? O God, by thy name save me, and by thy strength do me justice.

2 O Dieu, écoute ma prière, prête l'oreille aux paroles de ma bouche!

O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 Car des étrangers s'élèvent contre moi, et des furieux attentent à ma vie; ils ne mettent point Dieu en vue de leurs regards. (Pause)

For strangers are risen up against me, and the violent seek after my life: they have not set God before them. (Selah)

4 Voici, Dieu m'est secourable, le Seigneur est le soutien de ma vie:

Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among them that uphold my soul.

5 Il fera retomber sur mes ennemis leur méchanceté. Selon ta fidélité anéantis-les!

He will requite evil to mine enemies: in thy truth cut them off.

6 D'un cœur empressé je te ferai des sacrifices, je célébrerai ton nom, Éternel, car il est bon,

I will freely sacrifice unto thee; I will praise thy name, O Jehovah, because it is good.

7 car il m'a délivré de toute adversité, et mes ennemis réjouissent mes regards.

For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath seen [its desire] upon mine enemies.
