Paul and Timothy, servants of Messiah Yeshua; To all the kadoshim in Messiah Yeshua who are at Philippi, with the overseers and servants:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
3 Minä kiitän minun Jumalaani, niin usein kuin minä teitä muistan,
I thank my God whenever I remember you,

always in every prayer of mine for all of you, making my requests with joy,
5 Että te olette evankeliumista osalliseksi tulleet, ensimäisestä päivästä niin tähän asti,
for your partnership in the Good News from the first day until now;
6 Sen totisesti tietäen, että se, joka teissä on hyvän työn alkanut, on sen Jesuksen Kristuksen päivään asti päättävä:
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Messiah Yeshua.
7 Niinkuin minulle on myös kohtuullinen teistä kaikista niin ajatella, sentähden, että minä teidät sydämessäni pidän, sekä minun kahleissani, että evankeliumin edesvastauksessa ja vahvistuksessa, te kaikki, jotka minun kanssani armosta osalliset olette.
It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Messiah Yeshua.

This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;

so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the Day of Messiah;
11 Täytetyt vanhurskauden hedelmillä, jotka Jesuksen Kristuksen kautta teissä tapahtuvat, Jumalan kiitokseksi ja kunniaksi.
being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Yeshua the Messiah, to the glory and praise of God.
12 Mutta minä tahdon, että te, rakkaat veljet, tietäisitte, että ne, mitkä minulle tapahtuneet ovat, ovat enemmäksi evankeliumin menestykseksi tulleet,
Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News;
13 Niin että minun siteeni ovat ilmi tulleet Kristuksessa koko raastuvassa ja myös kaikille muille.
so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Messiah;
14 Ja että monta veljeä Herrassa, minun siteistäni vahvistetut, ovat paljoa rohkiammaksi tulleet pelkäämättä sanaa puhumaan.
and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear.
15 Muutamat tosin saarnaavat Kristusta kateudesta ja riidasta, mutta muutamat hyvästä tahdosta.
Some indeed preach Messiah even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.
16 Ne ilmoittavat Kristusta eripuraisuudesta, ei puhtaalla sydämellä, vaan luulevat niin lisäävänsä minun siteihini murhetta.
The latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.
17 Mutta nämät rakkaudesta; sillä he tietävät minun olevan pantuna evankeliumin edesvastaamiseksi.
The former insincerely preach Messiah from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether out of false motives or in truth, Messiah is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.
19 Sillä minä tiedän sen minulleni joutuvan autuudeksi teidän rukouksenne ja Jesuksen Kristuksen hengen avun kautta.
For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your petition and the supply of the Ruach of Yeshua the Messiah,
20 Niinkuin minä ikävöiden odotan ja toivon, etten minä missään häpiään tule, vaan että Kristus nyt, niinkuin ainakin, kaikella vapaudella minun ruumiissani ylistetään, joko elämän eli kuoleman kautta;
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Messiah will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
21 Sillä Kristus on minulle elämä, ja kuolema on minulle voitto.
For to me to live is Messiah, and to die is gain.
22 Mutta jos lihassa elää, se on minulle tarpeellinen, ja mitä minä valitsen, en minä tiedä.
But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I do not make known what I will choose.
23 Sillä molemmilta minä ahdistetaan: minä halajan täältä eritä ja olla Kristuksen kanssa; sillä se paljoa parempi olis.
But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Messiah, which is far better.
24 Mutta paljoa tarpeellisempi on lihassa olla teidän tähtenne.
Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.
25 Ja minä tiedän totisesti, että minun pitää oleman ja teidän kaikkein kansanne pysymän, teidän menestykseksenne ja uskonne iloksi,
And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
26 Että teidän kerskaamisenne olis yltäkylläinen Kristuksessa Jesuksessa minusta, minun läsnäolemiseni kautta taas teidän tykönänne.
that your rejoicing may abound in Messiah Yeshua in me through my presence with you again.
27 Ainoastaan käyttäkäät itsenne niinkuin Kristuksen evankeliumille sovelias on, että jos minä tulen ja näen teidät eli poissa ollessani saan kuulla teistä, että te olette yhdessä hengessä ja yhdessä sielussa meidän kanssamme evankeliumin uskossa kilvoitelleet.
Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Messiah, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;
28 Ja älkäät antako missään peljättää teitänne vastaanseisojilta, joka tosin heille kadotuksen merkki on, mutta teille autuudeksi, ja se on Jumalalta.
and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
29 Sillä teille on lahjaksi annettu Kristuksen puolesta, ei ainoasti että te hänen päällensä uskotte, mutta myös kärsitte hänen tähtensä,
Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Messiah, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,
30 Ja pysytte siinä kilvoituksessa, jonka te minussa näitte ja nyt minusta kuulette.
having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.
