Ézéchiel 26
1 La onzième année, le premier du mois, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces termes:
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word bf Jehovah came to me, saying:
2 « Fils d'homme, parce que Tyr a dit de Jérusalem: « Ah! elle est brisée! Celle qui était la porte des peuples m'a été rendue.
Son of man, because Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, “Aha! she is broken that was the gate of the nations; now is all transferred to me; I shall be full, now that she is desolate!”
3 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur Yahvé dit: Voici, j'en veux à toi, Tyr, et je ferai monter contre toi de nombreuses nations, comme la mer fait monter ses flots.
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and I will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
4 Elles détruiront les murs de Tyr, elles abattront ses tours. Je raclerai sa poussière, et je ferai d'elle un rocher nu.
And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers; and I will scrape off her earth from her, and make her like a naked rock.
5 Elle sera un lieu où l'on étendra les filets au milieu de la mer, car j'ai parlé, dit le Seigneur Yahvé. Elle sera le butin des nations.
She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah. And she shall be to the nations for a spoil;
6 Ses filles, qui sont aux champs, seront tuées par l'épée. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
and her daughters that are upon the land shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
7 Car le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Voici que je vais faire venir du nord sur Tyr Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, roi des rois, avec des chevaux, des chars, des cavaliers, et une armée nombreuse.
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, a king of kings from the North, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a vast multitude of people.
8 Il tuera par l'épée tes filles dans les champs. Il fera contre toi des retranchements, il élèvera contre toi un monticule, il dressera contre toi le bouclier.
Thy daughters upon the land shall he slay with the sword; and he shall set a tower against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee;
9 Il dressera ses voitures contre tes murs, et il démolira tes tours avec ses haches.
and his battering-rams shall be set against thy walls, and thy towers shall he break down with axes.
10 A cause de l'abondance de ses chevaux, leur poussière te couvrira. Tes murs trembleront au bruit des cavaliers, des chariots et des chars, quand il entrera par tes portes, comme on entre dans une ville ouverte.
By reason of the great number of his horses, their dust shall cover thee; thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he entereth into thy gates, as men enter into a city that is broken through.
11 Il foulera toutes tes rues avec les sabots de ses chevaux. Il tuera ton peuple par l'épée. Les piliers de ta force tomberont à terre.
With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; thy people he shall slay with the sword; and the idols of thy strength shall fall to the ground.
12 Ils pilleront tes richesses et feront une proie de tes marchandises. Ils abattront tes murs et détruiront tes maisons de plaisance. Ils déposeront tes pierres, ton bois et ta poussière au milieu des eaux.
And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy beautiful houses; and thy stones and thy timber and thine earth shall they lay in the midst of the waters.
13 Je ferai cesser le bruit de vos chants. On n'entendra plus le son de tes harpes.
And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
14 Je ferai de toi un rocher nu. Tu seras un lieu où l'on étendra les filets. On ne te bâtira plus, car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui ai parlé, dit le Seigneur Yahvé.
And I will make thee like a naked rock; thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more; for I, Jehovah, have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.
15 Le Seigneur Yahvé dit à Tyr: « Les îles ne trembleront-elles pas au bruit de ta chute, quand les blessés gémiront, quand le carnage sera fait en toi?
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Tyre: Behold, the isles shall shake at the sound of thy fall, at the groaning of the wounded, and at the slaughter which is made in the midst of thee.
16 Alors tous les princes de la mer descendront de leurs trônes, ils déposeront leurs robes, ils se dépouilleront de leurs vêtements brodés. Ils se revêtiront de tremblements. Ils s'assiéront à terre, ils trembleront à chaque instant, et ils seront stupéfaits de toi.
And all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their mantles, and put off their embroidered garments. They shall clothe themselves with trembling, and sit on the ground, and tremble every moment, and be astonished at thee.
17 Ils se lamenteront sur toi, et te diront, « Comment vous êtes détruits, qui étaient habités par des hommes de la mer, la ville renommée, qui était fort dans la mer, elle et ses habitants, qui a fait régner la terreur sur tous ceux qui vivaient là! »
And they shall utter a lamentation over thee, and say to thee, “How art thou destroyed, thou that wast peopled from the seas, the renowned city, that wast mighty upon the sea, thou and thine inhabitants, causing terror to all that dwelt near thee!”
18 Maintenant, les îles trembleront au jour de ta chute. Oui, les îles qui sont dans la mer seront consternées par votre départ.
Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall quake at thy departure.
19 Car le Seigneur Yahvé dit: « Quand je ferai de toi une ville déserte, comme les villes qui ne sont pas habitées, quand je ferai monter sur toi l'abîme et que les grandes eaux te couvriront,
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee,
20 je te ferai descendre avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse, vers les peuples d'autrefois, et je te ferai habiter dans les bas-fonds de la terre, dans les lieux déserts d'autrefois, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse, afin que tu ne sois pas habitée; et je mettrai la gloire dans le pays des vivants.
I will bring thee down to them that have gone down to the pit, to the people of old time, and I will cause thee to dwell in the lower parts of the earth, amid the ruins of ancient times, with them that have gone down to the pit, that thou be no more inhabited; but I will set glory in the land of the living.
21 Je ferai de toi une terreur, et tu n'auras plus d'existence. On te cherchera, mais on ne te retrouvera jamais, dit le Seigneur Yahvé. »
I will make thee a desolation, and thou shalt be no more; though thou be sought for, thou shalt be found no more forever, saith the Lord Jehovah.
