Job 33
1 « Cependant, Job, écoutez mon discours, et écoutez toutes mes paroles.
Hear, therefore, my discourse, I pray thee, O Job! And attend unto all my words!
2 Voici, j'ai ouvert ma bouche. Ma langue a parlé dans ma bouche.
Behold, I am opening my mouth; My tongue is now speaking in my palate.
3 Mes paroles exprimeront la droiture de mon cœur. Ce que mes lèvres savent, elles le diront sincèrement.
My words shall be in the uprightness of my heart; My lips shall utter knowledge purely.
4 L'Esprit de Dieu m'a fait, et le souffle du Tout-Puissant me donne la vie.
The spirit of God made me, And the breath of the Almighty gave me life.
5 Si tu peux, réponds-moi. Mettez de l'ordre dans vos paroles devant moi, et levez-vous.
If thou art able, answer me; Set thyself in array against me; stand up!
6 Voici, je suis envers Dieu comme vous l'êtes. Je suis aussi formé à partir de l'argile.
Behold, I, like thee, am a creature of God; I also was formed of clay.
7 Voici, ma terreur ne vous effraie pas, ma pression ne sera pas non plus lourde pour vous.
Behold, my terror cannot dismay thee, Nor can my greatness be heavy upon thee.
8 « Tu as parlé à mon oreille, J'ai entendu la voix de tes paroles, disant,
Surely thou hast said in my hearing, I have heard the sound of thy words:
9 Je suis pur, sans désobéissance. Je suis innocent, il n'y a pas d'iniquité en moi.
“I am pure, and without transgression; I am clean, and there is no iniquity in me.
10 Voici, il trouve des occasions contre moi. Il me considère comme son ennemi.
Behold, He seeketh causes of hostility against me; He regardeth me as his enemy.
11 Il met mes pieds dans les ceps. Il marque tous mes chemins.
He putteth my feet in the stocks; He watcheth all my paths.”
12 « Voici, je vais te répondre. En cela, tu n'es pas juste, car Dieu est plus grand que l'homme.
Behold, in this thou art not right; I will answer thee; For God is greater than man.
13 Pourquoi vous battez-vous contre lui? parce qu'il ne rend compte d'aucune de ses affaires?
Why dost thou contend with Him? For he giveth no account of any of his doings.
14 Car Dieu parle une fois, oui deux fois, bien que l'homme n'y prête pas attention.
For God speaketh once, Yea, twice, when man regardeth it not.
15 Dans un rêve, dans une vision de la nuit, quand le sommeil profond tombe sur les hommes, en somnolant sur le lit,
In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumber upon the bed;
16 alors il ouvre les oreilles des hommes, et scelle leur instruction,
Then openeth he the ears of men, And sealeth up for them admonition;
17 afin qu'il retire l'homme de son dessein, et cacher l'orgueil de l'homme.
That he may turn man from his purpose, And hide pride from man.
18 Il préserve son âme de la fosse, et sa vie de périr par l'épée.
Thus he saveth him from the pit, Yea, his life from perishing by the sword.
19 « Il est aussi châtié par la douleur sur son lit, avec une lutte continuelle dans ses os,
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with a continual agitation of his bones,
20 de sorte que sa vie a horreur du pain, et son âme une nourriture délicate.
So that his mouth abhorreth bread, And his taste the choicest food;
21 Sa chair est tellement consumée qu'on ne la voit plus. Ses os qui n'ont pas été vus ressortent.
His flesh is consumed, that it cannot be seen, And his bones, that were invisible, are naked;
22 Oui, son âme s'approche de la fosse, et sa vie aux destructeurs.
Yea, his soul draweth near to the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
23 « S'il y a à côté de lui un ange, un interprète, un parmi mille, pour montrer à l'homme ce qui est bon pour lui,
But if there be with him a messenger, An interpreter, one of a thousand, Who may show unto man his duty,
24 alors Dieu lui fait grâce, et dit, « Délivre-le de la descente dans la fosse. J'ai trouvé une rançon.
Then will God be gracious to him, and say, “Save him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.”
25 Sa chair sera plus fraîche que celle d'un enfant. Il retourne aux jours de sa jeunesse.
His flesh shall became fresher than a child's; He shall return to the days of his youth.
26 Il prie Dieu, et il lui est favorable, pour qu'il voie son visage avec joie. Il rend à l'homme sa justice.
He shall pray to God, and he will be favorable to him, And permit him to see his face with joy, And restore unto man his righteousness.
27 Il chante devant les hommes, et dit, J'ai péché, j'ai perverti ce qui était juste, et ça ne m'a pas profité.
He shall sing among men, and say, “I sinned; I acted perversely; Yet hath he not requited me for it:
28 Il a racheté mon âme pour qu'elle n'entre pas dans la fosse. Ma vie va voir la lumière.
He hath delivered me from going down to the pit, And my life beholdeth the light.”
29 « Voici que Dieu fait toutes ces choses, deux fois, oui trois fois, avec un homme,
Lo! all these things doeth God Time after time with man,
30 pour ramener son âme de la fosse, afin qu'il soit éclairé par la lumière des vivants.
That he may bring him back from the pit, That he may enjoy the light of the living.
31 Marque bien, Job, et écoute-moi. Gardez le silence, et je parlerai.
Mark well, O Job! hearken to me! Keep silence, and I will speak.
32 Si tu as quelque chose à dire, réponds-moi. Parlez, car je désire vous justifier.
Yet if thou hast any thing to say, answer me! Speak! for I desire to pronounce thee innocent.
33 Si ce n'est pas le cas, écoutez-moi. Garde le silence, et je t'enseignerai la sagesse. »
But if not, do thou listen to me! Keep silence, and I will teach thee wisdom!
